I love this youth hostel even though it's a distance from town centre but is very well connected. Its breakfast is very generous and has great variety. It's next to the zoo which the kids love. Located in the New Campus of Heidelberg University you can walk to two cafes/ bistros for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended

Dirty rooms, uncomfortable beds, noisy inhabitants and bugs everywhere. I was there for 5 nights and as much as good the 1st night was that bad was the 2nd.Suddenly bugs showed up because of the widows being open due to the lack of air conditioning. We spent the night away from the beds. I believe that this issue should be further investigated

Quiet a nice place for the price. If you bring some free time with you, you can visit the zoo located right next to the hostel. At night or late afternoon you should not open the windows while having the light on, otherwise you'll be left with hundred's of flies in your room.

I stayed here for a week when I first arrived as a student in Heidelberg. At that time the price also included complementary breakfast. It was back in 2013. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean. There is also a bar downstairs wheee you can buy a beer. The location is great. The bus 32 connects you to the main city. The price is quite on the higher side but the facilities and services you get make up for that. If you have youth hostel membership you'll even get a discounted price if i am not wrong. Overall it was a nice experience.

Bed Bug Infection Hazard I spent 4 nights in this hostel (in November 2023). On the third day of my stay, I saw some small insects, but I didn't recognize them after that, and I got a lot of bites on my body. I found out through a dermatologist that it was bed bugs, unfortunately some of them had hidden in my luggage and infested my house as well. I request everyone to take this problem seriously. This hostel is infested with bed bugs and it will affect your whole life for a while......

Had the privilege of staying here thanks to the DAAD. The staff were well organized and professional. The catering was on point. The rooms could be a bit cleaner, there were many dead bugs lying around and the washrooms were a bit grimy. It is also located a bit far from downtown Heidelberg so getting to and from here can be tricky.

Rooms were standard. The only complaint I really have is that there were no outlets within reach of the beds. The food was decent. It's a little bit out of the way but the bus stop is close by as is the zoo.

A beautiful place near the river. Very clean and everything was nice and cozy. However the building has little to no windows so the atmosphere inside is a bit heavy on some areas and it definitely gets too hot on summer.

The rooms are clean in general. The space is quite big for events and their breakfast, lunch and dinners have a great selection. It is a bit far away from any type of store as the closest supermarket is a 20 min walk, it the zoo is next to it and you can see some of the animals from the hostel. ❤️

It is really nice, but it's frustrating that the outlets in the room are nowhere near the beds, so one cannot charge their phone overnight easily. Also the internet is only free for 1 hour per day which is crazy. Everything else is good: food, laundry, next to bus stop

We come here once a year for a meeting with a big group of people. Every year the hostel takes good care of us. The breakfast buffet is simple but good, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the beds are fine to sleep on for a couple of nights. We will come back next year!

Hottest room i ever try to sleep, here with family can't breathe in a room is so hot highly not recommended to anyone in a summer time zero air conditioning

Nice and clean hostel, with breakfast. Dorms or rooms available. Friendly staff and 24 hour access. Well connected buy public transport. Reasonable tariffs for dorm and room. Great for short stay, discount for students.

Nice place to stay. It's also an actual youth hostel, with shared rooms. Staff is nice, in general the people are nice. However, I drove to the hostel by car. There are few parking spots available and before you are in the nicer bits of Heidelberg you'll have to take either the bus or take a walk for about 40min. Food is decent. Breakfast is good, diner is nothing extraordinary. It isn't bad either.

Service was great. Rooms were clean. It would have been nice to have one or two more outlets in the rooms. Breakfast was plenty and tasty. The location is great, it's really green and quiet. Connection is okay, it's kind of outside of town, but you get to the main station in about 20 minutes. Was a really nice experience, would definitely recommend it and sleep there, again.

Rooms are very clean, staff is very friendly and even cantina offer good food. On poor side of this hotel I must put totally wrong ventilation - rooms are not ventilated at all and it is hard to sleep well because of this even with open window. One of worst coffee I ever drunk meets me at every breakfast (while meat ok) and not comfortable beds.

While they had good food to offer, nice rooms for the price,I would recommend to pay attention at the bathrooms of the room. They had a smell that made it difficult to shower.
