The Oakland cheesesteak was everything I needed. It’s a decent size and packed with flavor. I didn’t think I could eat the whole thing but I couldn’t stop eating lol. The meatballs on the kids menu was good and the portion size was good. We also ordered the Brussel sprouts no back and BAYYYBE! Best thing I had. It’s counter service so that was nice and it’s seems like a great place to be on a sunny day in Oakland because the restaurant is packed with natural lighting. So glad I finally came to this place after years of thinking it was a bar only.

My review below may have been at the moment the new owners were taking over and hadn't really gotten into the groove of things. I have been back at least a dozen times since my previous review and it couldn't be further from today's reality, especially in terms of service. Some food items are still a little underwhelming (overpriced with little to show), but the vast majority is fine or good. Great job on the turnaround. --- As many have mentioned, quality and service have slowly died over the past 3 years. Food portions, especially protein, are smaller and service is lacking. Today the manager, I believe, saw me enter, walk to the register and he simply turned and continued his conversation with a patron. The butchers saw and waived at me. Finally, after 5 awkward minutes, one of them walked over to the guy and tapped him on the shoulder pointing at me. He finally came over and apologized for the wait. As nice as he was, this is not acceptable- I grew up in the restaurant business (family business) and worked 5 years as front of house, busser and waiter. No one else was there, just this other patron and I. I ordered the fish and chips. This is what $17 looks like. The butcher part of the restaurant is now defunct and they removed the displays. I think it's just a matter of time before the shut down altogether, unless something changes.

An absolutely amazing place to grab lunch. The food was really tasty and well portioned. The service at this place rivals Michelin star eatablishments and I am so glad I found this place.

Great sandwiches! So so fries, they were a bit dry. Butcher counter looks like it has some great cuts. We weren't sure we were in the right location tho at first as we saw no menus, no sign that it was a restaurant. We were welcomed by one of the butcher's who pointed us to menus by the cash register👍 Nice casual vibe, good music. Would return too try other sandwiches.

Philly cheese steak at its finest. Everything about this cheese steak was great, from the bread roll it was on, to the steak and mushrooms, to the melted nacho cheese on top. You can basically ignore the side salad though, perhaps it can make you feel a little bit better by adding a healthy element. The cheese steak is pretty decently sized, so come hungry.

It's got a nice neighborhood corner shop-vibe. Great cheese steak, great service. I'm normally not much of a salad guy but I got one as a side and it was also pretty good!

Great place to eat a large lunch or dinner; all the dishes come with a side salad. The Philly cheese steak was really good along with the chicarones with beans and pork. It’s a bit pricey,$30 for the sandwich and the fried pork.

Clove and Hoof, a delightful place to dine, Their burgers are truly divine. The flavors explode with every bite, And the staff is friendly, making it just right.

Local butcher + restaurant. We did not try the butcher so I can't judge that aspect of the business but we ate there. In short, the fries were really good and the meat excellent! The cheesesteak was a pleasure, cheesy and gooey with a very tasty mix of meat onions and shrooms inside. The burger was tasty and juicy. The staff was nice to us and helpful during the order.

Delicious sandwiches and the cheese fries were to die for!! I had the Cuban and it was well put together with a fantastic grainy mustard that set the whole thing off. Definitely worth stopping in!

Everything was delicious! The chicken sandwich was unique and amazing (jalapeno, mint, pineapple!) and the cheesesteak was super yummy. My friend loved his burger. They also had a solid beer (and soda) selection. Pro tip - don't forget to grab a cookie. There's just the right hint of salt.

Is the cheese steak sandwich the best sandwich over had in my entire life? In addition to living in Philadelphia for three years I have eaten, by some estimates, 11 million sandwiches. This is definitely in my top 5. Amaze.

I got a Reuben on gluten free bread and the serving size was HUGE. The pastrami was excellent quality, the kraut was super fresh and honestly these fries. The fries were perfectly cooked. Like the crispiest best little bites I've had in forever. I kept eating them long after I was full. I will definitely come back!

One of the best cheesesteaks of my life. The beef was so tender and juicy and portion was generous! Nice big side salad was great. The bun was slightly crisp and more like a ciabatta; none of those wimpy gross hot dog type buns. Service was super fast and my to go order was ready within minutes. Highly recommend; everything is super fresh and delicious!

First time here. Simple but well executed hot sandwiches and burgers. It has a old timey diner vibe and they have beer. The chef was singing while preparing the food! Pity it was empty on a Tues night but I did see some to-go orders going out the door so it may be more of that type of place. Not really butcher shop though (at least at 7pm).
