Nice destination to spend the evening. Nice arrangement to the seat. Also, an area crowded with good hotels and infrastructures on one side and sea sore on another side. We can enjoy Sunset here.

I'd never recommend spending big chunk of money on things that will just give pleasure for little time. But I'd always encourage y'all to try out things that are free. For example - Watching sunset at Marine Drive is one of the best things I've experienced. . Now this might not make sense of some of you but definitely makes hell lot of sense to me. It really clams me down and gives me a chance to have a 'me time' from the busy schedule that I have lately. I love sitting there and watch the sun completely drown in the sea.

This place is not a place, its an emotional place for mumbaikar, To celebrate people go here, to have some peace of mind people go here, to enjoy natural beauty people go here, to cry people go here, to laugh people go here and the list is on and on. Best time to visit this place is during sunset, would request you to go a bit early so that you can get place to sit and enjoy beautiful and peaceful sunset. The golden hour at this place with the skyscrapers behind it is just peaceful to soul. After the sunset you can enjoy your dinner to nearby cafe. Also request you to wear mask due to covid restriction another wise the bmc officers would fine with β‚Ή200/-

Pros: 1. Clean promenade to enjoy long strolls. You can enjoy quieter strolls if you visit in the morning (around 10 to 11 AM). You could visit in the evening too and enjoy strolls under the sunset, but you'll hardly have serenity with a thousand bustling voices right beside your ears. 2. Beautiful horizon and shrubberies along the pavement serve as natural backdrops to grab a few selfies with loved ones. Cons: 1. Pesky civil-service employees who keep a watchful eye over your movements to ensure that you wear masks at all time (or else pay a fine of Rs. 500). They come at you quietly with their mobile in hand, all the while recording you for evidence, kind of like a predator approaching its prey in the wild. 2. Currently, the area is undergoing construction, so you might see half portion sealed off, but you can still enjoy all the things you love about the marine drive while you're there. 3. The area beside the tetrapod rocks are a mess as usual. The waste debris from the sea still wash up on them, which steals the beauty of the place. Conclusion: Definitely worth the visit! Don't sweat the small stuff and look at the big picture, which is spending some quality time with your loved ones.

Marine Drive Beach is a famous waterfront promenade located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is a vibrant and bustling place known for its scenic beauty, breathtaking sunsets, and stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The 3.6-kilometer-long boulevard is lined with palm trees and art deco buildings, creating a charming atmosphere. Many locals and tourists visit Marine Drive to enjoy leisurely walks, relax on the beach, or simply soak in the vibrant ambiance. The highlight of Marine Drive is the iconic "Queen's Necklace," a nickname given to the view of the streetlights that resemble a necklace when seen from a distance at night. The beach offers a picturesque backdrop for photography, and various food stalls and vendors are scattered along the promenade, offering delicious street food and snacks. People often gather here to spend quality time with friends and family, especially during the evenings and weekends. Marine Drive Beach is not typically recommended for swimming due to strong currents, but it provides a lovely place to unwind, take in the views, and enjoy the cool sea breeze.

As always it’s a cool place to visit in Mumbai. After lockdowns this was the first time I was there and I can feel the change, the sea color has changed, it looks very clean, the environment is refreshed there. You have to be in mask every time which is good thing these days or else pay a fine of 200 Rs. but on the other hand this is not correct because if mask is must there then why hawkers and eatables are allowed and why people are allowed to remove mask while eating but not allowed for a minute due to some genuine reason. Mask must be mandatory in current scenario and then also no eatables to be allowed so that no one can remove mask in public place.

Beautiful place to enjoy sunrise and sunset. Peace of mind near sea. Good place available fully furnished seats to enjoy with anyone here. Just feel the nature and forget the mumbai crowds. Open your arms and close your eyes and feels the sound of wave. There is a magic.

Go a bit early if you want a decent spot to sit and take photos at, it gets extremely crowded just before sun set and you’ll not get any place to sit down or take photos. Best to carry something to eat and a bottle of water as there really isn’t much to buy from. The occasional street vendors are present but that’s hardly sufficient. The policing here is very good and the constant beat is reassuring for safety. Some of the best spots to sit in are a little closer to Nariman point away from the city so that you get the entire skyline in your photos, thank me later!!

visiting Marine Drive on holidays can result in heavy crowds and traffic congestion. If you prefer a more peaceful experience, it might be better to visit on weekdays or during off-peak hours when there are fewer people around. This way, you can enjoy the serene atmosphere and beautiful views without the hustle and bustle of a crowded day

Marine drive is also known as Queen's Necklace because, when viewed at night from an elevated point anywhere along the drive, the street lights resemble a string of pearls in a necklace. Awesome place. It’s near to Churchgate railway station, mumbai. Best time to visit : Evening / Night

Went to Marine Drive with friends after finishing exams. It was a wonderful joy and experience. This place is just awesome. The blowing of the cool winds, waves of the sea, beautiful and stunning sun, open space, and calm environment... It refreshes the mood and inner soul. You can visit this place easily by CST railway station. It's just 20 minutes away by walk, or you can take a bus.

Visited on a Sunday morning as part of city tour with family. The stretch is vast with ample space for parking and hangout. The place is maintained well. There is place for you to sit facing the sea which also gives you a good view of the city sky scrappers through a haze. There are street hawkers selling some snacks and tea/coffee. There is some construction going on as part of Coastal Road project and some area is closed off. Beware of the BMC staff who would fine you for lowering/removing mask for clicking photos, even if no-one around. I ended up paying first time but when they came again, resisted as there was no-one around and we just lowered for a snap. While COVID precautions are to be followed, this attitude by civic workers is a deterrent for the tourists. There is no warning or notice informing you of fine, being a tourist place. Overall a must visit, especially in the morning time.

