By far, the Pyramid Mountain trails are the most exhilarating to navigate through, and provide the most shade during the sunniest of the days and have one of the most diverse trail topologies in the neighborhood. Be sure to use the AllTrails app or have the trail map snapshots handy, for, it is easy to go on a longer than planned route. The tripod rock isn’t the final destination, but is surely one of the popular stopovers along the trail. Enjoy it alone, with friends or the entire family alike.

Beautiful place to go hiking. We did the blue trail and followed all the trees with blue Square. Easy to navigate. Will definitely be back to hike here. Took us about 2 hours to start and finish the blue trail, but we also stopped a few times to chat and catch our breath.

We did the pyramid hike. Which was the blue trail which connects to the blue dot and ornage trial. In total it is 3.5 miles. If you're going in the winter highly recommend boot grippers and a walking stick. What a beautiful trial though. I look forward to seeing it in the spring! Parking is a bit tight. I don't know if they allow street parking.

A top hiking spot in NJ (close to the city)!! Extremely well-kept and clearly marked trails, with multiple loops. The nature is beautiful and holds serene silence/far removed from noise pollution (cars, planes, etc). Saw a sign about keeping dogs on leashes, so assume dogs are allowed. By the time I got there it was almost dusk so I couldn’t hike as much as I’d have liked, and I can’t wait to come back when I have more time. Regardless, I’d give it 10 stars if I could—very impressive!

Who says there's no pyramid in NJ?? A very nice place to hike. Parking was plenty but could be crowded on a busy day. We went on a Monday and there were more cars than expected for a late monday morning. When we went mid October, the leaves were already turning yellow. It would definitely be even more beautiful if the leaves turned orange and red as well. We hiked the tripod rock trail to visit the "pyramid" and visited a few overlooks along the way. The overlooks were ok not too impressive to be honest. The trail difficulty is easy to moderate in my opinion. Majority of the trail was relatively flat and easy to walk. Only a very few areas of the trail had inclines and were rocky. The trail markers could be marked better. If you enjoy hiking and love the great outdoors, don't miss this place.

Great place to hike and the different trail levels let you chose what vibe your goin for whether you want intense or a chill vibe. I highly highly recommend going during the fall while the leaves are changing!! The views end up hitting in a much better way and allow you to truly take in the nature. Great views and a great hike for sure

Bring bug spray if it rained recently. Lots of cool fungi after rain showers! Watch for little toads near paths, this is their house please respect their personal space. Wine berry bushes along both trails makes for a sweet snack(late June-August.) Blue to orange towards the reservoir is a short, easy, pretty, walk with nice spots to sit by the water, shade and breeze help keep cool on hot days. Tripod rock is a harder, up hill hike but worth it to see the Weird NJ attraction.

Been years since I was here but it is still such a wonderful gem of serene natural wonder right here in our suburban backyards. Streams, waterfalls, wildlife, vistas, and of course, Tripod Rock. So worth the trip!

Nice ~3.5mi loop with medium elevation change and medium difficulty. Take the blue trail at the end of the parking lot by the trail map posting and exit. Stay left on blue at the first fork and then take blue with black dot. Within 20mins you'll reach the summit with nice valley views. Continue to tripod rock for photo ops. Then take the orange trail back along the reservoir and reconnect to lower blue which brings you back to the parking lot where you began. Nice views and lookouts.

Such a fun hiking trail. Everything is really well marked. People also bring their dogs but it’s not a super busy place. The views are excellent and there are at Paul lookout points. There are easy trails and what I felt were more difficult as well. Just be immersed in nature.

Not crowded on weekday evenings. Took blue and orange trails. Some rocky patches. Huge rocks on the way. The 4.5 mile trail is nice and isolated and can be called moderate. Porta potty near parking lot.

One of the best hikes. Go there as early as you can. Parking lot gets full mid morning. About 2-3 hours of decent hike.

Excellent hiking area. Not crowded at all, well marked and different trails to explore. The tripod rock is very nice to see and the hike by the reservoir is relatively easy and it has great views. Highly recommended for 2-3 hours of moderate hiking.

Parking is tight, and saw some illiterate's parking on the road, but it was a Sunday afternoon in Autumn. There are a couple different trails, I walked to the Tripod Rock. Map said it would take 2.5 hrs, It took me 1.25 hrs, to do the loop, and the trail was easily visible. Lots of rocks, on trail. Leave no trace....

Beautiful place to hike, we started on the blue trail then ended up in orange. We were able to take yellow back to blue until we were back to the car 4 hours later. I did not see any restrooms but then again, i was not looking for one. The only negative part was there were ticks present on my dog after the hike.

One of the top 10 NJ hikes. Moderate to experience hike in skill level. Pyramid rock is balanced on 3 smaller rocks and was left behind during our last ice age. A walk down by the reservoir and it was a perfect hike.

Moderate level hike. Beautiful scenery. A few bugs and insects. Takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete the circuit. It’s not crowded but you will definitely encounter a lot of people on the way.

First time here. Not that easy hike with all leaf on the ground. Quite sleepily of the walk but still enjoying the hikes 👋💪🏼👍

Really nice hike. A bit challenging up the hill, so be prepared. Make sure to bring water for you and your pets. The parking is a bit small, but you can park on the side of the road in the designated areas

Nice hiking spot, close to Morristown! We brought two dogs here and did a 3.4mile loop. Although the high of the day was close to 80 degrees in town, we went in the morning, and with all the tree shade, it felt more like 72 when we walked. FYI for dog owners - it can get rocky and steep in some areas; if you have a dog that is reactive or pulls, be prepared for some narrow, steep paths, though not many.
