While traveling thru the Fresno area, we found this establishment online and decided to check it out. Upon arrival, despite being alongside a shopping/outlet mall area, we were able to find great parking near the restaurant. What we like to call "rockstar" parking. Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted and seated. Although we didn't have a drink at the bar, it looked like a fabulous place to have a drink. Bar area was large. If not seated, it can be a challenge to walk thru the crowd gathered around the bar area. I also noticed that they took advantage of every opportunity to fit as many people possible into this establishment. Meaning some tables are ridiculously close, cramped, and looked very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we were seated. I'm one of those less than desirable areas. Even with a plethora of comfortable seating available. No worries, not being from CA, we understand there are certainly many undesirable areas than not. Our waiter/server was at our table shortly after being seated. He is what truly made our dining experience amazing. Our server (Blake) was unbelievably professional & knowledgeable regarding the menu. Despite being fairly busy, he never had a problem with providing top-notch service. Our glasses were never empty, and we wanted for nothing with the customer service he provided. One of our best experiences with customer service since being in CA as we have been here approximately 2 years on a work assignment throughout the state. My husband and I are self-proclaimed foodies who travel the country for the careers we have, which allows us to eat at some pretty amazing places. We try to order various menu items on initial visits to get a genuine taste of restaurants with great reviews. We started by ordering crispy fried calamari & Fried snapper bites. Each was served absolutely fresh and cooked to perfection! The sauces served with each were a compliment to how they each were prepared. A+++ Our main meal consisted of ordering the t-bone with lobster 🦞 tail & with my husband ordering off the specials menu. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name but it consisted of crab, scallops, mussels, lobster, shrimp and more! Both orders came out again cooked to perfection!!! Everything was cooked as we ordered & amazingly seasoned. Kudos to the 👨‍🍳 👩‍🍳 👏 Overall, great experience! We are looking forward to coming back. This time, I asked for "rockstar" seating. Nobody puts baby in the corner!

Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, top notch service. We got the salmon pumpkin special, shrimp pasta and the fall salad. We also got the pistachio crusted calamari appetizer and the ahi. The waitress was amazing. The area is phenomenal. There's something to do for everyone over there.

We had a very nice lunch. The portions are big, so my wife and I shared a clam chowder and a salad with bay shrimp, lobster meat and jumbo shrimp. We were so hungry that we didn't even get a chance to take a picture of it, but it was delicious. Since we shared we decided to have a lemon meringue cheesecake. So glad that things are getting back to normal in order to enjoy a nice lunch outing.

Pros: Excellent food, especially the seafood Great service, our server Abram was very attentive and knowledgeable Nice atmosphere, with a casual lodge-like feel Cons: The crab cake was a bit dry and overcooked We had a great meal at Pismo's Coastal Grill. The dozen raw oysters were fresh and briny, the sea bass was cooked perfectly, and the garlic fries were crispy and flavorful. The clam chowder was also delicious, and the poke tuna was a refreshing and light option. The only dish that we didn't enjoy was the crab cake. Overall, we had a very positive experience at Pismo's Coastal Grill. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the atmosphere was nice. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good seafood meal in Fresno.

Went here on a weeknight and was seated immediately. There was still a full house of guests in the restaurant with all seats taken at the bar. The drink I had was amazing and had a nice herbal taste to it with the mint leaf. Fried snapper bites had a hearty flavor. The tartar sauce has a hint of spice. The sirloin was more medium well even though we asked for just medium; however it was really tender and had a nice smokey flavor. Potatoes gratin and mashed very delicious. The pistachio crusted calamari is a must every time! Melts in your mouth and such an amazing taste. Scallops were cooked well with a nice sear. Artichokes and rice was decent. Overall the service was great and food was even better.

My dining experience at Pismo's Restaurant was truly delightful. I opted for the Alaska halibut accompanied by crispy fries and creamy potatoes au gratin, while my date savored the same dish with mashed potatoes, cauliflower, and a side of brussels sprouts. The food was exceptional; the halibut was fresh and perfectly cooked, and the sides were flavorful and satisfying. Despite the bustling atmosphere, the staff at Pismo's were incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring that every guest received prompt service. Their ability to manage a busy restaurant without compromising on quality is commendable. Overall, Pismo's Restaurant offers not only delicious cuisine but also a welcoming ambiance and top-notch service. It's definitely a place worth visiting again and recommending to friends and family.

