Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday with 3 others, the food was delicious and service was on point. The lady asked me if I’d been there before to which I said no, she said she’d be giving me a sliver of a shot of alcohol and I was to guess what it was, if I guessed wrong I’d go home and do some push ups 😂. Safe to say I guessed wrong and I’ll be doing push ups when I get home but have fun guessing what it is! Definitely had some fun trying to figure it out!

What a lovely cafe! Very friendly staff, great ambience and lovely selection of cakes. I couldn’t go past the Transylvania cake and loved it. And so excited when my latte came in the large glass. One to keep coming back to so I can try more cakes….

Outstanding authentic food, always fresh impeccably prepared with fantastic service. Then you get to the 2.5m cakes window fridge with more than 30 DELICIOUS cakes! I tried most of them during multiple past visits and its impossible to choose a favourite! Have a multitude to try!

The food is definitely amazing! The portions are big, the stuff is friendly and the vibe is simply great. I did have such a good time there. The owner (Kate) is also super fun and you must try her liquor (I couldn’t guess what it was, but it was delicious). I highly recommend Cafe Transylvania!

This family owned Hungarian cafe is nothing less than a Awesomeness that happened to us on our visit to a nearby lake. From Food to Coffee to Chai to Parties, everything that was ordered was Bang-on. For newbies a two words of suggestion: Mix Grill A La Transylvania Must Try Gives you a peek into beautiful Hungarian home-made sausages Langos with topping of your choice. This flaky version of their Pizza is Must Try. Unfortunately we couldn't try it as we were almost full but definitely returning. Family members running the cafe are genuinely very hospitable and friendly and welcoming, definitely the cherry on the cake. Easy on pocket and yumminess served with lot of love, this is definitely a must.

Accidentally discovered this place on the way to a nearby gym equipment store, and what a surprise! Best meal experience on our trip to Melbourne. Owners have a great sense of humour and make some fantastic food. The beans were the best I’ve ever had, and the spicy sausages and chivapia were fantastic (spicy sausage especially). Will be back and dragging people with me. I wish I took more photos, I forgot to take pictures prior to tucking in, so all I have is the photo of the empty plate! Merry Christmas!

Beautiful food, lovely host. He engaged us in conversation about Romania, I was googling Romania whilst waiting between courses. Will be back to Cafe Transylvania with the family very soon to try further delectable offerings off the menu

The experience was just choice 😘👌 This place was a random pick, and I'm so glad I chose correctly. First off, the atmosphere was just cosy. The staff were a bit rushed, but that's because they give attention to each customer. The service was impeccable with a friendly attitude and great genuine enjoyment in proving a service. Next, the long black was unexpectedly served in a milkshake glass. However, it did not detract from a very pleasant coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My usual quality test of eggs benedict didn't happen due to my time after breakfast serving time (11:30). I was able to have the Big Transylvanian Breakfast. This came with some beautiful homemade beans and sausage. They definitely had the right amount of spices to please the palate. The eggs were cooked poached as I like it. The grilled mushrooms were perfectly cooked and delicious (I don't normally eat mushrooms). Finally, the bacon was well fried. The cakes are a great sweet-chaser. They would easily satisfy any sweet-tooth Honestly, it is hard to find any feedback to balance the praise. The only thing I would have liked would have been butter on my toast. It really isn't worth mentioning this, but because I like to ensure a balanced review, I have to put something. Overall, this place earned its star rating. Definitely a recommendation to go try for yourself! Now I must go do some push ups (if you go, you'll know why) and then return tomorrow to try their eggs benedict and complete my review experience.

Best authentic Transylvanian cuisine you can find in South East suburbs ! It's run by a lovely couple as a family business. Ample parking spaces and good enough room for family dinning. Food is amazing and affordable. Gets busy over weekends but you could also order for takeaways (Menulog/UE) No matter it's a quick bite with a coffee or a main you can hop in and enjoy it here. They also serve a variety of liquors and desserts you can enjoy!

Great service and even better food, we went without a reservation and the lovely server still managed to seat us on a busy Saturday. Will return in the near future and explore the rest of their menu for sure.

Thank you to Café Transylvania! My experience with you has been an amazing one. Food is fresh and just how my mother and grandparents made theirs. You are attentive and give great customer service, especially when it comes to delivery of orders. Amazing quality and a piece of home and heritage. Well done you have my vote always.

Excellent food and outstanding Hospitality. Food taste really great. Make sure you book in advance before going . This is next to hallam Coles. Dont forget to try their cakes; specially Transylvania. All foods are prepared fresh and hand made. So if you want to try something , when you book , better to inform early itself the food you want to try . This will make sure you get it as they will reserve it for you

Outstanding friendly customer service, very happy place! Most amazing, fresh, tasty pumpkin soup I have ever had!!!!! We were given a homemade chevapi to try and it is out of this world with flavor, incredible!! My husband had the goulash and cabbage rolls. He said it’s the best place he’s been in as long as he can remember. I couldn’t pick just 1 cake… they all look so good! They were amazing!! Full of flavor and so fresh! Do yourself a favor and go visit!

