We had a wonderful stay! It's incredibly central and within walking distance of everything you want to see. The hotel's receptionists are very helpful with everything from booking boat tours on the Douro to recommending great restaurants. Breakfast was very good, with healthy options, but also guilty pleasures. It's a pet friendly hotel, but it was absolutely amazing how friendly they are. When we got to our room, there were two bowls and a dog bed and we had a backyard/terrace for our dog. Superb customer service! We will definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous new hotel in Porto! We weren't expecting to stay an extra night in Porto and needed to book a room right away. Fortunately Se Catedral had a room available. This hotel by far exceeded my expectations, rooms were decorated in a trendy and clean way, bedding was super comfortable and cozy. The staff was was made this stay absolutely incredible. I don't know that I've ever stayed at a hotel with such a friendly and hands on staff members. The first room we had had some heating issues (it was very warm) so they immediately moved us to a room with a deck and working A/C. It's a testament to the quality of the staff members on how quickly and satisfactorily they addressed our issue!!

Great spot in Porto! Close to everything. All the concierges were very helpful. The room was nice with a city view and a comfy king bed! Continental Breakfast was also very good, and a great way (and spot) to kick off your day. Felt very safe here (and generally in the city as well). We didn't eat any meals at the restaurant, but the menu looked decent. We did enjoy some afternoon cocktails, and the ones we ordered were very good!

Beautiful hotel, unique decoration that is both modern and still warm. Staff is super helpful, and really want you to have a nice stay not only in the hotel but also they feel proud of their city and want you to enjoy it. Good location, walking distance to Cathedral and metro /subway station. Safe at night, lots of activity and light if you want to leave/come back late at night. Street is on makes it also physically easy for ubers/taxis to pick up and drop off, regardless of how much luggage you have :-)

I had a wonderful stay. The hotel is super cute, full of details where you least expect it. The attentions of the staff, their kindness, willingness to help were excellent, they are the best and most attentive. Great breakfast and restaurant menu as well. I would like to add that I was going to stay in another hotel but I had to leave because it was terrible and I had no backup plan, I remembered that some friends were at Se Catedral a few days ago and I called to see if there was availability. Luckily there was the last room left and I immediately arrived, and, as I said before, I received the best attention. The hotel is super well located and also the staff guides you and recommends to do and visit in the beautiful Porto. I must say that it is an excellent price and quality. Don't hesitate to go.

Very cool hotel Location: Perfect. Within walking distance to everything in old town (just be prepared to tackle those hills) Hotel is brand new so everything is fresh and modern. I normally stay at Marriott brands and this reminded me of a better version of Moxy hotels. Heavy on the neon lights, colorful and minimalistic. It is pretty hip (which was interesting considering how many older individuals were staying there). Room: Very comfortable. Bathroom was great. large shower with plenty of hot water and good pressure. They get creative with the room shape - it was awkward with my king size bed making the other side of the room nearly inaccessible by foot. Breakfast/Food: was surprisingly really good. I really enjoyed the selection. Service: Like most of Portugal - they were very nice. But this was next level. Very attentive and helpful. 5 star service all around Minor Complaints: Things seem a bit tight in some areas. Internal hotel noise might be an issue for light sleepers. I could hear other guests and things like water and such in pipes. Some parts of the room use motion lights. Like the wardrobe area - very annoying that it can't be manually operated. Someone gets up in the middle of the night and this bright light turns on automatically. Concept seems nice - but not actually practical. The steam from the shower actually set off my smoke detector. When the front desk called - it seemed like this was not their first time hearing that.

