Temple of mumba devi is open for all, they follow social distancing that's why they send devotees in batches, wearing mask in temple is mandatory all the time. They don't accept offerings. They give back your offerings again. Temple has taken great initiative of vaccination and covid antigen test Freely. Any one can go and have their covid antigen test free of cost. Beautiful temple in the midst of the chaotic and heavy traffic Mumbai city. No place for car parking. Recommended to take a taxi, uber or Ola. Not busy on a weekday around 1-2pm. Temple was open. Om Sakthi 🙏🏽. #IndiaTrip

The goddess Mumba was patron of the Marathi speaking Koli people, the original inhabitants of the Seven Islands of Bombay. She is depicted as a black stone sculpture in the temple. An etymology of Mumba that is popular is "Maha Amba," or "Great Mother," one of the many of India's more well-known names for the Hindu Mother Goddess (Devi). Located in Bhuleshwar area in South Mumbai, the temple is in the heart of the steel and clothing markets. It is a sacred pilgrimage spot and place of worship for Hindus and is thus visited daily by hundreds of people. It is not uncommon for visitors of Mumbai to pay their respects at the temple and is one of the tourist attractions of Mumbai.

The Gaon Devi of Mumbai "Mumbadevi" , the old famous shrine is located amidst the busy busted street of Mumbai between Kalbadevi road and Bhuleshwar bazar , touching the entry of Zaveri bazar, one can get a cab from Churchgate railway station to this shrine or its just a walk from charni road station or Marine lines station, it's believed that one residing in Mumbai and aspire to settle well then thy must seek blessings of the Gaondevi Mumbadevi by paying regular visits to this holy shrine, and then the Gaondevi Mumbadevi will surely bless the devotee with prosperity. Mumbaidevi ki Jay.

Name of the Devotee itself describes how the Bombay got the name Mumbai (Mumba+ Aayi). 'Mumba' is regarded as the goddess of Maharatra histories and in their believes and also 'Aayi' refers Mother. Temple is situated 1.8km from the Marine lines Railway station , probably a walking of 15-20minutes of course. Everyone should visit if you get the opportunity. ❤️😊🤞

⭐⭐⭐ 🚂 My journey to the heart of Mumbai began from Kharghar, a train ride winding its way to Masjid Bunder. Imagine my surprise when the very city named after the revered Mumba Devi, didn't have signboards leading to her abode! 🌃🤷‍♂️ A 1.2 km walk, where every step felt like turning the pages of Mumbai's bustling life, led me to her. The streets, wrapped in the cacophony of markets, were sadly marred by filth. 🏢🗑️ It's paradoxical how a city that owes its name to the goddess doesn't maintain the path leading to her! 🤔💔 Yet, amidst the mazes of alleys, there stood the Mumba Devi Temple. Small and ensconced amidst towering buildings, it felt like a serene oasis in the midst of a concrete desert. 🏛️🌿 Inside, a divine aura wrapped around me, offering solace to the soul, even though I couldn't help but wish that the temple had the grandeur it so rightly deserves. 🙏✨ The temple grounds? Immaculate and clean, yet so constricted, almost like a gem encased in a tight setting. A corridor around the temple, I mused, would be a breath of fresh air, a walkway for devotees to soak in her blessings. 🌼🚶‍♂️ On my way back, I chose a different path, leading me to the iconic CSTM station in just a brisk 20-25 minute walk. 🚉⏳ Mumbai, a city of dreams, a city named after Mumba Devi. It's high time our beloved city pays homage to its namesake. I earnestly hope 🙏 that the government and the affluent denizens 🎩 recognize her significance, not just in name but in deed. Here's to envisioning a grander, cleaner, and more accessible temple in the heart of Mumbai! 🌟🏙️ --- I hope this review captures the essence of your experience and resonates with the readers!

Mumbadevi temple represents Devi of mumbai. A very old temple situated in the crowded area of bhuleshwar market is a divine & holy place for devotees. There are two entrances to the temple from front & back. Accommodation for footwear is available for free. Drinking water is available. One can carry out their rituals here from pandits. The crowd depends on the occasions, days & time. A good place to get traditional ornaments from a hawker nearby. Paid Parking space is available nearby but goes through a very congested area. A suggestion for management to please maintain the cleanliness in the temple.

Mumbai name is derived from this blessed devi Maa mumbadevi. Hindu old temple 🙏 You will get more crowd during navratri and festival. It is located near masjid bunder station ( harbor line) . You can also visit via marine line railway station( western line). 10-15 mins walking from both the stations. Traditional temple in main Mumbai javeri bajar. Behavior of pandits forcing to tie devi band in hand and earn money.

It was really nice experience, don't trust any pandit, any shop to put your shoes, because every facilities is there inside the temple area. I think there are all gods temple around the main temple, it was really good place to visit with your family and friends. The temple is located in center of the city so you must visit all main bazar near the temple..

