We rented a condo along with two other couples to celebrate New Year's Eve. I am 80 years old, the others in our group are in their 70's and one the most significant reason we chose Pointe West is the condos have elevators. The elevator in our building (and maybe one other) stopped working sometime on Thursday night and was still not working on Sunday when we left. No one answered our calls to Point West management and no were numbers posted for an emergency contact. Fortunately, the younger members of the group could help me get our luggage down three stories or I don't know what I would have done. Even though our condo was great, I suggest you don't rely on Pointe West Resort for your vacation.

Condos are nice but plenty of fruit flies that due to a lack of deep cleaning are everywhere. Make sure to bring covers for all your meals. It has been constantly windy here every day too. It literally never stops. The beach is decent sized and private, but there is a rattlesnake habitat warning between the facility and the beach. So if you are afraid of snakes, you have been warned, however we saw none during our stay. The main pool is cold but fun, however there is no safety protection on the infinity edge of the pool, as a 4 ft drop to hard ground is on the other side of it. So make sure to keep an eye on your kids. The hot tub is integrated to that pool but it was crowded due to how cold the main pool was. The price of required wrist bands to use amenities was inaccurate through Vacasa (they did refund us the difference, and finally updated the price on one of their postings). Vacasa said they would refund the rest of our bands for the other issues as outlined below, but that has yet to happen. They advertised there is a restaurant on site, but there is no on site restaurant that is open. Permanently closed according to Pointe West. The heated pool and lazy river was was closed for repairs and chemical treatment during the bulk of our stay. It opened on our last day. It is very warm but still being worked on garden wise so there are some minor safety issues. Pointe West turned water off twice during our stay and we only were given a heads up the night before on both days. The water off started at 8AM each day. No running water throughout the complex. So we were forced to leave for bathing, cooking, bathrooms, and laundry. No compensation was received for this major inconvenience. Overall Galveston made the trip better as we had plenty we could do in town. A fun place to be and lots of family friendly things to do. The duck boat, moody gardens, moody mansion, pleasure pier, naval museum, rainforest cafe and river ride...etc. It is a 30 minute drive to town so be prepared for that extra delay.

Overall we love this place. We have stayed here with our family now a couple weeks over the span of two years. Each visit this location seems to mature and get a little better. (Fine whine) Our only complaint is the elevators are poorly maintained. My 70 year old mother, my wife, and I had the pleasure of getting stuck in one of the condo elevators for about 15 mins and it requires us to use the emergency call. Not the greatest experience.

Our kids own a beautiful condo here. I wouldn't have a problem living here. The Pointe West pool is beautiful. Their restaurant is good.

The condo we stayed in was beautifully updated and had a great view! We stayed for a week at the end of March, the weather wasn't great, very windy and foggy, sometimes chilly. The on-site restaurant was closed during our stay, the only heated pool was closed 5 of the 6 days we were there, the other pool was too cold to swim in and the water in our condo was shut off for 4 hours one morning and 6 hours another morning. We felt as though the resort wasn't ready for guests the week we stayed and left a bit disappointed that our experience wasn't as anticipated. I would advise to ask the Beach Club about upcoming maintenance plans prior to booking your stay.

Perfect vacation spot for our family of 6. We beat the summer rush by visiting the week before Memorial Day. Kids loved the pools and the adults loved the break from crowds and traffic. The views were beautiful in every direction. We’ll stay again the next time we visit Galveston. The restaurant was being renovated - looking forward to poolside drinks and snacks next time.

Great selections at "Pointe West Galveston" on www. VRBO .com. A true get away from the crowds and right in the best of what mother nature offers!

Sad to see this once pristine and beautiful place not being maintained and still charging extra money to access non-operational lazy river and a pool crumbling at the bottom. Saw them working on landscaping, while sewage was leaking from the pipes into parking garage under our building, the buildings are looking dirty (maybe it’s the time of year?) also concerning was there also was no response from staff after calling about beeping from a fire system panel room. The views are still pretty, but after coming here for the last few years, I was just sad.

The condo is placed right in front of a rattlesnake habitat. There are no hand bars or any safety features for handicapped or elderly visitors in any of the rooms. The view was nice, although the owner is very paricular about you not moving any of the patio furniture to be conducive to your visit. Constantly very, very windy.

We are staying here for the first time renting a 3 bedroom condo for a week through VRBO/Evolve. The owner has been very communicative and helpful. The beach is very wide, the ocean slopes gently, and there is a pool and we had food trucks this weekend. The loungers at the pool are hard plastic so we prefer the beach. But we want to come back!

We were here over Labor Day weekend. It was still very warm and muggy. Unfortunately, there were tons of mosquitoes. it's still a very nice resort but they need to do something about all of the mosquitoes.

The resort itself is very nice, the food is good, and the infinity pool is pristine. However, the arm band prices are a little ridiculous. In addition, my room didn't have air condition due to racoon problems in the building.

My wife and I have been here many times, and I'm sure we'll return many more. It's not perfect, but it's the best in Galveston, and we always have a great time. (This is the view from our condo balcony. )

Pointe West is my favorite spot on Galveston Island. I wish I could give it a 6 star review!

This was a family mini vacation and the first time we have stayed on the West End of the Island. Beautiful place to stay and had all the things you would expect in an resort. We did rent a golf cart to make it easier to get to all the different venues. The food was good at the restaurant ( a little expensive, but to be expected at any resort ) The weather was good and it was not overly crowded. The pools were well maintained and always clean and inviting. The beach was private to the resort. We will absolutely go back again and maybe try going during the fall or spring. I have lived in Houston all of my life and have never been to Galveston's West Beach, but I would recommend trying it for yourself .

Very clean, peaceful property. Large pool/ beach club was beautiful. 'Lazy river' at the other pool/ section.... huge disappointment...more like a lazy triangle. TINY. I believe it may be for children.
