This is a beautiful beach to come to with your dog/s! But the amount of people I see letting their dogs poo everywhere and not pick it up... it won't be nice for much longer. PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG or don't come here at all! It's unfair to the rest of us who clean up after our pooches and try to keep it a leash-free and clean place. Aside from that, I highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a leash-free area on the peninsula.

Tassells Cove is a lovely little beach about 180m long which has shallow, calm water and a sandy beach. The beach is backed by cliffs and some colourful beach huts. This is a popular beach for dogs and is off-leash all year round. There is only a small carpark which holds about 25 cars and you may have to park in the back streets and take a short walk to the beach. There is no water tap at the beach, so bring along a bowl and some water during warmer weather. Copied from Melbourne Playgrounds website.

Best beach dog beach on the bay A safe off leash closed in beach allows the dogs to run free without room for escape. The beach is screened regularly to ensure any nasties in the sand are picked up and cleaned off. Dog poo bins located at the entrance A great spot to walk up the marina, drive too or boatIn

Really great little spot for your dog to meet some new friends and have a good play. I did notice that there was rubbish and I also had to remove a fishing bait from the beach which worried me a lot. However I do not believe the dog owners are leaving this rubbish- as a fishing bait could greatly injure an animal/I noticed many of the owners picking up rubbish while I was there. Just remember to keep an eye out and watch your dog doesn’t get into anything dangerous!

Such a perfect spot to bring your furry companions! My boy Max had the best time for his first beach trip! Be mindful to bring some water and a portable drinking bowl just in case!

Great dog beach - but this place certainty needs fencing for the safety of dogs & small children who run out to the carpark!!! The place also needs a rinse-off shower & a drinking fountain for dogs & humans. Unfortunately due to the deterioration of the cliffs tye dog beach has halved in size so I don't know how it will go in the summer months when visitors to the area bring thier dogs - it already gets packed out in summer and the new size of the beach means even less room for eveeyone - there are no other dog beaches in the area! I hope it's OK & still a fun place this summer... We will report back. Xx

Very nice dog friendly beach. The Cove creates a barrier so that the dogs can stay in the dog friendly area. The water and sand is nice and clean and not deep so kids and dogs can swim. It's also a secluded area so you can have a nice and quiet beach day. The parking however is difficult as the carpark is small and you may need to park further away if it's busy.

This is a great beach with really nice dogs there. It is a great place to allow the dog to run around and you can swim as well which makes it a really nice day out. The dog beach is also separated completely from the other beach so you don't have to worry about bothering other people

Lovely beach for dogs, plenty to see and smell. I found 2 shark eggs washed up on the shore.

Autumn had a wonderful time running and swimming! Gets busy quick and only a small carpark, but worth the walk if you have to park in the back streets.

Had a great time here today. Really nice place. Lots of dogs. Not much parking though. I'd definitely go back.

I'd been recommended this beach by numerous people, however, sadly after visiting today we won't be going back. The beach itself was lovely, super nice clear water, and soft sand. However, the beach itself is small, and despite going up to the far end (we were the only ones there), numerous people that turned up, let their dogs come rushing us. And one rude owner allowed his dog to jump all over our dog, try to steal her dogs and kept getting in her face, and when we asked him to please move his dog away he started getting rude. I suppose this beach is more frequented by locals who enjoy their dogs all wrestling each other
