Had to be induced. Wouldn’t get me in until 41 weeks because it wasn’t “medically necessary” although I was anemic and had already been to urgent care because of dizziness and over all feeling terrible. Nice amenities in the building, not a good experience. Lots of rude nurses, including a nurse who continually was telling me to “just move my legs and roll over” when my lower half of my body was numb from the epidural I had received, and she wouldn’t even help me. And another nurse who kept discussing politics and expressing her political views with me, which was really unprofessional, assuming I would agree with her opinions. They gave me a non fda approved medicine, misoprostal, also used to abort babies, to induce my labor, which in response caused uterine hyperstimulation and put my baby in distress, bringing down his heart beat to a dangerously low place. Nurses ran in and had to give me a shot to bring it back up. Could’ve ended up as a C-Section because of this. Thankfully he is okay. One nurse kept calling me a worry wart and told the other nurse that she should watch out because I “moan and groan a lot” when I’m “not in serious pain.” So, yeah, disrespectful, obnoxious staff and doctors who will put your baby at risk.

We had a great experience at Valley. Our daughter came 1 month early and our whole experience from triage to epidural to inpatient care, we were well taken cared of during our 3 day stay. Our main nurses were Marsha (in Triage) and Merideth and they were exceptional. Being first time parents to a premie baby is a scary thing but our nurses assured us we will be great parents; taught us (feeding, bathing, changing diapers, etc) everything we needed to know to take care of our little one. Take the birthing tour (6 weeks before your scheduled due date) it helped us a lot with knowing where to go when we were in labor.

We delivered here in 2020 and it was so traumatic that it’s taken me this long to be able to process the whole experience and leave a review. We had the worst care, I would show up to appointments at 35+ weeks pregnant to find there’d been scheduling errors and have no one to see me. My concerns were ignored and written off as “anxiety” only for us to almost lose our baby. The postpartum nurses were horrendous. To the point where several actually made rude comments ranging from how I would never look the same after giving birth to reprimanding me for fainting after being forced to walk myself to the restroom shortly after delivery. We have since had another baby at St Elizabeth and that was a wonderful, healing experience. Run from Valley….

Clean facility but I have permanent hip damage from giving birth here. One of the nurses had the audacity to tell me not ask but tell me “keep it down” and I am huffing and puffing out a baby. I was sent home when I came in for contractions and they had to wheel me to my car because my legs gave out and I fell but still got sent home and within the time it took to drive from Renton to federal way my contractions worsened in the car and I was ready to push once I got home as the baby was coming hospital or not. Went back and was told to keep it down and then was rushed out before my uterus was pushed on to express the placenta and fluids because “we need to induce someone else” Awful experience, not one anybody would ever want during a sentimental moment and life changing experience

We just had our second child delivered here and I can say that because of the absolutely amazing nurses, we were again able to make it to the end without intervention. The people who work at this birth center are hardcore in the best of ways. Both times they worked tirelessly to give my wife everything she needed to give birth how we wanted. I don’t know how to describe how thankful I am that we gave birth here. As giving birth has begun to trend away from hospitals (we are there) I can tell you unequivocally that if you were looking to have a home birth vibe but want to be next to the resources that are so priceless if anything does go wrong this is the place to be. All the staff will be in our memories as part of the joy of bringing our little girls into the world.

I guess everyone’s experience is different especially because I mostly see bad reviews on here. I gave birth recently here and had a good experience. Super friendly staff & helpful nurses, they helped me throughout my labor. Once they moved me out of the delivery room and into a clean suite like room, my husband got to sleep comfortably. There is a meal voucher for the spouses but it’s just 1 so they’ll only get 1 meal, just be ready if you have to stay more than 1 night at the hospital.

My son was born here this week and my doctor, the staff, the room service team, the entire building was clean/sanitary and all of my nurses except 1 were excellent in customer service and understanding patience through out my entire process allowing me space and time to work through my pain. I know everything doesn’t always work out perfectly so I didn’t want to ding the rating too much. Overall I had a safe and speedy natural delivery here. Nurse “Holly” just needs a chill pill and to learn to not be so pushy and to stop asking questions or giving suggestions during contractions or any pain episodes. Have a little more patience. If that gets re trained she would be awesome and my personal rating for her would move from a 3.5/5 to 5/5. Overall GREAT hospital 😊

Second baby I've had here. I had a very pleasant experience both times. I had to be induced and it went very smooth. I had a wonderful nurse named Liz for the first part and Danica for the other half of labor and the delivery. She was amazing, I meant to write her a Wow card. There was only a midwife on call which I was nervous about because I had no knowledge about midwives basically. She was great and I'm very happy I ended up with her. She listened to me and made me feel better when I was getting scared. Her name was Shannon Sluys! If I was having another baby I would definitely use her. The only thing that sucked was the room was small and bed was extremely uncomfortable to have to labor in for hours. They moved us to a better one the next day, which was the type of room I was in the whole time for my first in 2018. Not a huge deal though. The recovery nurses were all amazing also. everyone made me feel comfortable and I was very well taken care of.

