While in town, we were trying to figure out where to go as a couple for my birthday. The reason we chose Max's was because they were open later than most restaurants in the area. We were so glad we made this awesome choice. The atmosphere was amazing. It was the perfect venue for a romantic dinner for two, a semi-large group or just hanging out in the bar area with friends. That, coupled with the friendliness of the staff, made for an awesome experience. Let's talk about the food. Mouth-watering 😋 wonderfully prepared .... I can't say enough about the scrumptious 😋 taste. The Topper: i was offered any dessert item from the menu free for my birthday! So cool 😎 and glorious!!

For my main course, I ordered the pork chop. It was huge! I couldn't finish it all, but it was cooked perfectly and very juicy. My wife ordered the chicken Marcella, and she also enjoyed her meal. For dessert, we had the bread pudding. It was amazing! It was warm and gooey, with a delicious caramel sauce. Overall, I had a great experience at Max's Bistro. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. It’s like taking a trip back to the 90’s in a good way. The food was outstanding. Great drink options. The staff was super sweet and inviting. The crowed was also comfortable to be around. The restrooms where a bit below my standards. However, they had some sort of girl private party that may have overwhelmed their capability of keeping tidy in that area. It still does not detour me from coming back.

Wow! I haven't been here in many years and have been missing out! Very elaborate menu with specialties you can't get just anywhere. Great atmosphere, wonderful attentive service and excellent, very delicious food! They also added the finishing Birthday touch to the desert we ordered that was very classy and made a great dinner experience even that much better.

Top notch dining all around! From the moment you enter you feel the high quality experience begin. The atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated yet you feel as if you just stopped over to visit longtime friends. The art and decor has been beautifully assembled, even down to the artistically styled floor. We sat at the bar and the Tenders were outstanding, very friendly and very busy, they didn't stop moving to get people what they needed. My whiskey mule's were delicious and perfectly made. The food was absolutely delicious!!! My Aunt and Uncle let me try their fish special and prime rib dishes, tender and juicy beef, the sauce for the fish was perfectly flavored. And my lamb chops were cooked and seasoned to perfection, my taste buds were enjoying every second! Oh, and can't forget dessert! Lava cakes are popular, but often fall short of what they really should be, not here! Just the right amount of crust to encase the molten chocolate, excellently done! An all around top notch establishment that I hope to return to many times, thank you!

I did a last-minute reservation. When I showed up they were very tentative. The cooks were happy and singing even the owner greeted me JJ. I ordered mac and cheese. A glass of Cabernet, truffle fries, filet mignon, prawns, and meatloaf. Celebrating my son's birthday everything was delicious. I was surprised how good the mac and cheese was. And I do travel a lot this was the best one so far and it's in my hometown. I'm going back for the food and especially for the service

Friendly service. We reserved a table and we were seated right away upon our arrival. The Bavette Steak was delicious. The Ahi tuna on tostada was fresh. The Pesto Pappardelle was good but the add-on chicken was overcooked. Overall I would rate the food 4 out of 5. The dining experience is 5 out of 5.

Was surprised the restaurant was so big inside. I loved the art everywhere and the unique atmosphere. Darker lighting. Customer service was on point. Was not busy at all. We had mac n cheese, filet steak, bread pudding....everything was soooooo exquisite🤤🤤 I highly recommend trying this place out. There are not so many options on the menu like other restaurants, but whatever they do have is amazing. My compliments to the chef 🤌 Was close to $100 for 2 people.

All I can say is that it's so 😋 yummy!!! It's a must try. The food is amazing, My ribeye was cooked to perfection service was excellent 👌 with a smile too, which is always a plus!!!!!

What a great experience, atmosphere, food and drinks are amazing. We sat at the bar and Josh and Noah were great hosts to us visiting from out of town. We both got their specials and they did not disappoint. Super great vibe about this place.

Always enjoy coming here , very artistic decor and ambiance … their food quality and presentation is amazing and consistent… wether sitting inside , patio of the private room , it’s always awesome ….. always left this place satisfied and happy

The atmosphere and service is always great here. The trio fries appetizer is a must! They also have a great Chinese chicken salad and Wedge salad. This time I ordered their chicken breast entree. It was ok- the garlic was flavor too strong for my liking.

Easily some of the best food in Fresno. Everything was cooked to perfection. Great service, great food, and the restaurant provided a great environment. I've spent more at Ruth's Chris to only have a fraction of the experience. Max's is now my go-to "fancier" dining. Thank you for making my birthday dinner with my wife a memorable one.

The Restaurant was busy, I did not mind the wait. I was however disappointed in the quality of our food. Our deviled eggs were grainy. The Plating was messy. The entree which was Chilean sea bass did not seem as if it met the quality that the restaurant is known for. The flesh was under seasoned. The flakes of flesh had a slime layer. The flesh was also pungent. The plate was not served hot which I’m not sure was intentional. The polenta that came with the fish was absolutely bland. There was a film of oil over the polenta. I could see whatever was cooked in the polenta had separated. The spinach it was served with was not great either, I doubt it was salted. It was a lump of cold leaves besides the fish. I had also ordered a Caesar salad and my partner the wedge salad which came chopped. The chicken that was served on the salad was dry, it resembled freezer bag chicken tenders you find in a grocery store. The pine nuts in the salad did not achieve the consistency they were attempting as some were rock solid like gravel and some soft. The other salad was incredibly dry served with a lemon wedge and raw red onions. I don’t mind that I was seated on a table pushed against a wall; I also didn’t mind the construction paper covering the wine stain on our table. I’m just sad the food was below expectation for as beautiful as Max’s Bistro is inside. They need to really focus on the kitchen.