The reviews don't lie, this is a perfect hotel to stay in Porto! Can't say it's the best since I haven't stayed elsewhere in Porto. But: The breakfast is ample and fresh. Hotel staff are exceedingly helpful, I actually can't recall front desk being as helpful anywhere else! The manager, Rogério, went out of his way to provide dinner recommendations and I used one and had a memorable meal with a view of the river. There's one and only one obstacle between you and a perfect stay: the hotel effectively does not offer parking. The garage with which the hotel allegedly has an agreement for a fixed daily rate refused to accept the agreement during my stay. This garage is two blocks away, maybe 4 minutes on foot but... an 18-minute drive! Central Porto is all dug up with the construction of a new subway line, so traffic goes around the center in a single loop that moves very slowly because it has buses in it and there's intervening pedestrian traffic. The drive from the garage to the hotel is only one or two minutes because of the direction of this traffic loop. On three of four mornings of my stay, the garage's hourly rate was equal to or slightly better than the alleged agreed-upon rate. On the last morning it was 5€ higher. But there was absolutely nobody in the garage to validate the parking ticket, and on a prior morning a garage worker plainly refused to validate. These issues are par for Portugal, at least the garage was open when I needed access, I have had it worse. In all if the hotel figures out the parking situation (and parking in central Porto is more difficult than... in just about any European city I've been to, certainly worse than in Lisbon), then greatness awaits! Hope to be back soon.

Brimming with the charm of Portugal's grand cathedrals, the Se Catedral Hotel Porto captures the city's essence. You just cannot beat the location and view from certain rooms at the Sé Catedral. Due to my Hilton status, I was allowed to check-in early and afforded an upgraded balcony room with a fabulous view to the Cathedral and city skyline. My room was commodious, well maintained, and furnished with eclectic decor elements that I found intriguing and fun. My only niggle was that the in-room safe was too small to accommodate my 13" MacBook Air. Kind of a surprising oversight in such a recent rebuild. F&B was very good, at both dinner and breakfast. Not the best on this particular trip to Porto, but that wasn't a negative as I was lucky to have had some outstanding meals. Staff were friendly and courteous throughout my stay. A shout-out to Roger for his positive demeanor and helpfulness. A truly great place to stay for first-time tourists who wish to be in a central location.

Se Catedral Hotel is the perfect place to stay whether you are in city for leisure or work. The location is ideal right next to Se Catedral in the middle of the city centre. A subway station is right in front of the hotel as well. Take a walk along Ponte Luis I to enjoy in the scenic views of Porto – it starts literally 100m from the hotel. From the rooms you can enjoy great views as well – I definitely recommend going for a room with city view, it only costs a few Euros more and is totally worth it. The rooms themselves have a very high standard and are very clean. Hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and will assist you with anything you might need during your stay.

This very modern boutique hotel in the center of the city was such a treat for my 3-night stay in Porto. Directly across the street from Se Cathedral and two blocks from the Dom Luis Bridge, you could walk everywhere easily. I had a great room #14 that was in the back of the hotel, very quiet with it's own outdoor patio. Food was excellent, and all the staff were accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend this hotel.

Highly recommend a stay at the Se Catedral Hotel Porto. The location can't be beat. The hotel is new and everything feels so fresh and clean. The rooms are a nice size and very comfortable. Love the rainfall shower in the bathroom. Where this hotel really shines is the staff. All of the staff should be commended for going above and beyond to assist guests. Special shout out to Arthur and David at the front desk. They were available to help with any and all requests. They recommended places for lunch and dinner, made reservations when needed and helped book transfers to the airport at the end of our stay. I loved the boutique feel of this hotel, which is walking distance to many of Porto's best sites. Anyone looking for a beautiful hotel in Porto with great staff and an excellent location should definitely book here. Thank you again to the entire staff for their help. We hope to be back soon! You helped make our stay truly memorable.

We found ourselves stuck in Porto and this hotel saved us. They went above and beyond for us and we couldn't be more grateful, in terms of the actual hotel, I would definitely stay again and recommend it to anybody. It was clean and spacious with a real funky vibe to it, it was in a great location close to many sights and restaurants plus the restaurant they have downstairs has delicious food. The customer service experience was easily one of the best I've ever had and they were extremely accommodating.

