I stopped here because it is the oldest brewery in the world, allegedly. What I didn't realise is that food here is absolutely incredible and the staff is so nice. Combine that with very reasonable prices and delicious beer and you have one of the best spots in Germany.

A special experience to be able to make it here. Accessible by train but easier with a car and plenty of parking. On a beautiful campus with stellar views. Impressive for a state-owned brewery, the facility is huge with a classic layout and traditional biergarten. Inside seating looks great but luckily it was a beautiful, sunny, warm day. Food and beer are cafeteria style but it's all fresh and all delicious. Friendly folk and a truly great atmosphere/vibe.

It’s a must see restaurant. Typical local food with good beer and a stunning view from the beer garden. It’s the oldest running brewery in Germany.

Typical Bavarian pub, it’s situated far away from the Munich city. It offer many bavarian dishes and many typical beers of the place. The place is very nice, in fact you need to reserve a table because is always full. Friendly and helpful staff. Value for money in the average with the locals in the area. Recommended!

Wow, what a lovely Bavarian experience!Great food, service and price in a fantastic old brewery on a hill overlooking Freising and Munich (the brewery, apparently older than beer itself!). Highly recommended by moi.

Grabbed a beer after a nice hike up from the old town of Freising. Nice beer garden and one of the oldest breweries in Germany. Beer was good and garden setting ver nice. Seems like a very local crowd - which is always good.

During my inaugural experience in Munich, I've been thoroughly impressed not only by the city's vibrant atmosphere but also by its culinary delights. The food offerings here have been nothing short of exceptional, boasting a diverse range of delicious dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences. From traditional Bavarian specialties like schnitzel and pretzels to international cuisine, every dining experience has been a delightful journey for the taste buds. Moreover, Munich's reputation for its beer culture certainly precedes itself, and it's safe to say that the city lives up to its acclaim. The local brews are nothing short of amazing, with a rich history and distinct flavors that make enjoying a pint at one of the city's many beer gardens or breweries an absolute pleasure. The combination of great food and outstanding beer has truly made my first visit to Munich an unforgettable culinary adventure.

The food Is good If u like the typical Bavarian One ! Tried the pork and knodel with bavarian salad ... Tasty ! Prices are ok If you makeva balance between quantity and quality of food. I came from the Airport having a Ling connection ... 15 Min by train and 15 more minutes Walk from the railway station. Beers are Amazing and served like It should be ! Highly recommended a visit here !

Great, genuine food! Choose between the simpler beer garden or the traditional manned restaurant. We chose the latter and got very good, attentive service. I had the crispy pork with dumplings and it was among the best meals I've had in the country!

Wow, this brewery is simply amazing. The food the beer the scenery…terrific. We went during the week at lunch and it was not too busy. I hear that can change quickly. If in Munich, take the time to go.

A must for beer lovers! Great beers and an amazing range. Food was good too... Making a reservation is advisable though. Especially if you're planning a visit on a Friday/ weekend. As apparently it is always super busy.

"The origin of beer". This is the biergarten of the oldest brewery in Germany. The food is amazing (the porc knuckle will knock you out) and comes in large portions. The beer is very refreshing and tasty. The seated setting is nice, a green garden with nice views. You could also give the obazda a try. It is one of the best here. If you sit inside (at the restaurant) think about making a reservation first. You can then try the pfandel.

WOW, thank the Beer God's for this place that's been established since 1040. Every time I visit, I've enjoyed a great meal and beer. This hilltop location is fantastic, with both inside and wonderfully shaded outside options!

Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier has for a long time been a favorite, the refreshing banan flavor, look and smell is just on point. The lovely experience of enjoying this finely crafted beer, being from the worlds oldest brewery from 1040 is just elevated to another level when it is enjoyed at the brewery’s own brewery bar, mein Gott! Fantastic beer in a fantastic atmosphere, a proper Brauerei with traditional ambient music, dressed servers and good Hausmannskost. If you are a lover of beer, anything Weihenstephan and are in the area, definetly come here for amazing beer, history and experience.

Fantastic Bavarian food and atmosphere. We came here for lunch and were very impressed with the quality of the food - both vegetarian and traditional meat dishes. There is a large beergarden, where we enjoyed our lunch in the sun. The waitress was very friendly too.

Visited the oldest brewery in the world with family to celebrate. The place is relatively easy to get to, but parking can be difficult, as it is a busy restaurant. We called a head to reserve a table for four and were seated immediately. Ordering the food was quick and the food arrived very quickly even though it was a busy Saturday evening during Octoberfest. The food was excellent and so was the beer. Will definitely go again.

Our go-to restaurant when someone visits and we want to take them to an authentic bavarian restaurant with good beer. I love the decor inside. I will definitely come back to sit in the beer garden next time. The food is delicious and I strongly recommend to try the seasonal specials. Though there should be more vegetarian options, because not all of our friends are eating meat.

👍👍 As soon as you enter in the restaurant, you get a very warm welcome from the service. After you sit and start reading the menu, you will feel the smell of juicy beef being grilled right next to you making your mouth begin to water. The food was amazing, the beef was extremely tender and so so juicy....

🫤 The food is good and delicious, but the environment is quite noisy. I was in a group of 100 persons and we need to make a long queue to go underground and get your plate.
