(Translated by Google) The newly opened museum looks really beautiful. Bright, large rooms with large window fronts that allow a view over Freising. The exhibition itself consists almost exclusively of church art (you can imagine, but it is also a matter of taste). The current special exhibition about Vesuvius is definitely a highlight of the visit, as is the exhibition by James Turrell.

Deshalb heißt Turrells Werk auch A Chapel for Luke. (Translated by Google) A magnificent, bold synthesis of sacred art and sensual perception. From James Turrell's fantastic world of light, the view falls directly opposite on to the picture of St. Luke, an important Byzantine icon. That is why Turrell's work is also called A Chapel for Luke. The entire collection is architecturally appealing and equally lovingly and professionally designed. If you needed proof of how diverse and emotional the church can communicate through art - here it is.

A great architecture to start with. The collection of beautiful art objects is very well curated and interesting. Don’t miss the experience created by the artist James Turrel. One of a kind. Was lucky to see him for the second time. :). Please don’t miss the cafe restaurant!!! Great friendly service. Delicious contemporary Bavarian food and amazing cakes and the interior is wonderful and welcoming. !!! We need something like this in Munich :))

Sehr gelungene Renovierung. (Translated by Google) Very successful renovation. Better to call it a new building. But you also had 9 years 🙂 The building appears to have been copied from Munich's Prinz Ludwig Strasse. Just newer and shinier. The floor windows with the view are worth a visit if the weather cooperates and the outdoor dining area can still be used. The collection and the current exhibition can be experienced well during a visit as far as the duration is concerned. However, the house is not yet fully furnished and it will be interesting to see what else will appear there.

(Translated by Google) Wonderful, important museum with charisma. After the long, complex renovation, the world's second largest collection of European art with a religious focus after the Vatican museums is again open to the public and shows how high-ranking artists have solved religious pictorial themes and this up to the present: I like it very good!

A beautiful building and museum. We went to see the St Francis of Assisi exhibition which we found very interesting. Would be helpful to have the exhibition details in English also. No English guidebook. Would visit again. Thank you

Entrance 8€/Adult even on Sunday. 3 flloors. the ground one for reception, shop for souvenirs, wardrobe and a collection of wooden arts that i did not find interesting. the second floor was an exhibition of the development of Body art in german paintings from the old 1500's. The first floor is the true treasure. 8 levels or Halls of Christian arts following Bavarian style from the 13th till the 18th century. the basement is a restaurant with a view on all of Freising. The Museum is on the Upper Hill facing the Cathedral. dont forget to bring 1 euro for the closets.

Beautifully restored museum in picturesque Freising. The James Turrell Installation alone is worth a visit. The delightful permanent collection is mainly religious art and artifacts. I saw the ‘Verdammte Lust’ exhibition which was fascinating and perfectly curated. This is certainly worth a visit especially in combination with a visit of downtown Freising itself.

This was one of the best museum I have ever been, the place was the most self-reflected. Not only they curate the collections with history of their own but with artistic backgrounds of believes. The place is opened about questions beyond the religion and symbolic references of mankind. I am amazed with the quality of exhibition on the ground floor as well. Surely everyone knows James Turrell is amazing but I did not expect to see Berlinde De Bruyckere there. Keep on with amazing shows pls:) MUST visit their bibliotek, it is my dream reading room filled up with Vitra furnitures!! One request, might be good to alert people on the entrance that collections rather be PG even R-rated

(Translated by Google) Remodeling costs millions and our churches sometimes look ashamed. "Renovation postponed indefinitely - you can finally celebrate in a dirty church" Toompea is just a showcase project, the renovation is not canceled, there is less, but there is still enough money.

👍👍 As soon as you enter in the restaurant, you get a very warm welcome from the service. After you sit and start reading the menu, you will feel the smell of juicy beef being grilled right next to you making your mouth begin to water. The food was amazing, the beef was extremely tender and so so juicy....