This hotel is only open 5 months and is very clean, modern and fun. It has a great location in the city. The staff were very enthusiastic and super friendly with a hello every time you passed. Loved the small touches like the fresh infused water right as you come in the main door, great to have when stepping in from the sun and heat. The breakfast was very good, only small criticism was the coffee wasn't the best. Other than that, very hard to fault the hotel at all.

This hotel is well located near the train, metro and bridge. It has a super funky decor and very comfortable. (The beds and linens are top notch) The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Such a friendly and professional team that make you feel so welcomed. The food in the restaurant is great. Make sure you order the eggs Benedict for breakfast. The coffee is strong and delicious. In the evening there is a fun scene with the open window, DJ playing great music and yummy cocktails on order I would def stay here again!!! Special mention to David and Joao and the front desk team. They could not be more helpful and caring

Tranquility in the absolute center. Great breakfast with super nice service. Rooms well appointed. Only negative for us was no fitness center. Thanks to the kind and helpful team. We had two rooms on floor 2.

Location was brilliant, we had king size room with city view. Room was really good. Just a quick point to note, there was no mirror in the room, which made it difficult for my wife, making herself look beautiful. The staff where all lovely, and the breakfast was really good, although sometimes there was a bit of a wait for anything ordered, that was not on the buffet. The bar area, we comfortable and also very good in the evening, if you could not be bothered venturing out. Would definitely recommend.

The best experience in any hotels we ever stayed in. Unbelievable customer service. Roger & Joao in concierge have the best knowledge and offers great recommendations with tours and restaurants. Amazing communication and attitude. It’s apparent that they love what they do. David in the front desk brought a tape to fix a broken auto light at 1 am in less than 1 min so we can have an undisturbed sleep. Mathilda who showed the 2 rooms before making decisions what room we like the best. All that customer service makes this hotel more than a five star rating. Location can’t be beat! Rooms are beautiful and modern and spotless. Price is so affordable almost unreal. Breakfast is included too in the room we picked and is beautifully presented and prepared with delicious and different varieties each day. We are so glad for choosing this hotel. What an experience to remember and a place to recommend to all relatives and friends. Great job Se Cathedral Tapestry!!!

Hotel’s concept is so cool. I have been in many hiltons, this was the most cozy one. It is very well located across the Se Catedral and historical train station and of course to center. The staff were so friendly, room was very clean. For us it was perfect. I highly recommend.

Amazing hotel, I wish we stayed longer. Staff were highly professional and spoke English well. We dined in at the hotel since it was raining one evening and the food was great. They upgraded us to a king bed which was huge and comfy. Atmosphere of this place is top notch and the staff were incredibly helpful and reassuring in booking us a very early cab to the airport.

Thank you so much for warmly welcoming us to your hotel. You made us feel at home. We very much appreciate your sincerity and attention to detail. In the morning we were surprised by a cake at breakfast for the attention of Peronne's birthday. We also got to know the best restaurants in the neighbourhood at your advice. We recommend a stay at your hotel to anyone who desires a sincere experience of Porto and a lovely hotel to come home to. Thank you ❤️

Centrally located. Room was spacious. Bedding wonderful. Small shower but it was great. Restaurant was nice and breakfast hit the spot. Nothing to complain about at all. Enjoyed it very much and highly recommended.

The hotel is in the perfect location. Although an eccentric theme runs throughout the hotel, it is styled to make you feel comfortable and is awesome place to stay while traveling. Even the staircases were uniquely lit and were memorable. The breakfast spread was top notch and the bar and restaurant were excellent. I stayed here because of my Hilton status, but I would recommend anyone to stay here when visiting.

Highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helped us navigate our vacation (not stand-off-ish which I experienced in Lisbon more than once) The rooms are up-to-date with comfy beds and good pillows.

We stayed for 2 nights. Our room was ready early so we got to check in a few hours before normal check in time. Our junior suite was spacious and very clean. The location of the hotel was great. It was very centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast each morning was delicious…lots of variety so everyone could find something they liked. Roger at the front desk went above and beyond to help us! We can’t wait to visit Porto and stay here again!

