I have been to that restaurant many times and the food is always delicious. Friendly staff and nice ambience. Sometimes the wait can be very long though. Up to an hour when it is very busy.

Overall experience is good even during peak hours. The staff is friendly and polite. One of the waitresses forgets to serve mango lassi which I need to remind them. The food portion is quite an average size, also good for sharing if you're not a big eater. The menu price is considered reasonable for its location. Nice ambient for both outdoor and indoor seating. The bar area and cashier counter are too congested for customers to make payments and take away.

After a while i enjoyed indian foods to the fullest. If you are in search of authentic punjabi food, go for Desi Dhaba Tarneit. They offer desi ambiance as well. Mind blowing interior and welcoming and friendly staff really drew my attention. I will definitely go there again.

I wish I could give them 0 star. I have placed an order from them, spent $58 for large paneer tikka and 2 containers of gobi Manchurian. I have paid $19.90 for each gobi Manchurian, but what I was got was half half containers of everything, which sucks a lot when you have spend this much but was not worth it all. Never going to them again!!!!!!! Thanks to Uber for refunding me my every dollar.

I'd love to show you pictures of the food here but I got carried away because its the best Indian food in Melbourne! As a UK expat I like to think that I know a good curry and their goat bhuna is excellent, full of flavour and definitely worth trying. The owner Akash and his staff are welcoming and friendly, and accommodating. If you're not over in the west of Melbourne (Tarneit) make a trip, it's definitely worth it!

I got take away last night from Desi Dhaba. The food was great, but the customer service was disgraceful. It took numerous times to get through, to place the order. I left msg on their answering service and no one called me back. Then when picking up my order, the amount was more than listed on menu pricing. I also asked about the 10% discounted, listed on the menu for direct telephone orders. That was what annoyed the lady (employee) even more. She applied it, not willing and then totally ignored me after that. With no further eye contact. Disgusting behaviour. They shouldn’t advertise it, if their not willing to do it. Disappointing.

This is a good place to have Indian Dishes. The environment is like desi dhaba. Enjoy a handful of rugged India. Recommended!

I have visited this restaurant many times and must say that this is one of the best restaurants in Tarneit. Open till late everyday. Food tastes great and portions are also good. Customer service is amazing and can handle busy timings as well. Atmosphere is good but can get noisy sometimes. Recently tried the Fish dishes (They are a must try). Other must-try items are Dal tadka , goat curry , noodles, maki di roti and saag, poori channa and mango kulfi. Fridays and Saturdays are really busy so I recommend reserving a table beforehand.

We always love . Food is amazing and never went wrong. Always consistent taste that’s why we always come back here. This chef has magic in his hands. And staff and management are really friendly. Glad its near to my home so when no cooking desi dhaba is the best

Went here today and really enjoyed the food. Five star for the food and good service. Only point to improve is the loooong wait after order and not serving all guests together.. maybe something to improve. But overall great new addition to Indian cuisine in the west

We had our lunch at DD, the ambiance was very nice & excellent hospitality by Aman , Navjot - very friendly, excellent suggestions/recommendations on food. We had Fish Amritsari, Dhabey da tikka - very delicious , Amritsari was irresistible , we had to take one more home. Main course - Kaka style butter chicken very tangy & medium spicy - Love this style, unlike the normal butter chicken, Makki da roti was also excellent with Saag - all food was served fresh & hot. Chai was amazing that we ended up relishing it with no sugar. The best part was soup - hot & sour chicken, manchow - very few places serve soup and the soup here was delicious, superb for the winter. Desserts - Gulab jamun, Paan , Rasmalai & Mango Kulfi were a feast to enjoy. Awesome that I found this near to my home, I will surely visit them again.

Desi dhaba has very authentic indian taste for Punjabi style food. We have been frequent visitors to desi dhaba Tarneit restaurant and we love the food there. Staff is very friendly too and would definitely recommend desi dhaba for Indian food.

Having a Pakistani background and commercial cook with passion for traditional spicy food I never liked any Indian restaurant ever food wise. When friend invited me to Desi Dhabba in Tarneit I had different experince, starting from welcome by Owner and staff, tasty, yummy spicy food and Lassi, icecream and pan on top of it. Best Indian food and restaurant. Highly recomended.

We went there for fathers day. The place was fully packed. Still the manager GK accommodated us!!! The food was awesome as usual. We had malai chicken, highly recommended, butter chicken, shahi paneer and saag. The highlight was definitely saag, it was really pure sarso(mustard) taste unlike a lot of places which go heavy on palak(spinach). Amazing staff, even though it was a packed evening they did their best!!! Thank you GK

Have been visiting Desi Dhaba since their start in CBD. This review is focused on Tarniet outlet only. Went for dine in on a busy Saturday night and I was happy to see top notch service from the time we entered. All waiters were helpful, frequently checking on our needs and always happy to accept our requests. All this with a smile. One example is, they voluntarily came around to enquire if we needed a bigger plate or comfortable having in our current plates in between our meals Food was good, tasty and quantity just right for me. I am a fan of their spicy dishes the Angara chicken and bhayankar bakara. The interior carry forward the theme they have in CBD. I hope the service continues to remain to these standards. A visit to Desi Dhaba won't disappoint.

