We didn't go through the information desk. The woman there was tremendously rude with us. We decided to deliver the baby somewhere else as we couldn't believe how a clinic could have such unprofessional personnel working with them.

5 Sterne von uns… Nicht nur, weil Heidelberg einer der schönsten Städte für uns ist, sondern auch weil wir uns im Salem KH in der Villa Menga wie in einem Hotel aufgehoben fühlen. Die Hebammen, die Schwestern, sowie die Ärzte zu jeder Zeit super freundlich, Hilfsbereit und sehr gut organisiert. Selbst die Schüler haben Ahnung von ihrer Handhabung. Das war es uns Wert, den Weg aus der Pfalz hier her für alle 3 Kids aufzunehmen.

Unfortunately I have to give a two star review. My birth experience was overall very traumatic. I had a planned c-section, this was okay although I was very nervous and of course they cannot give you any medication to deal with severe anxiety despite this being the best for both myself and the surgical team. I have to say, there are some excellent staff here and the Anaesthesiologist and her student were by far the best doctors I encountered at this hospital. When you have a planned section here, you are given just three minutes with the baby before you are separated for the rest of the operation and recovery in the recovery room. This alone is very traumatic and seems underdeveloped for a hospital in supposedly the ‘best health care system in the world’. I was taken to the recovery room where I then had to wait for two hours to be reunited with my newborn. This was purely due to the fact the hospital is understaffed and unorganised; meaning no staff member was able to collect me from the recovery room. It was only when I became extremely distraught did a staff member come to collect me. Just an awful experience. Pain relief following the section was a disaster. IV paracetamol will never be sufficient after such major surgery and the staff will be sure to belittle you for feeling pain. If you need stronger medication, my advice is to bring your own! The majority of doctors and midwives here will tell you that you aren’t in pain/ cannot have pain, it is a true battle to have your pain managed in an effective way at this hospital. I realise it is mainly bureaucratic reasons which prevent the administration of stronger pain relief but ultimately no patient should be belittled and ridiculed for being in pain. Villa Menge is beautiful and very comfortable. The private room is excellent and I highly recommend it. This is where my second star is going. However, sadly it is difficult to enjoy the space when you are in extreme, uncontrolled pain. There were multiple mistakes in my discharge notes regarding myself and my baby. Doctors tell you one thing and the papers will say a completely different thing. I also believe they unnecessarily test for complications without true justification or reasoning. I also believe they make medial assumptions about you as a patient that are both unfounded and illogical; resulting in a poorer level of care. After being discharged I unfortunately had to go back to the hospital as my section scar became infected and I developed a lung infection. This again was truly traumatic and the doctor who dealt with me was both rude and patronising. Saying ‘du Arme kind’ to a mother of two children is just ridiculous and unappreciated. The second doctor laughed as I was told by a doctor from the intensiv station that I also had a lung infection. I found this truly horrifying. After a stay in intensiv, which was overall much better than in gynaecology and the delivery room. I was due to be transferred back to the gynaecology ward. But no, this could not be simple; I was then told i needed to unnecessarily stay in intensiv because I was a covid risk. This is despite the head doctor assuring the gynaecology team that he was sure I did not have covid-19. After a forceful talk I was allowed up to the ward but had to be isolated until a test result came back. For the first 12 hours the staff took this seriously and wore the correct PPE. Of course this was annoying for the staff and hence why my empty IVs were left attached to me for hours before any staff member took them out. Was finally discharged and I truly hope to never set foot in this hospital again. I am glad and grateful for my recovery and to the doctors that are genuinely caring and empathetic. I am also glad my baby was well cared for and delivered safely into this world. I had many good expectations of this hospital and just feel so let down. Overall, I would never give birth here again.

Auf Ihren Fachgebieten absolute Profis. Sehr freundliche und professionelle Behandlung. Man kann hier ruhigen Gewissens seine Eingriffe planen und durchführen lassen. Die Zimmer haben schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Aber das ist absolut irrelevant, man ist hier das einem geholfen wird und genau das passiert hier. Ich hatte meine zweite op in diesem Hause und kann getrost sagen das die Menschen ihr Handwerk hier verstehen.

