I thought this place was great! Nice parklands, contemporary art pieces, water features, ducks and turtles! Kids thought it was great too! It's the type of place where you can spend as little or as much as you desire! Come for a picnic, stroll or for inspiration and time out; can't believe this treasure is located so close to Frankston! Will be back to see how it looks in winter.

Been wanting to come here for ages. Such a great mix of picnic areas, sculptures, exhibition, cafe and park. The new pathways will be great to get up closer to some of the sculptures around the lake. We'll be back!!

Amazing place although I only saw a small part of it as I went for coffee then ran out of time (my friend talks alot :)) This place is definitely worth a visit if you are on the peninsula. It is $6 entry fee and if you are into art and sculptures in a beautiful garden, this is your place. You wont be disappointed. Cafe is really good but could do with larger sized coffees. Dog friendly and staff are all lovely!

A great space where people could appreciate contemporary art in a natural setting. The park covers 16 hectares of landscaped gardens and natural bushland and features over 100 sculptures made from a variety of materials. One of the best things about McClelland is that it's very family-friendly. The park is big enough to walk around without exhausting the kids, and there are sculptures that children can climb and crawl into. The park also offers interactive activities for both kids and adults. The gallery space hosts a diverse range of exhibitions, including paintings, photography, and installations. The knowledgeable guides offer tours and educational programs, and the cafe is a great spot to grab a bite to eat or something to drink. Overall, McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery is an inspiring and unique destination that combines the beauty of nature with the creativity of contemporary art. It's a great place to spend a day with the family and appreciate the stunning artworks in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Lots of really interesting and odd sculptures to see! Some of my favourites were: 1. Man with sexy back and gyatt 🍑 2. Monkey head (looks like my boyfriend) 🐵 3. Floofs on tripods (they remind me of the trees in The Lorax movie) 4. Glossy red bear (so kawaii ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) 5. Giant metallic gnome (made me feel tiny ^-^) I’ve uploaded photos of the sculptures mentioned above - have a look! It took my family over an hour to complete the sculpture trail.

A lot of space for the kids to run around and lots of things to find! Cafe is nice and has some lawn games, lovely day out! $6 entry for adults (believe it’s free with a cafe booking)

Lovely, interesting, and educational too! We visited with some retired friends on a lovely sunny day. Spectacular moving sculptures, a lake with ducks, an indoor art gallery, plus a working beehive viewed behind glass. Next time I'll take the grandchildren for a picnic & post some photos as a written review doesn't do it justice 😊

Attended the sculpture park with my baby and fiancé over the weekend. A lovely experience to share with my little one. The cafe staff were rude and unwelcoming. We got an attitude from the woman serving us when we ordered take away coffees. I also visited the cafe today with my mothers group who also wanted to experience the sculpture park. Upon arrival we were asked to move our prams out of the way and 'if we wish to attend in the future we need to book' if we bring prams. We then were given menus which were taken away and told we could not order food because a chef had gone home and that we 'could only order coffee and cake'. Everyone around us was ordering food and upon paying we were hardly acknowledged before paying. Twice in one week the same staff member and others were rude, unwelcoming and plain discriminatory towards us. Would not recommend if you have a pram, small child, infant or desire basic customer service.

Such a great tonic for the soul to be in such beautiful parklands with soaring sculptures that inspire awe and gives a new fresh perspective after the months of lockdown and COVID-19 blues. Highly recommend this place for families and those with dogs. The staff at the cafe were incredibly welcoming and treated my pup to first class service. We took turns to view the gallery as dogs are not allowed inside any of the buildings which is fair I think.

Used to be free entry but $10 fee payable now unless you have the onsite Cafe booking - you will be queried at kiosk closer to the unsealed car parking area. I came to find out that since the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch's generous legacy dried up - the management has had to introduce a fee levy. Fair enough if this is the actual reason for entry fee, as public liability insurance is crippling. Most art installations here are outdoors in a sprawling bush setting, so visiting in good weather is recommended. It is definitely worthwhile to visit - the outdoors massive art installations scattered around & some hidden are often exhibited along freeways, in wineries & other art galleries. The John Meade indoor exhibition on recent Dec 17 visit was one those...you know - roll your eyes thing. I am sure the artist has his dedicated fans for his efforts..yeah..🙄.. Kids will enjoy the visit though pushing anything on wheels will take some effort as you have to navigate unsealed bush tracks on uneven terrain. Saw lots of visitors having picnic in front lawn expanse where created pond is located. Amenities are in main building next to indoor Cafe. The gift shop is a great place to buy art related gifts like calendars, coasters, tea towels, books etc - priced to match exclusive uniqueness. Spray insect repellent in warmer weather!

The $6 entry is well worth it. The walk around is easy and very enjoyable. The sculptures were interesting and thought provoking. Lunch is the cafe was delicious, I highly recommend the barramundi and salmon pie. The staff we all very helpful and cheerful. A day we’ll spent.

A unique place with lots to explore. Seemingly hundreds of sculptures scattered around the park and it's quite fun exploring all the routes to see them all. Our dog was allowed with us (outside early) and there was some open grassland for a picnic too. There is an indoor gallery and cafe towards the centre of the park alongside toilet facilities.

What a great place to visit. A couple of hours well spent. Well kept grounds and absolutely inspiring works of art. The on-site cafe seems to have a very good menu. Unfortunately, time constraints prevented my sampling the fare. Highly recommended for those who like their art, or those who want a different experience.

Just jaw dropping, the perfect day out for art fiends and bushwalkers. The expansive bushland encompasses a collection with the likes of Phil Price, Dean Colls, there's even a Labyrinth!

