In all my time heading down to this spotlight(which is many) I have always been met with unhappy staff. Now they are fine to deal with besides the odd one or two, however I get the sense that there is poor management huddle behind the shops facade. They are always bickering and bitching about eachother, yup in front of customers. A fine shop to go to for supplies, but it's not a nice place to go. I had a terrible experience when I had my newborn child, that left me in tears and another woman helping me, because they just have an attitude of 'I don't care, not my job' Anyway, I hope something shifts in this place and the staff become happier and more helpful.

Floor staff were nice. Duty manager was not. Click collect was quick and easy.

Lady behind the counter in the fabric department was so rude and dismissive - mentioned I was a novice and she basically dismissed me altogether. Such poor customer service!!!

The employees are so grumpy that it makes everyone’s experience so bad and it makes me never ever want to go to spotlight. I find it atrocious that I walk into spotlight and get hit with this wave of negativity. The young employees are usually cool though (give them a raise)

Huge store with a wide choice of whatever you need for home, would it be ready made as bedlinen, decorations or kitchen stuff, or craft supplies to inspire your inner talents and make yourself and everything around beautiful! You can dive in those fabrics section forever ☺️

Huge shout out to Jodi and Tara for helping me. What absolute angels. Went way above and beyond. Spotlight should be very grateful for these two. Will be returning simply because of their service ❤️

It was awful I wanted a fabric which was priced at $4.00mt and was surrounded by other fabric at same price. They refused to sell me the fabric telling me the price had been switched and two staff members stood with arms crossed in front of me. I didn't buy the fabric and won't be back . I have been shopping there for 45 years now more.

Since the new layout, the fabrics are jammed together so tightly you can barely look at them or feel them ...just couldn't figure out what the problem was, used to love spotlight now no fun at all

It's a magical world of everything. From sparkles for kiddies drawings to all kinds of art for all ages. The best linen, colours, and an amazing selection are available.

Some excellent pre-xmas bargains along with some really great quality craft kits. I've managed to cover 70% of my xmas gift shopping with unusual and entertaining gifts.

Trying to pay was a real chore. One assistant to serve all customers. As I finally made it a second came on. Not the assistants fault, but the store having a lot attending to shelf packing and not customer service at the checkouts.

Had a nasty experience when I wanted to look at fabric behind the counter. Talked to very rudely. Fabric is something you need to see up close and feel.I was made to feel like a criminal and felt the woman took delight in telling me I wasn't allowed to step behind there.Have gone to Cranbourne ever since, even though its further for me as the staff are lovely there. I needed something today and popped in there and witnessed the exact same lady being very rude for the same reason to another customer who looked very humiliated too.Its (gustapo like) she is just waiting to abuse someone. She says it's a worksafe issue but needs to be taught diplomacy.

Great place to get a range of craft, home decor, materials etc. There very often seems to be a long slow queue, however, with no dedicated place for click and collect. Unless you cannot get around the store easily there doesn’t seem to be much advantage using the click and collect option as you just have to queue up with everyone else anyway.

I was in the party section looking for birthday paper and I ask this lady if they have 21st paper. She rudely said the paper is there. If she bothered to have looked I was standing right in front of the rolls. Blowing up balloons was obviously more important. When I said thanks for not being helpful she had the nerve to say I’m working on my day off. What a ridiculous thing to say to a customer. So if you come into work on your day off it entitles you to be rude? The other staff were so pleasant. Judging by no reply to my review would suggest that they don't read reviews or let their staff get away with poor behaviour.

Still waiting on an answer from 2 weeks ago wouldn't replace a faulty product even with proof of purchase was told I'd get a call back from manager but I highly doubt that's happening. Australian consumer law means proof of purchase is good enough for faulty goods. Next time I'm in store I'll directly ask to speak to manager as I am a store manager myself sometimes it is the only way to get an answer.