Sie schaffen es, ihren Stress den Patienten nicht zu vermitteln. Immer freundlich und entspannt kommen sie rüber! Auch das übrige Stationspersonal ( Essen und Reinigung) ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das ist nicht in allen Kliniken der Region so! Die ärztliche Behandlung war sehr gut, ich wurde gut beraten und aufgeklärt. Das Op Ergebnis tadellos. Die Betreuung der Anästhesie war sehr gut. Dort wird jeder Schritt erklärt, was hilft, da es für die meisten Menschen ja eine Ausnahmesituation ist. Auch die Nachbehandlung war sehr gut. Alle Ärzte waren kompetent und freundlich. Wenn ich mir etwas wünschen dürfte, wäre es eine postoperative Visite vom Anästhesisten. Aber das schmälert nicht die uneingeschränkt positive Erfahrung. Selbst das Essen ist viel besser als im Uniklinikum HD, das Zimmer im schon renovierten Bereich schön mit super Aussicht und die Dachterrasse mit Kapelle und Café und schönen Pflanzen, Sitzgelegenheiten und genialer Aussicht ist ja legendär in in Heidelberg!

Ich hatte das große Glück im Salem meine Prinzessin auf die Welt zu bringen und kann jeder Frau diese Klinik Herzens empfehlen! Der Kreißsaal und die Villa Menge waren super modern und sehr sauber. Auch die Ärzte und Krankenschwestern waren sympathisch und professionell ABER der größte Lob geht an die Hebammen!!! Die leisten unheimlich schöne Arbeit und ich bin einfach nur dankbar, dass ich so gut unterstützt wurde.

Since professor Saitz not there anymore the hospital is BACKWARD. Sorry but im trying to reach and call the secretary of Professor Weiss and Professor weber since 1 hour and nobody pick up the phone. On hold for more than an hour than finally the secretary pick up the phone and you ask her for an appointment she answer you in less than a second ( no its not possible ) before even looking at the calendar.

1A von den Schwestern und Pflegern bis hin zu den Ärzten. Alle sehr freundlich, haben sich stets Zeit genommen und man wurde ausführlich vor und nach der OP beraten. Alles verlief reibungslos und man fühlt sich sehr gut aufgehoben. Selbst das Essen liegt deutlich über dem Klinikdurchschnitt. An sonnigen Tagen ist die große Dachterrasse mit Ausblick über Handschuhsheim ein weiteres Highlight. 5 Sterne durch und durch verdient.

Sehr freundliches Personal, immer hilfsbereit bei sämtlichen Anliegen, sehr schnelle Reaktion trotz vieler und stressiger Arbeit und sogar bei 3-Schicht Betrieb. Das Essen ist für ein Krankenhaus sehr gut. Die Ärzte nehmen sich immer Zeit obwohl sie eigentlich keine haben, zudem haben sie ein großes Anliegen die Probleme zu lösen. Kommunizieren und Kooperieren mit Ärzten aus der Uniklinik und vermitteln entsprechend. Wunderschöne Dachterrasse zur Erholung und zum Telefonieren. Die Zimmer sind für ein Krankenhaus groß und schön. Im 4. Stock hat man durch die großen Fenster einen wunderschönen Ausblick über Heidelberg. Ich danke nochmal dem kompletten Salem Team in jeglicher Hinsicht für den angenehmen Aufenthalt.

NICHT ZU EMPFEHLEN!!! Wir haben mit meiner Frau hier nur schlechte Erfahrung gesammelt ich rate jeder Schwangeren Frau ab sich in diesem „Krankenhaus“ wenn man es so nennen darf sich behandeln zu lassen!!!