Some really fantastic sculptures to be seen at the McClelland sculpture park. Spent a few hours wandering around the magic, could have spent a lot more time. Didn't eat at the cafe however the menu looked great. Would like to revisit and spend a few more hours. If you haven't gone, make a point of seeing it, it's worth the effort.

Great place to hang out, chill out even just having a leisurely stroll. It's big enough to take a bit of your time but not enough to tire you out. The sculptures are beautiful and there are many hidden gems for you to find! Plenty of benches and seats around too. Worth checking out!

Delightful! If you like art, you'll like it here. Excellent array of sculpture set in lovely grounds, as well as some exhibits inside. There's an excellent shop and a very good café. Dogs welcome! They even have dog biscuits for them. I'll be back.

Wasn't expecting too much, we live locally and have driven by plenty of times. We were surprised how good it was & took our twins for a nice walk around. Plenty of different sculptures to look at inside & out & there is a cafe you can go to as well.

Cool park with lots of notable sculptures around the park, some with interactive elements. Great way to spend some time in nature with some interesting things to see. If it's hot day make sure to bring a hat and waterbottle as it's not all in shade. Staff at entry and kiosk were kind and helpful. Cafe was nice with some excellent selections. Not a bad option to grab a coffee and go for a walk

We shocked when arrived at kiosk and had to pay $8 pp! Although it was a good walking in the garden among the sculptures, it might not worth it for the money. The garden was full of various sculptures, some demonstrate abstract arts, some understandable to people! A new experience, but not try once more!

  • 4/5 Roop K. 8 months ago on Google • 33 reviews
It is beautiful place for nature walk and art watching. some of the sculptures are understandable to general public like us, but a few could not be understood, unless you are into art. A few things are very interesting to look at, and there is a combination of modern, contemporary and abstract art. Various materials like metal, wood and optic fibre are used to create the art pieces. There is need to work on mosquito control, as there was a lot of mozzies flowing around. Found it really hard to carry out the walk.

Loved it, gorgeous day. Didn't get to check out the gallery or Harry's cafe , probably need a whole day or at least 2 visits to take it all in. But the majority of sculptures were inspiring. Do yourself a favour and go!!!

  • 5/5 John S. 2 years ago on Google
Great sculpture park, wide open bush land to be able to walk through on a nice day with a cup of coffee from the cafe, you can bring a blanket and picnic blanket and relax by the dam, kids are able to run around and feed the ducks while you have adult conversations with friends. The main gallery was closed during the Covid lock down when I last visited but in the past there has been so many interesting exhibits, looking forward to it reopening.

Lovely local escape. Some of the paths are small and a bit overgrown but you feel as if you escape the suburbs for another place.

  • 5/5 Sharma ;. 4 years ago on Google
Great open art gallery - completely free to enter and roam around the acres of natural greenery scattered with Art pieces around every turn. Relax by the lake or roam around through the bushland and admire the creativity of man made art out in the wild

The manager was very friendly, access to the park was great. We had to leave early the next morning to catch the ferry to Tassie, the manager arranged a site for us that we could keep the caravan hooked up for the night. Amenities were clean and well maintained, a drop point is available on site too. Road noise was horrible but not much management could do about. Shops were within walking distance, great neighbours too.

nice place but increasing facilities for the public would help immensely. Finding the toilets was difficult, so some signage would help. Other than that, some picnic tables would be fantastic. Bring a mat if you plan on having a picnic!

A pleasant space for a lovely stroll around admiring outdoor sculptures in amongst bush land surroundings. Awesome spot for a picnic or some amazing take away food. When lock down is over, eat at the cafe. It is top notch.

Great park with sculptures at every turn. Wonderful place to visit for leisurely wander around the grounds finding sculptures hidden in amongst trees and bushland. We didn't visit gallery as closed due to lockdown but Cafe is open for coffees cake. Staff were friendly. You can picnic here and has small lake and small toilets. Easy walk lots of parking but would fill quickly on beautiful weekends im sure.

This park is full of surprises around each corner. BUT ALSO look DOWN while walking around to see the huge sculptures and you never know what you will find....we spotted these gorgeous tiny flowers with round furry leaves. TRULY WONDERFUL 🥰 like the rest of the park.

  • 4/5 Myra Sze Min O. 2 years ago on Google
This park has some interesting sculptures surrounding the walking paths. It will, however, enhance the experience if there were more signage along the walking paths as some paths do lead to a dead-end. The indoor gallery, even though relatively small, has really good and inspiring exhibitions that are worth checking out.

We haven’t visited for a few years and still a favourite. Perfect place for my kids to run a bit of their energy off. Lovely cafe overlooking their grounds with a good selection of food. I love you can grab a bottle of wine to take outside while your kids enjoy some of the outside games. Great gift shop with Australian makers too.

Beautiful to stroll around the bush style park and discover the art works along the way. Dogs are allowed on leash. Paths are gravel and mainly flat or slight incline. Some places the gravel is a bit slippery to control a wheelchair or mobility scooter.. but it is doable. Good size car park.

  • 5/5 Mouse S. 6 months ago on Google
Enjoyed my visit here. Was great discovering the various sculptures as you walk through the lovely park garden. It also has a nice cafe offering a range of light meals that looks over the lake. You don't have to be 'into art' to enjoy this gallery - it offers nice, relaxing environment for all to enjoy.

This is an outstanding venue, I had my wedding here. The artscape in the statuary park is astonishing in its beauty and thoughtful layout. Serene is the description that comes to mind. The gallery's collection is interesting and varied, eclectic you might say. I won't refer to the cafe as such, for despite the simple open space and relatively humble furnishings it qualifies as a restaurant for mine. Lunch today was excellent and the service unobtrusively attentive. Absolutely highly recommended.
