Nice park with a lake and magnolia trees. Paved trail, perfect for strollers and bikes. 🌳 you can go through this park into valley stream park without paying the fee to enter the park. Really cool playground and a pool for a fee. Bathrooms are by the playground. Jungle gym along the way

Absolutely love walking here, park is clean and safe. The ducks, birds are contained on the water and stay in their areas, I'm glad because I am afraid of birds.

Little known fact... Valley Stream is home to more parks and green spaces than almost any other village in Nassau County. And if you like parks, Hendrickson is a must see! Something for everyone...pond with fountains, beautiful cherry blossoms, willows by the stream, memorial path with seating for quiet relaxation, tennis courts, bike paths, walking/jogging, plenty or geese and other birds, a young children's playground, circuit training on the trail, and walking/biking acces to Valley Stream State Park. When visiting, please remember... take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints. Bonus - Plan your visit on Sunday during hours the Pagan Fletcher House is open for tours. It is located just outside the park on the north end and can share a wealth of Valley Stream history... including pictures of when the pond at Hendrickson Park was a beach!

This is indeed one of the best and well-kept parks in all of Long Island, possibly in all of New York! Lots of exercise stations and running trails for people to jog and work out daily, a playground for parents to take their families, and a wonderful pool that is open during the summer at its entrance! There are also places to play basketball and tennis as well as a senior center for local residents! Lots of ducks gather here too around the beautiful pond (which seems almost more like a small lake), and lots of cozy places to enjoy the sun outside with friends and family, as well as to have picnics or simply lay back and read a book! Usually very safe, convenient and open to all people! And only a few min away from the nearby restaurants such as the cheap Chinese buffet and the stores!

Stayed at one of the cottages for 7 days and it was well maintained and clean. It was pleasant stay. The whole park is well managed, safe, clean and so enjoyable. I highly recommend it for a family outing or vacation stay.

Just love this park for what it offers and it’s accessible to all. The playground is great and has a good walking trail. There’s a recreation center inside the park that offers classes.

It’s a beautiful peaceful place around the lake . It has a playground with picnic tables wired fenced for kids safety . To go to the lake has it’s own entrance separate from the playground. GPS will take you to a Fletcher Avenue to get to the playground you have to walk more , but if you look for parking on NORTH FRANKLIN AVENUE , you reach easily to the playground and easy to the lake with no hassles. VERY IMPORTANT : COUNTS WITH OWN PARKING LOT BUT YOU HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT OF VALLEY STREAM TO PAY THE SEASON PARKING. Other wise you are welcome to get here walking and is free entrance

Safe, quiet, beautiful. Farmers’ Market is on Thursday every week. There are a couple of tennis courts but the basketball court does not seem to be public as the local high school basketball team is always training there. Businesses are not allowed to operate without a permit. Public Safety is posted all around the park during the day from 8 AM until midnight. It’s a great place to go if you’re trying to get fit. Hendrickson is a public park with one lane for pedestrians and a dedicated lane for cyclists. There is a speed limit of 15 MPH. A parking permit is required for parking and you must be a Valley Stream resident to get one. The parking lot gets very full on sunny days when everyone and their kids heads to the pool. There are fitness stops along the path winding around the water feature; you can do pull-ups, sit ups, and push ups, amongst other calisthenic exercises. No boating or fishing is allowed. I sometimes see groups of people and their kids feeding bread to the geese right in front of VS Public Safety. I don’t know if that’s allowed. I advise wearing gloves despite the seemingly infrequent use of the pull up bars. It’s a nice place to ride your bicycle through or go for a walk. Locals are friendly and often wave or say hello. If you’re walking around on a sunny day, it might be a good idea to bypass the long curve around the pool by going across the bridge to avoid the sweltering heat.