Our time in Porto was truly delightful. The city is absolutely fascinating, and this hotel made our trip exceptionally comfortable. The location is just perfect. Within minutes, we can reach many great restaurants and famous landmarks. The staffs are extremely helpful and kind. We plan to recommend this hotel to all our family and friends

This hotel was perfect in every way! The friendly guys at the registration desk who greeted us personally coming and going, helped with our luggage, and with directions when we needed. The decor gave this hotel such a great vibe! The breakfast buffet was always fresh and had a great selection. The staff in the restaurant and bar were happy and helpful. The location was perfect for walking around town, or catching a train at the train station just down the street. The beds were super comfy, and the showers always had hot water and good pressure. We will definitely stay here again!

What a nice surprise! This hotel is not only the perfect location but the service & the room is beyond our expectations. Very friendly & helpful staff, funky but comfortable room & bed with nice view, across from one of the best cathedrals and walking distance to all great restaurants and the bridge to the best sunset view! We truly enjoyed & glad we stayed here.

The hotel has a perfect location for visiting Porto. Located next to Se Catedral, just a short walk to Säo Bento train station and across the street from the popular Flower Street (Rua de Flores). I found the staff at reception to be most welcoming and accommodating. They were pleased to do anything possible to make our stay good. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice. When we needed a 5:30 AM taxi to the airport it was arranged and they presented us with a bag with two breakfasts. As a Hilton Honors member I was welcomed and all the benefits explained. In short, I highly recommend this hotel.

The best hotel experience that I've had - no question. Check In: We arrived early and our room wasn't ready immediately. Roger gave us an extremely thorough and helpful overview of the area. He made restaurant, sightseeing, and winery recommendations that were top notch. He also made same day dinner reservations for us. During check in, we were also able to add breakfast on to our reservation and I am so glad that we did. This was a really great value and I highly recommend it. Room: Beautiful, well appointed, clean. Service: we felt that the team at Se Catedral went above and beyond at all times to provide memorable experiences for us. We loved happy hour, cocktails and the DJ in the bar. This team was truly exceptional on all fronts.

Amazing experience in all fronts. Outstanding service. The hotel is beautiful. Everyone one made us feel welcome. It made our experience in Porto so much better. This will be my home base next time we are in Porto.. and we will be back!

My husband and I stayed at the Se Catedral in May of 2023. We were very impressed with the hotel facilities, our room, the restaurant and the bar. Each was comfortable, interesting, charming and fun. The room was modern and comfortable, great shower, and a nice big desk. Air conditioning does not go below 21 celsius (70 fahrenheit) which was comfortable but I do wonder about August. The restaurant had excellent food for all three meals, at a good price, and good variety. The location of the hotel could not be better, walking distance to everything on the Porto side! A true highlight of our stay at Se Catedral Hilton Porto was the staff. The customer service was excellent, including the reception staff, the restaurant staff, and the cleaners. They provide a very welcoming and complete experience.

Everything about this hotel is fabulous! Excellent location!!! I can't say enough about the location...the metro is a minute away on foot, and the train is maybe 4 mins away. In addition, tons of excellent restaurants are also just minutes away on foot. Super helpful and friendly staff, fresh/clean/comfy rooms and bathrooms! The city was very busy (full of tourists) so if you can, it's best to plan ahead and make dinner reservations. We arrived around 8:30pm on a Sunday and had to wait to be seated and many nearby restaurants were booked solid. Back to the hotel...we were always greeted by the staff and they were very helpful in recommending restaurants and providing info on things not to miss. The rooms are on the small side but super clean! Beds were VERY comfy, wonderful linens and large bath towels. Loved this hotel...highly, highly recommend!

The hotel was stylish and fun. It had a great location near restaurants and cafes, and especially for the Festival of San Joao. The staff from very friendly and helpful from beginning to end. The room itself was impeccable, clean and had a great sense of style. (I'm a big fan of the shower in the bathroom.) I had the breakfast while I was there which had a number of tasty options (and good coffee). I have nothing but good things to say about the hotel and its staff. I look forward to returning.

