Buyer beware!! First visit to this shop and had a chat with one of the owners and discussed my tank and parameters looked at some corals and was advised to take a Clove Polyp coral. Didn’t pay to much for it approximately $50. However the coral once I got it home never opened up after a few days I called in and was advised to try moving it to a different spot in the tank and so that’s what I did. Keep in mind this isn’t the only coral in my tank. And everyone of the others are happy and vibrant. See picture! But still noting in fact it started looking like it was rotting so I called again and was told to bring it in and they would look after me. So I made the drive and when I got there I was attacked by the owner and his wife. They wanted to charge me to test my water then started making comments and excuses and what not. That’s when I decided it wasn’t worth my time and so I said either do the right thing and replace it or I will share my experience. And so here it is. If you want my opinion avoid this place and go somewhere where they put there customers first. What a shame.

Amazing staff who love and genuinely care for their fish, the place is spotless! They were incredibly helpful in giving us supplies and tips for setting up our very first tank! Very knowledgeable and reliable, and most of all the creatures in their care are not just stock to them, they genuinely care about the marine creatures' quality of life! Highly recommend!

I went in search to start my Saltwater aquarium, I visited every shop in our vicinity and met some great people accompanied buy some really nice set ups but!!! Nothing compared to the range of live stock, products & cleanliness of this shop. Not to mention the knowledge, passion and customer support that is second to none! If you are ready to start an aquarium or looking for that one fish/coral please go speak to Andy and the team, you will not regret it 👍

Freshwater fish and plant collection is rather limited. Quite a few driftwoods but almost no rocks. But the saltwater collection is great. I love how all the tanks are extremely clean, fish all swim happily. I also really really like how each species is clearly labelled with their ideal water conditions like PH, KH, etc. This is super helpful and I'm surprised none other stores do the same. Oh and the staff made me feel very welcome.

Bought my gorgeous angel and 2 x cory's here and they are absolutely thriving, fantastic fish and so healthy. I also got some guppys which lasted a while too but guppys don't like me 🤣 Going to go back for more angels, their tanks have huge ones! 😍 Awesome store, prices for food and accessories are fantastic here too! Highly recommend!

Feels like coming to visit old friends every time I come to visit - (which is admittedly quite often) I’m always greeted with a smile and questions about how my fish are doing, and some friendly banter, These guys actually care about their customers and their fish even after they leave the premises, I think by this point in the hobby I have been in every aquarium in Melbourne and Fishworld is hands down the best, cleanest and friendliest… you can’t go wrong here!!!

Seriously, first time I’ve been here and I will be back, it’s now my go-to spot. There display tanks are STUNNING! Everything was so well taken care of! I could spend hours in there looking at all the tanks! Not only did all of the staff greet us when we got there, everyone was so nice the whole time we were inside too! I felt so welcomed in the store! Helped us pack up our clowns in a box to help the get home safely from the four hour journey! Not only that, they checked in with me about my tank, asked me some questions! Everyone was so lovely, I can’t wait to visit again! Not only that, my clowns are so beautiful and happy and loving their new home! 100/10 😊😊

I were at the shop to purchase some gold fishs for my daughter birthday. Once the lady know that we don't have a fish tank, then she told my son to lower down the voice and not touch the fish tank. She asked us to get out because she want have more people in the shop. We were there following the social distance rule. If you do care about the rules, you should not left that many customers get into the shop at the same time. My son has autism, not he intentionly talking. He just get excited about the fishes. Your attitude is examly rude. (Please note, I did edit my review, just want to give more details of what happened on the day. My son only touched the fish tank, once you told us off, he stopped. This was happened before second lockdown. What do you mean i dragged my autism son into this. You might not be a mum yet, if you are, you will understand how hard it is. If you don't want kids in the store, you should put a sign outside. This store is not kids friendly)

We travelled 3 hours from rural Victoria to bye coral as its our first time setting up a salt water tank. We didn't know nothing about anything we were doing. But left this store knowing exactly what we needed to no and how to do. Use r amazing people whole actually care about there products and the people that r taking care of what they buying. Also they regularly check up on how things r going. Thanks so much and will definitely b back.

We'll set up little store with plenty of staff and very clean we'll maintained tanks! A good range of accessories. But is catered more towards salt water fishkeeping! They have a limited amount of fresh water stock and very little amount of scaping options for such tanks also! Apart from that it's a nice store and worth a visit if you're near by!