So thankful for labor and delivery nurses and doctor M. Mercado Medina my surgery was a success at 23weeks. Other hospital made no intention of helping with the amount of pain I was in

The day I was going to be induced which was a week after my due date my daughter decided to come to on her own. I had the staff help me while in L&D nurse Callie and postpartum nurses as well I loved Maricelle she is one of the greatest and most kind nurses I had after giving birth. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I had to be re admitted a week later for postpartum pre eclampsia but still the nurses I had was awesome as well I wanted to give a big shout out to (Maricelle, Cherry, Sharain, Jennifer and Danielle) you guys were very awesome. Thank you to the awesome doctors that took care of us as well Dr.Zomer, Dr.Buben and Dr.Lawrence thank you for all your help on making sure I got well and home. They all deserve the WOW award.

I had both my son and my daughter delivered here at Valley. Both were the most beautiful experiences I could ask for. If you ever get the opportunity to have Dr. Buben to deliver your baby you will be so happy you did. She delivered our son and she is the best doctor we ever had. I wasn’t able to get her to have my daughter delivered but I still had such amazing and uplifting women delivering my daughter. (I wish I could remember their names) one was in training and was assisting the doctor and both were fantastic, every nurse and even the front desk at the Emergency Room helped me to the birthing center made me laugh even through contractions. I really wish I could remember all of their names but THANK YOU. Even after my daughter was delivered Dr. Buben came in to check on us and to wish us congratulations. She is absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone.

I highly recommend Valleys Birth center. I have never been treated better at any other hospital. I've been here 3 times and always have experienced kindness, attentiveness and no judgement. I love the Valley nurses especially.

Our baby decided to come earlier than expected and we ended up giving birth at Valley Medical Center Birthing Center. I wanted to express our greatest gratitude for the care that we received from beginning to end. All the staff were so wonderful and honored our wishes for the birth we had wanted even. It did not feel that they were pushing any sorts of agenda on us and gave us a lot of information about risks benefits. There are so many questions and unknowns about choosing a birthing center and what it will actually look like on the actual day, but we wanted to write this review so others could know how wonderful of an experience we had, even though the team barely knew us since we came in on an emergency. Huge shoutouts to the nursing staff there (Chantelle, Erin, Kate, Tiffany, JuJu, Celina, Katie, Justina), Michelle the midwife, Dr. Fink, the lactation consultants (Anne and Sheryl), and even the peds provider Annie!

I had my son here in 2008 and came from Auburn to Valley Medical Center because I had loved the looks of it when my sister in law had her baby. They had a wonderful informative tour of the floor that you can schedule and I went to their 1st time parent birthing classes. It was a great experience. I ended up having an emergency c section, they dressed my husband up quickly and brought him back with me so he was never not by my side. They kept us calm and took wonderful care of my now 10 year old son who was born healthy. The food is AMAZING!! The nurses were wonderful and so helpful. In 2011, living in Puyallup at the time, we drove all the way to Renton passing by 2 hospitals for Valley because of our first wonderful experience and this one was even better. They were so attentive and really make you feel like you are the center of their world. While you are in active labor you are the nurses ONLY patient, so you get to know her well and she regularly checked on me without me calling her in. The rooms are HUGE, not like those tiny good sam hospital jail cells that I've been in to visit relatives who have given birth. I highly recommend this hospital to anybody and everybody. If there were 10 stars, they would get it!!

The nurses at valley are phenomenal!!!! Giving birth for the first time. Is scary but the nurses kept me calm and informed and helped my husband! They were kind and caring ! I can’t say enough about them! My main nurses with Juju and Caitlin, and they were excellent. Even tho I wasn’t able to have my doctor in delivery ( dr Kelly Martin, she’s also wonderful) dr Lewis delivered my baby boy and she was great as well! My first birth experience was great thanks to you all!!!!

I had my baby year ago here 2 months early. I was having complications and went in several times to checked out but each time they had me go home. If they would if did some test maybe they could of prevented my baby from coming early.