This park is simply beautiful with trees 🌳 and a gorgeous lake. There is a trail where you can walk, jogg, run or ride your bike. I noticed a beautiful thing. I saw an elderly lady with her walking stick on the trail enjoying the fresh air. There lots of benches so u can sit down at any time and relax enjoying the spectacular view of the lake. There are security patrolling the area so its pretty safe. Great area for peace of mind. The park is very active meaning people are getting their exercise in.

This nice park is located in valley stream. Nice scenery around a nice body of water. The playground is decent. Very large pool and water park that costs money. You will need to park a block away to get to playground.

It's easy to get to, good parking. It's beautiful. I just luv the swans, ducks, and the fish. I enjoy pacing my exercise routine by counting how many laps that I'm able to walk around the park and parking lot on each visit. If I wish to ruin my diet, good pizza, bagels, and icecream are just across the street. It's a great place to decompress and get some thinking done. It's a park, you still have to be careful wherever you go- speaking of which, I REALLY appreciate the security cars making their rounds. It's right next door to Valley Stream State Park- which has picnic tables and BBQ pits for a more family experience. The park attendees are EXTREMELY diversified in every sense of the word, and I REALLY enjoy this melting pot aspect. It's refreshing. There's a pool for Valley Stream residents during the Summer months- a kiddie pool as well. There is also a kiddie playground area. There is miniature golf opportunity, basketball, pickle ball, tennis, and handball opportunity. The 'lanes' are clearly marked for bikers or walkers- in the interest of safety while navigating around the park perimeters. There are restrooms in the onsite administrative bldg. As much as I am a dog-lover-- NO dogs allowed, so less poop to avoid stepping on- which is a good thing👍..poop --only from the ducks. Overall the park is maintained very well...They have adequate amount of trash cans positioned all throughout the park...however sadly, some folks will always be guilty of littering...glad they are in the minority. Hendrickson Park is a great spot. Luv it❣.

Really nice big park for walk and for bringing little children to play. Only negative I would say I wish they kept the water more clean.

Love this park so much. My kids have a blast every time they visit. The only sad part is you can’t get access to the pool unless you live in valley stream.

The park is as beautiful as it was 15 years ago and it really hasn't changed. It's still very nicely maintained, there's tons of birds and greenery, just lovely. Highly recommended.

This is a nice quiet park. Great for running and jogging. This is also a bike line, basketball courts, tennis courts, swimming pool, mini golf, various exercise benches and children playground.

Beautiful park. Very large and fun playground for kids. Well paved walking and biking path around a large lake. With lots of birds and water fowl. Very pretty. With plenty of parking

Really nice and clean park with a pool available for Valley Stream residents and one guest per resident I believe. The park has a walking and biking trail that goes around the pond. There are fitness stations throughout the trail that breakdown exercises for people of all fitness levels. There is a beachy playground for kids and families too. Great place to get some exercise and breathe in the nature.

If you want to find a nice place to just walk or bike, Hendrickson is the place. They have nice trails, that are aesthetically beautiful with trees, and plant life, and wildlife. There's a big pond area, and I was surprised to see some pretty nice sized fish in it, and there's a heck of a lot of them. When you get to the back end of the trail you can cross the street and enter the walking/biking trails of the Valley Stream State Park, which is equally as nice. Just walking the entire trail of both is over 2 miles, and we did it in 42 minutes. Adding to the pleasure was that there were a a good amount of other people walking and biking as well and they all were very friendly, saying hello or good morning. And if you are riding a bicycle Hendrickson also has a station for repairing your bicycle tires and it's FREE to the public. I look forward to walking there again. Also, when walking through the tree-covered trail you get a nice breeze to keep you cool.

Need some peace and quite? My favorite place to unwind and be with nature. So many birds and they are so friendly. Great spots to sit and meditate.

I really love this park because I loveeeee nature, and there is a lake, water, ducks, the trees are beautiful, and all these contribute to a great walk/run/biking. Sometimes I'm tempted to just take a seat and take it all in for an hour or two, but fitness is my priority when I go to the park. Also there is security or police presence who man the park, so there is feeling of safety.
