BEWARE: It costs $99.00 to join and $400 to leave when you sign up for a 12-month direct debit whether you attend or not. When I put my membership on hold for 6 weeks, they kept trying to charge my account. They wanted to charge $5.00 per week until I resumed. Incredulous, I cancelled my direct debit but was threatened with a credit default unless I resumed the payments. When I asked to cancel my membership, I was told I had to pay $400. I decided to resume going there but since then I have been extremely unhappy to visit; I just don’t want to go there anymore. Besides a $400.00 cancellation fee, they were going to automatically rollover my membership. I couldn’t believe it! I’ve been trying to leave the gym for a few months now and the best I’ve been offered is $195.00 to leave. It is cheaper to continue paying the weekly debit instead of the cancellation fee. I will never join a Goodlife Gym again as a result of this saga. There is no justifiable reason for such expensive cancellation fees ever and the sole true reason that they charge this amount is GREED.

Firstly, the third party payment system that they have in place is an absolute joke. Secondly, there is no mutual communication between the staff, i doubt it if the staff even posts notes. Thirdly, on last Monday (the busiest day of the week) 3 main machines were broken; and they charge premium for this?? Every 3 months these guys charge extra $10 of which I wasn't informed about at the time of joining and even after chasing the staff every time this happened , it's still the same (2-3-4 discussions and 6-9-12 months later). I stopped chasing them on this. But recently i got my debit card blocked and i updated the staff on the same day, got my new card in around 10 working days, missed 2 payments within that time and as soon as i called the club to update the card, i was told that because I didn't update them for the second week, they'll not revert $10 (penalty fee for the second week). The same club that hasn't fixed my recurring $10 payment every 3rd month in like 12+ months (I'm still laughing as i write this review). Not worth the extra time and energy. AVOID.

I recently joined GoodLife Waverly Park after many years of Bootcamp. Due to injuries and Work commitments the flexibility being open 24 hours makes it easy. Staff at reception are very welcoming every time we walk in. P.T continues to stay in touch, Group classes and Trainers are excellent and motivating. Highly Recommend!

The gym is old and the equipment has not been updated in over 14 years since the gym was another brand, I think as a local gym in a modern area representing Hawthorn football club and neighbor hood of Mulgrave it should be much more updated as the front desk is smelly and odd.

Phoned up Jells Rd gym, and given price for casual visit, arrived 10 mins later to be charged $10 more - ie $30 not 20. When queried told bad luck . Upon insisting I was accused of being abusive. Poor form . Can see why you have only 3 star rating.

I signed up for a membership with a cooling off period + 7 day free access. Later decided to end the membership during the cooling off period due to personal reasons and to avoid fees. I called them up NUMEROUS TIMES to request a cancellation. To my horror, they debited two amounts from my bank account. I called them up to complain, only to notice lack of remorse and accountability. They said they "apologise for the inconvenience" and to visit the club in-person to sort things out i.e. to get the refund. This is unacceptable!! I am NOT going to waste my time and go there in-person. Commercial gyms with governance and proper accounts management would have never let this happen in the first place, they would've given clients the option to request a cancellation online via their user account. Let's see if they return my call on Monday afternoon. I DO NOT recommend if you want to save your money, have more flexibility in terms of membership and expect to see realistic weight loss results. The only exception would be if you're on a more advanced level in terms of fitness, need no personal trainer, don't require any of that flexibility and wouldn't mind signing up for a contract. Otherwise private health clubs with personal training are 110% better and worth the investment!!

This post is in regard to exceptional service from Yas and Adrian. I signed up with Goodlife not too long ago, after long-term injuries had kept me from using a gym. Though surgery seemed to have fixed these issues, they had flared up again and were once again going to keep me from using the gym as I would intend. I was confused as to what this meant for my contract, and was very concerned I would have to see the full cost out no matter what. Luckily for me, Yas was working at the front desk and offered to go through all of my options, putting my mind at ease. I thank them both!

