August Kranti Maidan is a historically significant landmark located in Mumbai, India. It was the site of the famous speech by Mahatma Gandhi on August 8, 1942, where he called for the Quit India Movement against the British Raj. The speech marked a turning point in India's struggle for independence, and the movement that followed eventually led to India's freedom in 1947. The August Kranti Maidan is a spacious ground, spread across an area of 3 acres, located in the heart of Mumbai. The ground is often used for political rallies, concerts, and other public gatherings. The place has a significant historical value and is visited by a large number of tourists, historians, and researchers. Apart from the historical significance, the August Kranti Maidan is also a well-maintained public space that serves as a popular hangout spot for the locals. The ground has a jogging track, children's play area, and a walking path surrounded by lush green trees. The place is also home to several food stalls that serve delicious local snacks and drinks. Overall, the August Kranti Maidan is a must-visit for anyone interested in Indian history and culture. It is a great place to learn about India's struggle for independence and to experience the spirit of the Indian people.

One of the best and awesome playground for kids. It has full rubber flooring, good sitting place, benches for parents, around 9 slides, 2 sea-saws, 8 swings, and many more attractions. It is clean also. Garden closes at 9pm. It has nice lighting too. Even good for skating. There is no bathroom in park. There is one sandwich-wala, bhel-puri-wala, gola-wala, dosa-wala outside main entrance of August Kranti Park. Enjoy. Turab Hirani.

August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai holds a very important place in the history of Indian independence struggle as it was from the spot from where Mahatma Gandhi ordered the British to leave India. The Mahatma’s command to the British on August 8, 1942, marked the launch of the Quit India movement.

This garden is must go after it has been renovated. Let's hope they can maintain it. Difficult though but nice people around.

One part of the maidan is developed with grass and children’s play area, while the other is raw with red sand (not sure if this is by design). There are football practice sessions held by the various soccer academies which happen simultaneously with the locals playing around (generally cricket) Not very sure about the historical significance of this maidan.

It is an important landmark in the Indian Independence War. The "Mumbai Freedom Trail" runs through the centre of the park while the sides are filled with lush greenery. There is a children's play area within the park premises which hosts a comprehensive range of play equipment including jungle gyms of every kind. Overall, an excellent place to have a midday stroll in the midst of the city.

The park is brand new and the party amenities are well maintained. The park has a soft rubber floor across the whole large play area and open from all sides. Slightly dark during the evening with the way the lights are installed. But definitely a good park to take your kids.

On August 7, 1942, the All India Congress Committee organized its session under the Presidentship of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, which continued past-midnight into the next day. The venue was the Gowalia Tank Maidan, which was located 250 metres away from Goculdas Tejpal House, the place where the Indian National Congress was established in December 1885. The next day (August 8. 1942), the call for "Quit India Movement" was given, with the mantra of "do or die."[2][3][4] In the words of Gandhi "Here is a mantra, a short one, that I give you. You may imprint it on your hearts and let every breath of yours give expression to it. The mantra is: "Do or Die". We shall either free India or die in the attempt; we shall not live to see the perpetuation of our slavery".[5] The call mobilised the citizens to a huge Civil Disobedience movement as the British refused to grant independence till the World War II (1939 to 1945) was over