My partner, myself and our dog traveled from Sydney to come and eat at Cafe Transylvania and visit Melbourne. The staff/owners were wonderfully kind and very helpful. We ate exceptionally in perfect Romanian style. The mici were so delicious that we had two portions each😋😋😋 The desserts were fabulous. The tables outside are perfect for dog owners: plenty of shade and space. Thanks guys, we hope your place is full of people every day. Everything we got was absolutely delicious! I recommend this place to everyone.

10/10 cafe. If you want something that is out of the ordinary -- although, they do serve ordinary cafe food as well -- and want to excite your taste buds, I highly recommend you try this place out. I'd never had Romanian/Hungarian food before and I'm generally quite reserved with what I eat, but this food was unreal, the coffee is fantastic and the cakes are divine. Kate is the exact type of business woman I love to support. She is the friendliest and bubbliest personality and is always a pleasure to be around. Best cafe experience I've had in a long time. 10/10

It's a raining morning and before heading to Dandenong market we decided to have late breakfast. Did a Google search and found this cafe. Service & Ambience [4] The service was good. Not very busy morning but as the tables are mostly for 4 people, we stood a short while to have a table for two arranged. Friendly owners and took out orders with a smile. Food [3.5]. The coffee tasted more milk than coffee. Though they have the big breakfast, we wanna try their local food. The food (shown in picture) tasted good. We were told we can go with fries, mash potatoes instead of buns. We asked for fries. The fries are crunchy which we like. We like the cake we ordered too. One minor feedback. When we paid for our food, the total amount is more than we expected. Upon going through the items on the bill, there is an extra charges for the fries. We didn't know and told, when we asked to replace with fries. Perhaps we should also ask.

Came here randomly after a bike ride and safe to say it was a wonderful surprise I’ve never had Romanian/Hungarian/Transylvanian food before and can now say it’s one of my favourite cuisines. The service was excellent and it’s something you will just have to experience.

When I say you really need to come here, wow do I mean you really need to come here. Kate and her husband are the kindest and sweetest couple ever. The place just exudes warmth and the service is second to none. They run it like it's a home and the moment you step in you're like family. I strongly recommend you try the traditional dishes, it's like being overseas without being overseas experiencing the authentic cooking tastes of Eastern Europe. 10/10 if I could rate that high on here. P.S. To Kate and her husband, thank you for a wonderful experience.

I visited Cafe Transylvania on a Friday night as part of my assignment to evaluate their service and food quality. I was greeted by a hostess who was dressed as a vampire and had a charming accent. She led me to my table and handed me a menu that featured a variety of Hungarian and Romanian dishes, as well as some themed items. The hostess was very attentive and friendly throughout my stay, checking on me frequently and making sure I had everything I needed. She also engaged me in some witty banter and told me some interesting facts about the history and culture of Transylvania. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the restaurant's concept and menu. The food arrived promptly and was presented in an appealing way. The portions were generous and the flavors were authentic and delicious. I ordered the goulash soup, the stuffed cabbage . Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted fresh and homemade. The highlight of the night was the performance by the staff. I had a wonderful time at Cafe Transylvania and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and enjoyable dining experience. The service was excellent, the food was superb, and the entertainment was captivating. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever visited.

This place isn't much to look at from the outside but don't let that fool you. The food here is outstanding and the staff both in the front and back are lovely. The cakes though is where the place takes things to a while other level.

I adore this place so much. Bought some Sarma, Coffee and Cake on Sunday and it's very delicious. You can tell there are no preservatives or other rubbish in the cake. They hand make it all!! Can't wait till I can sit down and dine in the place when lockdown is over.

Service is fantastic, even when busy (we asked to share a soup, expecting to get an extra spoon. Instead we were surprised with two smaller individual portions!) Food is delicious. Atmosphere (including decorations, music level, lighting) were very pleasant.

I've tried their desserts before and thought they were amazing so I decided to go in and have a look at what else there was. Upon arrival , I was greeted with such a kind and friendly face. Kate was so welcoming and helpful when she heard it was my first time there and without hesitation, she offered samples of amazing food. So hard to resist and was absolutely delicious . Thank you so much for making the experience lovely even if I wasn't able to dine in. I cannot fault the food or service at all.

I'd give 6 stars if I could! Kate and Immi welcomed us like we were old friends despite it being our first visit to their wonderful romanian cafe. They introduced us to samples of their incredible menu through an experience they call a menu sacrifice. The cabbage roll, cevapi, and husband and wife cake were absolutely delicious. And this is not to mentioned the food we actually ordered, being the beef borek and eggs benedictis. The photos speak for themselves. So fresh and cooked to perfection. The hollandaise was to die for! And their coffee? Perfect. Thank you for making our start to the weekend so memorable.

Love this place! Excellent service and great food. We ordered chicken mushroom with palenta, and the mixed grill plate. They have a variety of cakes and hot meals. The owners were very accommodating. We also got free 2 slices of one of the cakes since it was our first time. The Transylvania slice was really good. Highly recommended! Will surely come back 😁