The best North Indian food I have eaten in Victoria. Closest to the taste of Punjab / Haryana.

We had an awesome dinner at this restaurant. The food was fresh and tasted really good. Tandoori portions may be improved with a bit more meat. Also the buriyani need to be a little dryer.

Usually their dine in food is excellent, actually bit of a fan of their food. But yesterday when i ordered take away food, I was thoroughly disappointed in their consistency and quality. Not good. Watch out when it comes to take away food.

Great place for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is spotless, and the food is exceptional. The malai chicken is superb, and comes with a delicious garlic naan, slatgered in delicious ghee. Their signature paneer makhani is mild and flavoursome. Great friendly service. Love the Bollywood theme.

Specially called them to put less oil in my chickpea. This amount of oil was put which i tried to seperate in small bowl. Desi dhaba Please ask your chef to listen the instructions.

Please rename your vegetable and chicken normal and schezwan fried rice as cabbage rice. And also rename your masala lemonade and coke as chat soda. Very bad food experience and will never visit here. We wanted to celebrate our happiness today and unfortunately came to this resturant. Wasted our money.

We just loved the hospitality and the ambiance as well as the dishes we ordered. So far no other Indian Restaurant comes closure to this one in Melbourne in my opinion. For vegetarians, be mindful when you order platter, it comes with Samosa but I am sure non vegetarians will love it. Main course was also very delicious. As per our discussion with the staffs including the owner, all the species are home made and hence you will feel the difference.

Went here last weekend with my partner. Not to say we are professional food critics or anything but we have been to a lot of indian restaurants, many many many in Melbourne, and trust me when I say this is probably the best Indian dining experience we have ever had. The best not only because of the homily atmosphere and the friendly customer service, but in terms of food and flavour, THE BEST. Within 10 minutes all the food was gone because it tasted that good, and the value for money was surprising as we didn't expect the portions to be that generous. To the manager/waiter who said if we don't mind to leave a review on Google. Apologies on being a week late but you 100% bet I'll leave the best review out there so it convinces everyone to come here and give this place a try at least once! Think about it, taking my time to write such a long review after a week, either I'm crazy or the food has left it's mark ensuring this is going to be our regular Indian lunch/dinner option. Great job to all the staff and compliments to the chef.

Tonight we decided to pop in and try some of the local indian restaurant in Tarneit. Staff were amazing, asked for recommendations of what was popular. Which they were extremely helpful with. Even the floor manager help us with ordering our deserts tonight. Great place any time of the day with staff like that. Will definitely come again.

I have been to this place so many times but never got a chance to write a review. The best thing about this place is that it’s open till late. Staff is lovely and welcoming. They have two managers, seems like the new manager has joined recently. Both managers are really nice and accomodating. Service is good too. Coming on to the food, their chilli paneer is amazing. Dal makhani is my all time favourite. It’s a kids friendly restaurant. The pictures on the walls are totally Bollywood, gives pure Desi vibes. They have seating outside as well. Heaters are installed alongside each table. The outside seating is quiet vibrant. They also make in house kulfi, pista, paan and mango. Other than that they have kulfis from Desi Kothi too. The new manager will specially come to your table and ask you about the food and service. Great effort! Highly recommended. Will definitely come back again.

Service staff is great, fast and very friendly. They are good at suggesting options and helpful. The manager is also good with service and customer interactions. Great vibe, but the music is so loud and it feels like a very noisy environment sometimes. Paneer chili garlic is amazingly delicious and a must try for vegetarians.... Cheesey garlic is a Must try with it.... For awesome spicy and garlic flavor.

Great chicken 65. I usually prefer the dry kind but this was a saucy kind with a nice twang. This was definitely the star of the meal! I enjoyed the assortment of the tandoori platter. The seehk kebab was my fav . Their spicy is really spicy so maybe order a medium on the chicken chowmein if your want to enjoy the flavour more. The chole bhatura was ok a little bland after tasting the other items first but overall just not bad. All in all if I was passing the area I wouldn’t mind trying more of their menu

Very funky, Great food, great staff. We ordered seekh kebab, chilli chicken and butter chicken. And Lassi that we had after years and the taste hit the spot. Must try.

Totally amazing food... Excellent service. The taste of the food was closer to home cooked rather than your typical very heavy and oily restaurant type food. Def going back soon

Worst experience ever. Worst customer service. Not recommend for Indian foodies because we order masala papad and you can see what we served. Then in main course we order tawa style paneer and it was to oily and taste was bad.