Usually, if I need crafty stuff, I just pop down here. After the absolute sassy behaviour shown by a staff member the other day, maybe I'll just amazon my craft items from now. I was after a certain 250ml glue. Showed that they had a lot of stock online, so they were headed into the store. PDT showed that yes, there was some, and it could be out the back. The next lady who came out said nope, website is never up to date, so essentially never trust it. If you decide to trust it, you do so at your own risk." I asked when it was coming in to be told,'I don't know, check the website'. Absolutely useless, no one knows what's going on. Terrible business model if stiff cookies if you drive half an hour for a product showing in stock on like isn't even on the floor.

The staff at spotlight material desks are always helpful and they do have a massive range of materials, if somewhat generic but what can you expect. I've always found something to buy if I have a project in mind and their other departments have a great range too which are mostly reasonably priced. Members get extra discounts too so consider that as well

Always a great place to shop for my partner and I, very helpful staff and plenty of parking 5 Stars

Great selection of TONS of craft stuff. Prices are reasonable. The yarn selection was downsized since my last visit, dropping the old big brands, which was disappointing. Also, no clear overhead signs for where and how to proceed toward the checkouts and main exit, which may trigger anxiety in those who are prone to lose orientation in big stores when unfamiliar with the layout.

22/02/2023… Very average customer service. Curtain department in particular was woeful. I’m not a regular shopper so I’m not sure where everything is, on the past two occasions I’ve been there the man serving (I use the term loosely) pointed me in the vague direction of what I was looking for then continued to chat to other sales staff…not a customer in sight… he did this twice until I said I would really like some assistance and one of the other staff came to help. I think it’s time for a bit of extra training!!

The staff at the cashier was rude and looks like that she does not want to do her job. She is not helpful. Others take time to check your vip membership details. I always shop here but the old lady in the counter seems to be very impatient or maybe just sick of her job.

5 stars for the staff, 5 stars for the shopping wonderfulness, 0 stars for the queues wait times, potentially due to lack of staff. I was served by a lovely person. He was friendly and helpful, but I waited sooo long in the cut fabric queue. I wanted to impulse buy numerous other items on the way out, but didn't because the exit queue was massive. Fab store, fab staff, poor customer and staff experience. I think this is a spotlight wide issue. not just Frankston.

Great selection, staff not so knowledgeable, check out team busy talking amongst themselves and often do not even greet you. Has occurred three times now.

It’s a shame there isn’t staff working in the store with practical product knowledge. I always check the prices as often they scan different at the register to what’s online, in the brochures or ticketed on the shelf.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They show patience and confidence when dealing with people who are intellectually disadvantaged.

Shame this visit wasn't a great success. Actually their online order system let me down. When I contacted the store they did their best to organise everything for me.

  • 1/5 Rene F. 1 year ago on Google
Very poor service. 3 staff standing around chatting, literally had to wait for them to finish their conversation before they offered any assistance. Had no idea if they stocked what I was looking for and sent me looking for myself only to discover they don't even stock it.

I mean, it's a Spotlight, you know? Shelf stock was not great but the staff were very helpful. The parking is pretty good here.

  • 5/5 Lesley M. 1 year ago on Google
Very helpful and courteous staff. A very large store needs sufficient staff to help customers negotiate the aisles and this store certainly delivered on that service. Thank you.

First time being in since the refit. Staff seemed a tad rude, not helpful, snappy to customers. It was harder to find the fabric I wanted. It's still better than the Cranbourne Spotlight though.

Went in at the last minute to buy a Halloween costume. Only needed 1 item and knew exactly what we needed. To be fair, we did arrive about 1-2 minutes before closing but we were turned away by the manager, even after expressing that we would take under 30 seconds to retrieve the item. The manager then proceeded to lie to us, telling us that no customers were still in the store. 2-3 customers walked out 5 minutes later. I know we were late but I just feel as though it was a little heartless and poor customer service. It left us unable to attend our Halloween event and virtually ruined our night. Partially our fault but still annoyed at management for this. Other stores would be much nicer and much more lenient.