Customer service manager was quite rude when dealing with my questions. No covid safe procedures in place, hard to find cleaning equipment let alone staff wearing masks, most dont even bother. Equipment outdated. Some trainers seem nice but found others quite dismissive when asking for help. Great location though. Good range of classes available too.

Not bad as far ad the gym goes. The equipment is pretty old and worn but still works. The problem with this gym is the car park. The local residents park here and I didn't see some cars move in months. It can take 20 Min to find a car park.

The gym facilities are great. But the membership process is a huge disappointment. I don't ever recommend locking yourself into a gym contract especially with these folks. I had to move houses recently and I moved exactly 59.5kms away. There's absolutely no way that I can use the facility, even if I wanted too. I tried to explain this to the staff and they wouldn't budge on letting me cancel my contract. They instead recommend I find someone to take over the contract because i have a good deal at $14 something a week (I don't know anyone in the area). What is stopping the gym from offering a new client my contract if it's such a great deal? The next person who walks in, give them my membership. Gym memberships are an injustice to people. I can't even use the facility! I know that there are actual clauses in gym contracts where if you move over 30 or so kms away then you can get out of your contract, not goodlife though. I can't even have my membership transferred to another goodlife gym as the closest is just under 40kms away. Goodlife is stopping me from taking control of my health and being able to use my money to use a gym that's close to my home because i can't justify paying for two gym memberships. It's disappointing and extremely unfair. I won't be able to attend another gym for many months. You can't possibly expect me to believe that my measly membership is making goodlife bank. What's the point?

Recent upgrades to all the cardio and weight pin machines make this health club an awesome place to train for all ages and abilities, there is a lot of variety and abundant amount of equipment. Staff are super friendly and helpful, I wished I moved to this gym earlier.

Normally go to a different branch, but was in the area so visited this gym. Great facilities, lots of weights. I went 7.30am on a weekday when you'd expect it to be busy and had no issues with finding weights/machines that I wanted. Shower/change room facilities were clean and organised. I also liked the view out onto the old VFL Park and the John Kennedy statue ("Don't think, do!"). I didn't give 5 stars because there didn't seem to be a place to put a mat down for a core workout, which was a little annoying.

At around 9:15am today, I called the club and was transferred to the sweetest woman named Jacinta. She went above and beyond to make my experience in life and customer life, she offered services gym staff aren't paid for. Whatever this woman is being paid, please give her a raise, she changed my mental health this morning and made me believe in humanity again. She spoke to me like a mother, she has no idea who I am but took the time to make me feel better today. I appreciate you Jacinta! Thank you x

I am grateful there is health club so close to home! Located at the Waverley Park, it is a lovely location indeed! Though not as big as the other Goodlife gyms, and not as many classes, this is still a good gym. If one knows what they are doing, one does not need to have many classes. This is a good local gym

Was booked in for a body pump class at 6:15pm, drove all the way from work to attend the body pump session only to find out that it was a cancelled session and class was changed to Step with no notice at all. Other goodlife clubs are so much better. Never had this issue with other clubs.

I do enjoy coming to this gym and participating in the classes. The only inconvenience is the KuboFit app that they are going to phase out soon anyways. But I do wish that there is another way to get in using your phone rather than a separate card.

When your contract says $14.95 per week and no sub clauses to increase and they continually charge a higher weekly rate. Plus additional odd payments every week and even during a freeze period for medical reasons (where no charges were supposed to be applied) When queried via email they stop responding. Gave them the benefit that they may have missed the email, so I followed up again and they refuse to respond or provide reason. Crap customer service. Been to other Goodlife gyms and the staff are much more professional and actually acknowledge the members. Wish I could give less than 1 star, such a joke!

Great variety of classes to suit members. It's a small room *I wish it was bigger* I understand this is out of their control so still 5 stars as classes are great and timetable offers something for everyone.

Friendly staff and tonnes of equipment. Only things I would say need to improve are: - A lot of the equipment could have the dust removed - It gets way too hot inside during summer