  • 4/5 Leslye G. 10 months ago on Google
Before I mention all the great things about this hotel, I would like to say a massive obrigada to the amazing staff at Sé Catedral. Without them, in my opinion, this hotel would not get half the stars it is getting. They were warm, welcoming and attentive; especially the staff at breakfast and the bar staff. Nothing was too big of an ask for them, making our whole experience invaluable. Aside from the great people working there, we really loved the cleanliness of our room and of the hotel overall, the quaint decor and the very tasty variety of food and beverages at breakfast (for me, the coffee and the detox drinks were simply the best). The prime location was also very much appreciated. The only drawback for me was how paper-thin the walls are, as we could hear people coming and going into their rooms and opening drawers at some unsociable hours of the night. All in all, we left happy and will definitely stop by on our next visit of Porto. Ciao Ciao!

Great hotel! Super location close to attractions. Great breakfast and large area that doubles as lounge other times of the day. Rooms are modern and clean. We were there during major holiday and the service was never disrupted. Would love to return.

Great location, better service. Front desk staff, breakfast staff, every employee we met was very professional, friendly and helpful. It all was very genuine too, nothing phony. As many of the other reviews mention, Rogerio and Matilda go above and beyond. It was like having a personal conceirge! It was def one of our best 3 days. I'm not just saying this - it truly is a great place to stay. I'm old and have traveled the world - honestly haven't seen service like this anywhere at any level. They are very proud of Porto and want you to see it. The rooms are not big, it is a bit noisy, but it's centered in the heart of the old town, easy access to loads of restaurants, etc.

  • 5/5 Jasmine O. 1 year ago on Google
I recommend this hotel for these three reasons: 1. Awesome location - walking distance to all the major attraction sites. 2. Nice staff - everyone was so nice and tried to accommodate early check-in/late check-out. 3. Great ambience - lobby was very clean and well decorated. Very cozy and picture worthy.

This hotel offers everything you can wish for when spending a few days in Porto. The location is unbeatable, right across the Cathedral and within 5-10 min walk from any major attractions, bars and restaurants. Beautifully decorated rooms offer an opportunity for relaxation after a full day of city explorations. A mini coffee maker, an irreplaceable companion of any great explorer, was doing a fantastic job in the morning. A steamer for clothes, a nice detail for those of us who want to look polished even in t-shirt and jeans, was a nice addition to many amenities. Interesting art pieces in the hallway are truly impressive. Bar/restaurant offered plenty of refreshments. The personnel was super nice and spoke perfect English and French and probably half a dozen of other languages. This is officially my favorite hotel in Porto.

  • 5/5 Paul W. 1 year ago on Google
One of the best hotel experiences I have had anywhere, really. The interior design of the entire place was quirky and clever. The room was immaculately clean, and new! The plumbing fixtures were excellent, intuitive, and functioned perfectly, nice water pressure in the shower for the rain head and the wand. The king bed was gigantic and the linens crisp, fresh, and renewed daily. Breakfast buffet was elaborate and copious. Location is perfect with tram access and directly across from the Cathedral and train station/town center. Staff was happy and helpful, seemed to like their jobs! The only things I didn't like: the room lighting was peculiar, and I didn't care much for the coffee - but when the other breakfast options were so good, it didn't matter! I will stay here for sure if I visit Porto again. Highly recommended, especially at this price point. I had just come from 4 nights at a five star hotel in Paris, and liked this place just as much!

The service, quality and overall experience at the Se Catedral Hotel was perhaps the best hotel travel experience we have ever had. Not only is the hotel centrally located within the city of Porto, but it is also a lovely, charming, quirky and comfortable hotel. The staff at the Se Catedral are courteous, professional and wonderful. Not only did they warmly welcome us to their city but they looked after us as if we were part of their own family. Their knowledge and familiarity of Porto was unprecedented and their referrals, recommendations (restaurants, tours, sights) etc. was invaluable.