Really good place if you want to clear your mind. Just sit and listen to waves crashing on the rocks (unless there is crowd). It is never empty and you see one or the other person always there. But really good place to hangout with you friends and family also if you go alone.

The official name for this road, though rarely used, is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Road. The promenade is lined with palm trees. At the northern end of Marine Drive is Chowpatty Beach. This is a popular beach famed for its Bhel Puri (local fast food). Many restaurants also line this stretch of the road. Further down this road lies Walkeshwar, a wealthy neighborhood of the city, also home to the Governor of Maharashtra. Most of the buildings erected by wealthy Parsis were constructed in an art deco style, which was popular in the 1920s and 1930s. Among the earliest art deco buildings on Marine Drive were the Kapur Mahal, Zaver Mahal and Keval Mahal, built between 1937 and 1939 for a total cost of 1 million rupees.[1] Real estate prices along the Esplanade are high. Many hotels dot the drive, most prominent among them being the 5-star Oberoi (formerly the Oberoi Hilton Tower however reverted to the original name as of early 2008), The Intercontinental, Hotel Marine Plaza, Sea Green Hotel and a few other smaller hotels. Marine Drive is the preferred connecting road between the central business district located at Nariman Point and the rest of the city. Many Sports Clubs, some of cricket stadium and club grounds are situated along the stretch of Marine Drive, including members-only clubs like the Cricket Club of India (CCI), adjoining the Brabourne Stadium, Hindu Gymkhana Ground and Garware Club House, adjacent to the famous Wankhede Stadium, as well as others like the Mumbai Police Gymkhana, Hindu Gymkhana, Parsi Gymkhana and Islam Gymkhana. A well known singer from the 1950s, Suraiya lived in a building on the stretch known as 'Krishna Mahal' in the ground-floor apartment (as a tenant of Shah family) from 1940s until her death on 31 January 2004. The house was first taken on rent by her mother, Mumtaz Begum. Many other film stars, such as Nargis and Raj Kapoor, lived nearby in the 1940s and 50s. In 2012, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai announced that the entire road would be resurfaced, 72 years after it was originally laid.[2] A number of bollards were also installed as there was nothing to prevent accidents or attacks. A few years earlier, the footpaths were renovated

Marine Drive has to single handedly win the best place in Mumbai award because you can experience entire India here from sea to land, from beach to concrete, from food to fitness, from young to old, from sad to happiness…. This is the go-to place of Mumbaikas to drown their sorrows in the Arabian Sea and get out fresh for another day of hustle because staying in a city like Mumbai is challenging and not rewarding most times but the growth is also high compared to any other city in India. Services here: Snacks at Marine drive walk path All kinds of Food at Girgaon Chowpatty Foot Massage and Body Massage Washrooms Happy Memories Marine drive should be added to your bucket list for your next Mumbai visit.

The beach is beautiful which has extended too much approx to 1 km. It's a best view for sea sighting. It's clean also but it should be more clean. The fresh air blows continuously. One thing I found very disappoint that it's very unsafe to sit on the beach wall as it doesn't have any kind of barricades which can cause any kind of accident

The best sea view at Mumbai City. A lovely, pleasant, beautiful, and amazing place to visit. You can spend time all the hours of the day. Even in sunny the atmosphere of this place so pleasant. The peaktime is afternoon to midnight. You can have an elegant view in during morning without crowd. An amazing see view. Really you will get love here.....❀️

Popularly known as Chowpatty, the beach is located in southern Mumbai along the western railway route. This small sandy beach is a popular place to chill, and a must visit for all tourists who visit Marine Drive for the first time. At night, the beach appears to look like a colourful fair. Children from all age groups rush to ride the Ferris wheel and merry-go-rounds, while the adults indulge in the city's famous street snacks. Visitors also head to nearby attractions and local markets, to get the most out of their day out. Never is this beach empty or deserted. You will always find one or the other person here, lazing around on the beach; or children, lost in their world, blithely building sand castles along the shore. All in all, the Girgaum Chowpatty offers fun, frenzy and delights all rolled into one, and it is worth spending a few hours here to break free from the usually claustrophobic city.

Marine Drive is a famous coastal road in Mumbai, India. It's known for its beautiful promenade along the Arabian Sea, often referred to as the "Queen's Necklace" due to its curved shape and the sparkling streetlights that resemble a necklace at night. It's a popular spot for leisurely walks and offers stunning views of the sea.

    1. Very cool place to sit with. You will see people jogging here early in the morning and a good view of the beach. 2. Opposite this is the bus stand where you can see double decker buses and normal buses operated by the Mumbai government. 3. Buses are very cheap to travel in mumbai, also readily available.

Never expected this place to be busy even at 2 am midnight. The kids, senior citizens, couples , joggers everyone can be seen as if this was just evening time. The breeze and the vibes were so awesome. Though the water smells, we get used to it within few minutes. Felt soothing throughout the time. Just sit facing the waves and shake your legs as long as you wanted. No one bothers you. You don’t even feel like surfing on your mobile. It was waxing gibbous!!! The clouds and the moon along with the breeze made it so cinematic to begin with. Overall a best place to hangout with buddies.

I feel it's the only neat and clean beach in Mumbai, although you cannot go too close to water like the other beaches. It must be more beautiful in the early mornings or weekdays. I went on weekday by chance and it was very crowded, there was no place to sit or even to take a picture properly, just managed to click few. Only private cars or taxis are allowed in this area so no such traffic issues along the beach. With friends and family you can spend some time there but for solo travellers no peace or space as such.