Wonderful birth experience and amazing staff! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect first birth. They could maybe start providing a Japanese screen panel though for some privacy...with family and visitors coming in and out, it would be nice not to have strangers watching you figure out how to breastfeed or have pelvic exams or change your clothes, etc. aside from that, the epidural was HEAVEN and everyone was very professional and helpful. If at any point I pressed the call button, a midwife was there in an instant! The lunch was surprisingly delicious, but breakfast and dinner weren't worth it - I suggest getting take out or having your partner bring something. So 4 stars from us! Only one off for the privacy issue. A knock on the door or a bathroom in the middle doesn't make for much privacy.

My father was treated in this hospital, and doctors and staff treated him with utmost attention and kindness.Despite his very critical condition at his age and cancer, all the necessary tests were performed, proper diagnoses were very thoroughly done, and the approach was holistic, not isolated to one problem.We felt we are truly in golden hands with Dr. Zhang. I want to especially recognize Dr. Zhang and her team - they made everything possible and were super professional and helpful throughout the treatment. Dr. Zhang works relentlessly. Nothing escapes her attention. She has a thorough and holistic approach to patient health. She is to the point and works fast. She is super busy but she still explains the state or calls you back at night or morning (and she probably does not have a minute for herself to have a drink of water!). My personal experience from the surgery station the nurses very caring and strict with the routine. I felt in good hands and taken care of. The doctors were clear and answered all questions I’ve had. Even when, I do not speak German the staff made sure I get English explanations and written information. Thank you!

Kompetente Ärzte,das Pflegepersonal sehr freundlich und immer das lächen im Gesicht trotz der vielen Arbeit,das ganze Personal ist mit ganzem ❤ dabei.. Man fühlt sich wirklich gut aufgehoben und in guten Händen. Ich würde jederzeit mich dort wieder operieren lassen. Die Klinik ist sehr empfehlenswert. Und eine schöne Aussicht hat man auch.

I had a challenging birth last 2020 but the staff were really so supportive. Im a foreigner and i was scared coz my german is not that perfect but the staff can also speak englis h and understand.. keep it up!

Ich bin aufgrund einer ambulanten OP im Bereich Gynäkologie auf das Krankenhaus gestoßen. Alle Schwestern waren wirklich super nett auf Station und man hat sich trotz Aufregung wohl gefühlt. Zudem muss ich auch sagen, dass man nicht dieses typische Krankenhausgefühl hatte. Die Station war wirklich sehr modern gestaltet, kein unangenehmer Krankenhaus Geruch und sehr wohnlich eingerichtet. Sollte ich irgendwann noch einmal ein Krankenhaus aufsuchen müssen, wird dieses sicherlich die erste Wahl sein.

Immer aufmerksames und freundliches Pflegepersonal. Klasse Ärzteteam. Auf alle Fragen wird geduldig und umfassend geantwortet. Eine rundum angenehme Atmosphäre. Und hinterher ist man gesund!

Ich habe mich in diesem Krankenhaus sehr wohl gefühlt. Hier passt alles von der Aufnahme, die sehr gut durch organisiert ist, sehr nette Schwestern und Pfleger auf der Station Es ist alles sehr sauber und man fühlt sich rundherum gut betreut Die Ärzte sind professionell und sehr freundlich Viele Bereiche des Krankenhauses sind frisch renoviert Ich habe mich selten so wohl gefühlt und würde jederzeit gerne wieder in dieses Krankenhaus gehen

Das Kreissaalteam und auch das Team der Villa Menge sind fantastisch! Ich kann eine Entbindung im Salem Krankenhaus zu 100% weiter empfehlen. Hier wird man mit viel Sachverstand, aber auch Herz und Empathie in der besonderen Zeit der Geburt und der ersten 2-3 Tage danach begleitet. Jeder hat ein offenes Ohr für Fragen und nimmt sich Zeit. Danke, liebes Geburtshilfeteam, und macht weiter so!

Ein top Krankenhaus mit extrem fachkundigem, empathischem und professionellem Personal. Ich habe mich immer und jederzeit bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Sowohl die Ärzte aber auch das Pflegepersonal haben mehr als einfach nur ihren Job gemacht. Danke an das Krankenhaus Salem, ich kann dieses uneingeschränkt jedem weiterempfehlen.
