Food tastes great 👍 they sure love their spices and I like the kick of it. Fish and pork tacos were great but chorizo taco wasn't good because of the rubbery texture skin. It was unpleasant to eat. Corn chips were a bit stale and guacamole was bland. Service was okay. We gave the feedback to a staff when we paid and the waitress said she'll pass it on to the chef.

Loved the food! Staff was really helpful in recommending dishes and then changing it to our liking! Mahim and Kate, you both were amazing and made our dining experience extremely enjoyable. I'll definitely visit again with my mates.

Pretty nice restaurant, staff were very lovely and friendly. Food isn’t super “authentic” I’d say, still yummy but all tacos we tried had essentially the same toppings with a couple changes. None of them were spicy but they do have hot sauces so you can suit your own tastes. Birria tacos were great concept that you don’t always see at Mexican restaurants in Australia, however they personally were a little on the overdone side. Margaritas were delicious and looked beautiful, although the flowers were mildly annoying as I kept accidentally drinking them.

We had Leah who looked after us so well! They seated us (crew of 6 with no reservation) on a full Saturday night. Delicious Mexican food with great recommendations and so many vegan and vegetarian options! There toilets were good with heated outdoor seating and loads of indoor space. Expansive kid-friendly menu and good deals. Facility clean and well maintained with a good atmosphere. Drinks menu was good as well.

Great place to enjoy traditional Mexican food away from the TexMex pub cuisine. The food is made with fresh ingredients and the cocktails are made with high quality liquors. The service was friendly and quick.

This place offers up some really good Mexican food across a wide variety of flavor profiles. Both the dishes we ordered were really good and it was a great experience overall! Even as vegetarians, there were plenty of options to have a great night out, and we'll definitely be heading back to try other stuff on their menu.

Did the Mexican Bottomless Party while visiting Melbourne and was stoked with the service and food. The staff, especially Kate, were super friendly and ready to refill our plates and food as they were emptied. Delicious tacos, endless margaritas and beers, very happy and definitely recommend, whether you're a local or visiting Melbourne!

I’d been wanting to try this venue for awhile having seen it on Instagram so it was on my hit list for a picnic as being a 2 minute drive from Carlton gardens or Fitzroy gardens it’s pretty convenient picnic fare. The venue itself was quite cute so it was a shame we didn’t eat inside and had to brave gale force winds instead but there’s not much I won’t do for a good taco. I was quite full from a heavy lunch so ordered two beef tacos and two beef taquitos. In hindsight I probably should have gone for a bit more variety considering the extensive menu. I enjoyed the taquitos more than the tacos which lacked the fresh zingy flavours I expect with Mexican food. Perhaps it’s just not the sort of thing that travels well as you can see from the photos it doesn’t present as particularly appetising. Overall I was disappointed especially considering how long I’d been looking forward to trying it.

Being a from California, I’ve eaten my share of Mexican food. This place is a definite must when I’m in Melbourne. The tacos were delicious! Great Taco Tuesday value! And the margaritas were tasty! Great food, service, and atmosphere! 5 stars all around. Will definitely come back, and will bring friends next time!

We have been to Hecho en Mexico for Lunch and dinner. You can sit inside or outside. Both choices have their own flair. I really enjoyed their Margarita. We had the classic version and the one with passion fruit, and both were really nice. The food consists mainly of the same ingrediants, no matter if you order Enchilada, Burrito, or Quesadilla. You can chose a meat, vegetarian or vegan filling, as well as how spicy you want your dish to be. We liked the vegetarian Chili and the beef filling. Overall we enjoyed their Taccos, Quesadillas, Burrito, and Enchilada about the same. The service on both occasions was friendly.

Beautiful authentic Mexican restaurant!! We felt so welcomed by Conie who gave us the best recommendations on food, I had mostly vegetarian and they were soooo yummy! My boyfriend had a delicious chorizo empanada and chicken taco which he really like and we felt so full and left in a very happy food coma!! Muchas Grasias

Lovely Mexican venue! Service from Mahim was very accommodating and the vibes were very upbeat. Highly recommend their street style corn for starters and pulled pork tacos, their chorizo tacos were on the saltier side and mushroom quesadillas were under-seasoned. Horchata was way more fruity than the ones I’ve had before.