Andy and the team are always friendly and happy to answer any questions. I drive across town to come and see what’s new, as there is always a fantastic variety on hand. All livestock I’ve purchased from here has always acclimated nicely to my tank and each one has been happy and healthy.

Very arrogant, rude and unprofessional attitude from one of the workers. After asking for frozen fish food to be wrapped in extra paper i was met with horrible customer service and was told that if i didnt like it i could have my money back. Never been treated so poorly and ive been coming here 10+ years.

It's deferentially the best fish shop in Melbourne. Not only they have a wide range of live stocks and accessories, but also very knowledgeable and helpful. Andy is a very nice person and he helped me a lot in setting up my first fresh water and salt water tanks, I won't forget his support. Couldn't speak more highly of the staff at Fish World! My husband has had some PH issues with his tank & they have gone above and beyond to help him sort it out. Fish world is the weekend “must” visit place by John and Gilbert, so many pretty fishes and colourful corals that hv to buy to fill in our 3ft marine tank + yummy treats to fill in Gilbert’s stomach, thanks Andy and Leanne & Thomas to always welcome us with your big smiles.

I have recently changed aquariums and have been dealing with Andy at fish world aquarium .My reef tank had nothing but problems with my fish and coral dying. Instead of selling additives Andy started at the start with simple water testing and advise to get it sorted .My tank has gone from a disaster to looking absolutely amazing. First and foremost I am totally new to aquariums and taking care of beautiful fishes. I recently got a tank and the other fish shop stuffed it all up. Staff had minimal to none knowledge and they never wanted to help if there was something wrong with the water in the tank. All they said was buy this medicine and that. And honestly it poisoned the whole tank and 3 of our fishes died. Then I contacted fish world aquarium and I'm so lucky I spoke with Andy and he without any hesitation helped me straight away over the phone and asked me to send the video and photos of the tank as well as fishes. And mind you I never shopped there before still he helped me. That's someone with a passion towards the marine life. For Andy these little swimming friends are life not a money making thing. He loves what he is doing and even after hours he remembers you and your tank issues and if you need any help he is available to help but keeping in mind he has a young family too. His staff is equally trained and well informed with the whole process but if they cant help then Andy is always there as he is more experienced and he is been in the business from last 17years. As a small business the quantity and quality of product is excellent. So I personally recommend him over anyone out there in the market. I have tried and tested few shops but cant fail them at all. Please help the small businesses like Andy's so that he can help you all without you wasting your money with people who have no experience and knowledge.

There is so much to learn on the go in the reef keeping hobby. You can tell as soon as you walk in the door that Fish World Aquarium's team are genuinely there to guide you through it. Massive selection of new fish each week at great prices. Very friendly staff and importantly they don't try to sell you stuff you don't need (or don't need yet). I've nearly filled my tank with their fish. I can't wait to fill it with their coral too!

If you want anything for your beloved fish, this is the place to go from my experience. Price is as cheap as Ebay. They sell good quality products. Also, there were wonderful staffs to assist me. Very knowledgeable about how to care fish and friendly.

I would never shop there. They sold me a white hammer coral saying that it is a rare coral then I realised it was a bleached coral. They're just after your money. Never go back.

What can I say but absolutely great selection of marine fish and corals the customer service is second to none great communication and knowledge and very affordable fish/products. If u need a specific fish or coral they always try there best to get what u want if available at the time. But all n all great family environment i cant recommend them enough big thank u to Andy and Leanne for everything you've helped me with really appreciate cheers.

We are relatively new to the fish keeping family and have learned a lot in the past few months. We had started this journey by visiting several local aquariums. As we encountered difficulties we found that they were happy to sell us Expensive products to try to solve our problems with very little success. Thankfully we decided to pay Andy and Leanne a visit. Immediately they suggested that we decrease the number of products we were using and that we concentrate on small daily water changes to get water parameters under control. Finally we are here thanks to their advice and support. Andy & Leanne are not all about selling you products you don’t need, they really care about the health and welfare of your fish. If you are looking to bring fish into your life, pay them a visit, it will make the journey much easier. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We have brought 2x fish tanks from Andy and Leanne’s store at Fishworld and they are very professional, great advice, brought great fish, very friendly, Andy has a great sense of humor and is interested in how your fish are going once you buy them !! And is always happy to share his knowledge honestly!! The best thing we love about this store - is HOW beautifully well kept and clean they keep their aquariums! Which is a Huge Plus for us!
