I was at the BMV and wanted a treat! I walked over and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing Heidelberg is! So many goodies and German things! Their pastries were great, I had a croissant. I loved the coffee, too. The staff and even the other customers were so nice! I can’t wait to go back!

I cannot begin to express how much I love this place! Authentic German food and pastries brought to you by Juergen (Jay Jay). I always stop in here to show friends, get some Currywurst, and buy a collectible gnome for my family. I’ve been in here countless times, and the staff are just so sweet and welcoming. Jay jay even spoke some German with me and my friend, as well as gifted us one of his radio CDs from his German radio station in Indy. Will always stop here when I’m nearby!

Very cool German market, full of many authentic items! I had a great, warm pretzel, with a small cup of hot mustard, the kind of hot mustard that will dissolve the lining of your nostrils if you're not careful! We also purchased a piece of German chocolate cake, and a carrot cake, both were fabulous! We had already had lunch, so we didn't try anything from the restaurant, but we'll certainly return to have something from the restaurant!

We left Chicago at 4 am and stopped by at the Heidelberg Haus on the way back to GA at 8:32am. We were greeted by the friendly waitress. The house coffee was excellent and I had 3 cups of coffee with my breakfast. We also purchased some pastries to take home. Of course, we picked up 2 little gnomes for our garden. It was a perfect breakfast experience with excellent service! I saved some potato salad which is well seasoned and my girl was very happy to heat it up to enjoy the German potato salad! Definitely we will stop by next time when we pass Indy. Excellent service and friendly staff. Food was delicious and yummy!

Great German food, pastries, and many other German items. Kitschy and quaint ambiance, but cool, too! The kind of place where you can sit, eat, and converse over a cup of strong coffee. Service is fast and friendly, prices are really decent, too!

Came here to pick up a Black Forest cake for a birthday. It is one of their best sellers. This restaurant/store/bakery is an experience. Stop in for a bite, to do some shopping or pick up some sweet treats. There’s something for everyone!

Great place for an authentic German meal. Grab a quick lunch or even dinner. Super reasonable prices and food is excellent. Don't forget to take some pastries home that are made fresh daily starting 3am!!! We did!!!

It was my son’s 14th birthday and he wanted German food. I got the currykraut with potato salad. It was delicious. In fact, next time I’m going to order an extra potato salad. And the price is so reasonable. There were 8 of us and we were able to snag a private room. So if you are a big group like us, call to reserve that room!! We celebrated with various yummy deserts.

I got married a while ago but never got around to giving a review. This cake was amazing!! I had over 200 people at my wedding and they loved this cake with many going back for seconds. It was super delicious. Now every year we take our kids at Christmas and they thoroughly enjoy going to the bakery part and picking out cookies and cake for our holiday celebrations. This is such a gem and we always tell everyone to stop in and try a few things.

What a gem of a place. I kept meeting people telling me they had been coming here for years, this comment was from an African American guy. I can tell several men enjoy seeing the pretty waitresses in their German outfits. This place must go wild during Octoberfest. The waitress suggest #1, and it was delicious. If I had any room, I would have had a freshly made pastry. This place made my cross country trip so memorable. I really felt welcome in Indianapolis. Thanks guys.

You won't want to miss this! Gorgeous place, with a bright German authentic atmosphere, in every tiny detail, with a cofee smell and taste of crispy apple Bavarian strudel, homemade... Like a life museum of German inspiration, with a German mood, colors, smiles of waitresses... Highly recommend.

Such a cute little place. I had a great time having coffee with some girlfriends and trying one of every cookie. I also noticed this place is wonderful for children. Every little person I saw had the biggest smile on.

Can’t say enough good things about this spot , took my kiddo so they could use their German language skills and I was so impressed, it was awesome to see the smile on my kiddos face! We will absolutely be back!

This spot is such a great slice of German culture. The curry wurst was spectacular, as well as the potato salad. Our service was great! It's fun to peruse the figures, food + bakery selections while waiting for your food. Highly recommend visiting this spot.

Absolutely a treasure! Best German restaurant I've visited in Ohio or Indiana. Delicious food & treats. Go early for best fresh baked selections. Nice smaller grocery section for German specialties refrigerated & pantry. Lots of cute novelty & nik naks! So much fun! 🖤❤️💛🇩🇪

Went here to get my VHS tape made into a dvd. Super cheap and JJ was so friendly! I dropped the tapes off at noon and it was ready the exact same day! The atmosphere there is so incredible. I definitely plan on going back for lunch sometime!

One of the "must visit" places in Indianapolis, the Heidelberg Haus has been serving German food since the 1960's. The restaurant is simultaneously a gift shop and museum of old baking equipment. The cakes and breads have a well deserved good reputation but the sausages are quite good as well. The food, though, is almost overwhelmed by the one of a kind atmosphere. The prices are also pretty reasonable, especially if you stop in for coffee and cakes. If I had to complain about anything, the service can be on the slow side but with the atmosphere and German music, it is well worth overlooking that minor issue. The Heidelberg Haus also has a store selling German and central European meats, breads, soup stocks, pickles and so on. Pro Tip: Be sure to visit the restrooms and read some of the funny signs and leave a message on the restroom chalkboard.

Definitely worth stopping by. A very unique hidden gem with authentic German food. Reminded me of the city of Trier. The pastries were amazing! The staff were very nice and helpful Highly recommended!!!

What a great find! I organized a group of us to have dinner here, and they had a nice quiet private room. It was relaxing to sit and enjoy authentic German food together. The service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious. I recommend the curry wurst or the pork chop. We definitely look forward to going back and hope you will too!