There is a very lovely temple of Mumba Devi. If you go for darshan in the morning, you will get darshan easily. It gets very crowded after 10 o'clock. There are many small shops here, from where you can take the offerings of worship. The guards here are very polite. If you come to Mumbai, then definitely visit here once. Jay Mumba Devi

Mumbai devi the goddess of Power!!! Name of the city Mumbai derived from the name of this goddess only. This beautiful temple was said to be built in 18th century and the guardian of Koli and Agri community! And visited by many devotees. Located at the heart of city near to Masjid railway station which is one of the suburban railway on central line of Mumbai local. Walk out towards right hand side facing towards CSMT station and follow straight path for 7 to 10 minutes to reach at the entrance of temple. Better to visit temple in morning hours to get peaceful and quick darshan! Many puja and flowers shops are present in the premises of temple and they may ask you to remove your footwear at their shop and insist you to purchase something from them (many shopkeepers force to purchase so better to avoid them!!!) Shoe stand is present at the entrance.

This is a very old and traditional temple dedicated to goddess mumbadevi. This is located right in the heart of the city and even the city is named after this powerful and divine goddess. The temple was built in 18th century. Weekends and festive seasons are very busy here with thousands and thousands of devotees visiting. Happy to have received blessings of the goddess.

Very vibrant, beautiful and peaceful, the temple is pretty crowded most of the time but it is worth every second you wait to get darshan because the premises of the temple have so much to offer once you get in.

This temple was built in honour of the Goddess Amba. The present name of the city is derived from the Goddess Mumbadevi. The temple itself is not impressive but is an important landmark as it is dedicated to Mumba Devi, the city's patron deity. The international name of the City is Bombay. 'Bombay' is an anglicized version of the Portuguese name used by the British when they took control of the city in the 17th century. The name the city was referred to as Bom Bahia, meaning 'good bay'.

Mumbadevi Temple is a beautiful and historic temple located in the heart of Mumbai. The temple is dedicated to Mumba Devi, the patron goddess of the city, and is a popular pilgrimage site for both locals and tourists alike. The temple is known for its stunning architecture and intricate carvings, which are a testament to the skill of the craftsmen who built it. The atmosphere inside the temple is serene and peaceful, making it a perfect place for spiritual reflection and meditation. Visitors to Mumbadevi Temple can participate in daily puja ceremonies, which are conducted by the temple priests. The puja involves the offering of flowers, incense, and other items to the deity, and is a deeply spiritual and moving experience. The temple also has a small bazaar outside where you can buy souvenirs, traditional clothing, and other items. The vendors are friendly and welcoming, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, Mumbadevi Temple is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Hindu culture and spirituality. The temple's rich history, stunning architecture, and peaceful atmosphere make it a truly unique and unforgettable experience.

Famous religion place of Mumbai. Best time to visit the temple is afternoon. You may face a long queue in the evening. The temple is in a street which is usually dirty. However, the vibe of the temple is peaceful and divine.

Spiritual experience. While buying Pooja thali from stalls outside, don't take the box that they have already prepared, ask them to fill a new box by choosing the mithai of your choice. The box that they have ready has dry old sweets.

This temple was built in honour of the Goddess Amba. The Mumbadevi temple is six centuries old. The first Mumbadevi temple was situated at Bori Bunder, and is believed to have been destroyed between 1739 and 1770. After the destruction a new temple was erected at the same place at Bhuleshwar.

Mumbai chi Devi Mumbadevi. Divine place in the heart of mumbai at Kalbadevi. Often crowded with a large que of more than 200+ devotees. Ensure very early arrival to avoid standing in sun, some vendors may lure to take material from their stores and shall facilitate you for early entry inside "Take it at your Risk". Still the STUPID SYSTEM OF POLITICIANS & HIGHER RANK OFFICIAL OR SOMEONE WITH VASHILA" are allowed to visit near the sanctum; but for rest of the public who had been standing in sun and reaching there are been thrown out of line citing reasons of COVID. DO NOT TAKE COCONUT FOR DEVI AS THE SAME IS BLACK MARKETTED AND AUCTIONED BACK TO THE SAME VENDORS LATER, earlier it was broken and half was given back. People who run the templehave ruined the place. "Mumbadevi ki Barfi" is a must have for everyone and is also known to all that it is a signature Dish of the Temple surrounding Of course not to forget a good lunch/dinner at the #Original Bhagat Tarachand, which is at the closest proximity to the temple and also is closed on Sundays. (Rest of the franchises are open) Not to forget to mention the only Desi Ghee Jalebi available between the temple gate and Original Bhagat Tarachand hotel, yes it is exported as well. Have a great time at Bhuleshwar amd not to forget to see the only RAM MANDIR there. Walk around for 20 mins to reach Chowpatty!! Take guidance of the locals.

Mumba devi (Goddess of Mumbai) Legend says - To take the form of Mahakali, goddess Parvati had to reincarnate in the form of a fisherwoman by which she can gain the ability of perseverance and concentration (as a fisherman gains both these qualities while learning fishing). Goddess Parvati then incarnated as a fisher woman and took hermitage at the place of fishermen (current location—Mumbai). Goddess Parvati at her early age was known as Matsya and later she came to be known as Mumba in her fisherwoman form.