Absolutely adore this place. Ambiance is great, service is wonderful, and food is fantastic. Our server -I didn't get their name but they were very short- was incredibly professional and looked after their own tables as well as helping new staff members out. Pretty impressive. Got a lemon lime and bitters but it was really really bitter. Even for a LLB. Almost like it had been made with grapefruit. I worked as a bartender for years and I've never had an LLB that tart. So maybe need to revise the recipe somewhat? Would also love to see images of Mexico on the big screen? Might make the place feel even more authentic. The beach scenes felt a bit out of place. Will 100% be back. Best Mexican food around.

This was a unplanned visit. Went out for pizza ended up at this place! No regrets. We ordered the Chicken Burrito, Chicken Quesadilla and Nachos. Serving sizes were very generous and super delicious! The ambiance was lovely and service was great.

I had a really great time here! We came on a Saturday afternoon for their $70 bottomless taco and cocktails deal. The tacos were delicious - my favourites were the chorizo and beef! The cocktails were strong!!! After 2, I was pretty buzzed. So if you're a strong drinker, this is a HUGE STEAL! There's also an option to add churros for $6 - definitely add them!! The staff were very friendly and the ambiance was a vibe! The only critique is the restaurant inside is a little small, so you're sitting pretty close to the table next to you. A wonderful experience at Hecho. The barman Reid concocted the most amazing chili lime cilantro margarita. Popping with flavour. Possibly the best drink I have ever had. Well done! Oh and by the way the food was awesome too.

A group of us came to Hecho En Mexico in Fitzroy on a Friday evening. We ordered a range of plates including prawn tacos, chicken tacos, quesadillas, jalapenos, nachos and cocktails. As we were celebrating a birthday, we were also given churros and brownies for the birthday girl, and the waiters sang happy birthday. Thank you so much to Hecho En Mexico! We had a great time.

The best fish tacos I’ve tasted I’ve tasted in Melbourne! And somehow, they even make a simple dish like nachos taste amazing. Lovely staff, outdoor seating available. Highly recommended!

Great atmosphere, flavourful, authentic food with attentive service by Leikan. Ordered chimichanga, grilled stuffed jalapeños, enchiladas, taquitos and nachos. All of them were yumm and served on time and Generous serving. Coronorita, chilli lime celantro margarita and Mexicolada were the perfect addition to end the night on a high note.

It is a very nice, clean place, with fast service and super delicious food. We liked Conni's kind and patient way of serving us. I highly recommend the Jalisco style Birrias tacos (the best of all), the smoked stuffed jalapeños, the pork quesadilla, the chilaquiles and corn chips with salsa and guacamole. Everything we tried was delicious. The chilli mango cocktail is great. visit them!!

It’s my second time to this restaurant. Their food and vibe are so good. One of their staff David is really nice and friendly. He even remembered my birthday after a small talk hahaha. He really made my day! I might come back again on my birthday🤣

Sat outside to view the beautiful street of Brunswick in Fitzroy and was immediately attended by waitstaff Connie as soon as we sat down. We ordered the beef nachos. We liked it spicy and complimented our dish with $13 Thursday happy hour frozen margaritas. Highly recommend the nachos to share amongst friends. On top of that the service was amazing! Lovely atmosphere with outdoor and indoor seating areas, lots of decor. Our waitress today, Cony, was very sweet and helpful in explaining all the lunch specials and different topping selections. We ordered nachos, trio of tacos, enchilada and chimichanga. Food was great overall but the fish tacos were the highlight!

Emily was very friendly and professional. She was busy training a new staff member and looking after several tables while being extremely patient, professional and accommodating of several dietary requests. I hope she is commended for her excellent service. You’re lucky to have her! The food was also delicious and the cocktails were amazing.
