Tried the lobster roll and chili fries. Both were on point. Quality lobster meat used in the lobster roll; not cheap but you do get what you pay for. Many things in the menu look delicious. Everything from the burgers, sandwiches, and huge ice cream selection will definitely have me coming back to try.

I've yet to try their food, but their ice cream selection is great. They always have different options that you don't see many places. Also the biggest banana split I've ever seen! @amp_eats (instagram and Facebook)

Amazing fried food , the best ice cream . The staff were so kind and intelligent,which really goes along way. We loved Frates best part is we were about to take a picture of a Chevy on display and a man offered to take the picture. He was so nice to us , it met a lot come to find out he was the owner ! Love it! Family friendly, laid back, quick service and the food is always consistent. They have a good system worked out for people placing orders, take out and picking up for dine in. They have several ice cream choices including specialty, brownie sundae, fried dough with ice cream and much more! I recommend trying everything! Dining tables outside and some in a covered area

The rock and roll burger was delicious. I'd definitely try that again. They seem to have a huge selection of food. Maybe a bit pricey but comparable to local competitors

Use to love this place.. but this year I have been disappointed the last two visits.. and after tonight I will not back .. ordered a scallop roll and my bf ordered a lobster roll. He brought out the food with not tartar sauce on the plate, when I went to get some I was informed I would have to pay extra for it .. I have never ordered fried seafood and not had it served with tartar sauce .. the staff is young untrained girls with bad attitudes .. stay away from this road side dump.. 75 dollars in food and your asking for extra.. forget this place .. spend your money elsewhere for better seafood and better service

The food was not bad, but it was a bit overpriced. I’ve had better lobster rolls elsewhere. Burgers were undercooked & not well-seasoned 🙁 They have A TON of stuff on their menu, so that was nice to see. Lots of fun photo props too, if you’re into that.

Great spring through fall location. Be aware this WILL fill up rapidly if the weather is at all nice. Good selection of ice cream flavors -- possibly too many.

I went to this place for the first time this year and I love the look that they have and how they have enough seating. I had a cheeseburger which was great and I tried my husband's fries and my niece's chicken tenders which were delicious also!!! My husband, sister and I wanted dessert so we ordered three fried dough sundaes once we were done with our meals. When my sister placed the order the girl that was going to prepare them had an attitude and was complaining that we ordered three. I was really upset but patiently waited over 20 minutes for them which was not a problem at all. Once we received them and opened them; they all looked like the picture posted which was upsetting because I think presentation goes a long way. I believe the girl should have waited until the dough cooled down a little bit since she was already not happy then it showed in her presentation. The dough was delicious but I can't really comment about the ice cream yet. No matter what I will try them again when they open back up next year.

My wife and l went 2 times every week. Excellent food and frappes. Waitress were very nice and knowledgeable. The owner is very personal and keeps.a very clean place. We will miss Frates during the winter.

It's a '50s style burger joint. Complete with an Elvis statue by the ordering window. Lol. It's a great place though. They're specialty burgers on the absolute best. Definitely got to try their rock and roll burger It's bomb ! They don't skip on portions either. Here, you definitely get what you pay for. They also boast the cheapest lobster roll around. It's only $20 but then again you're only getting like 3 oz of lobster meat. Obviously like anything else the more meat you get the more money It costs. Still $20 for lobster roll is nothing to complain about. One of Taunton's hidden gems. Every time I'm in the area I make a point to stop here. Right on rt 138. Well worth it !

Great food at fantastic prices. Staff is very courteous and friendly. Would definitely recommend! Very low key. Seating is picnic benches.