It is like a nice vacation in the Florida keys. Great seafood options. The overall food was exquisite. Great drink options. The ambiance is beach shore meets Joes garage but way more elevated. They have a fish market in house. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and eager to educate. This place melted my heart. Can’t wait until my next visit.

I am not over stepping when I tell you that the food in Monterey CA while sitting on the pier over seeing the Pacific Ocean couldn't on its best day even shine a light to what this incredible restaurant is doing. Little bit loud but what the heck everyone is having fun. Hands down amazing...

I had heard great things about this restaurant. We had to make a reservation a week in advance to eat here. We were disappointed in the food. It could be that we lived in the New Orleans area for many years and are used to flavorful food. We got the blackened shrimp tacos, spicy fish sandwich, the stuffed cheese bread and my son got the fried fish, shrimp and chips. The blackened shrimp tacos- the tortillas were homemade so that was great, but they loaded it so full of slaw and other stuff that I could barely taste the shrimp. Not great. The spicy sandwich was just okay. The bread was soggy. The fried fish and shrimp was so covered with thick batter that it took away from the actual fish and shrimp. The garlic fries were okay but too stringy. The lemon cheesecake was good and the peanut butter pie was good. We probably won’t go back because we didn’t like the food. The service was great. Very attentive waitress. Overall it was an okay experience but the price was so high and the food wasn’t worth it.

One of the best restaurants I have been to this year, out-freaking-standing! Was packed when I went by myself for lunch, impressed by the server and manager, both were super nice and very professional. The crab cocktail appetizer was ridiculously delicious, big pieces of crab with serranos, micro-Cilantro and lemon garlic marinade, best appetizer of the year for me. Also tried the clam chowder sampler, which had Classic White, Spicy Red, and Rhode Island Clear, all were good but the white was the best I have had. The plain sourdough bread was also exceptional. Liked it so much I took my team there for lunch the same day. All 8 people raved about the food,I had the crab cakes which were good but not great. We ordered the crab cocktail appetizer x 2 for the group and they concur that it is the best. Coworker had the swordfish, which I wish I would have ordered. Manager remembered me from lunch and comped 2 orders of the sourdough bread with cheese, absolutely delicious. Don't hesitate, this place is a must visit, food is a 5+, service is also 5+.

Not a huge fan of this place. Although, I've never had a bad meal here the food is mediocre at best. Tonight we started with the steamed clams and for dinner I had swordfish and my wife had the Santa Marie steak with shrimp. I know this place has a lot of great reviews but there isn't much to compare it with in fresno...

Server was on top of it. Attentive. Food was satisfying. I got to taste a little bit of everything with my group. Clam chowder was YUM bought a quart to take home. Steak App was a hit. Fried Calamari was one of a kind, I kept raving how soft it was, I’m used to a more chewy texture. I had the shrimp and clam pasta, fair amount and savory! I personally didn’t try the pistachio calamari (my cousin ordered and finished it) . And the Iron Pot combo add linguine my husband enjoyed that meal. Thanks Pismos !

So we tried out this place for my mom's birthday. Started off with shrimp cocktail and some drinks. The mixed drinks had to be returned as they weren't sweet as ordered. Our waiter repaced them but we just got regular drinks. Oak lager was a nice draft beer. We got the steak and lobster. The steak was alot of fat but cooked as ordered. Lobster was delicious. The food was ok but didn't seem worth the price. Seafood was good but don't think I would order steak again. Waiter was professional and did a great job.

First visit today (a Sunday afternoon) for our wedding anniversary. Other than online reviews, it was a dice roll. Drove 45 miles. Thankfully, reviews were on point and we were not disappointed in the least. Restaurant was pretty busy but virtually no wait to be seated. Waiter (John) was a low key kind of dude - even keeled, no hype. Just helpful and informative when asked. We definitely appreciated his demeanor and service! So, on to the food… The menu has plenty of choices but not overwhelming. After a few answered questions and a little time to think, we ordered the grilled artichokes and white clam chowder for appetizers. Entrées were crabcakes with cilantro rice and sweet potato hash and Santa Maria steak with cilantro rice and the brussels sprouts in their house sauce. Artichokes had an excellent grilled flavor. Not greasy. The dip they serve them with is tasty also but not necessary because flavor was so good. Clam chowder was rich but not overly so and had a very generous amount of meat and serving size was plentiful. The Santa Maria steak is basically tri-tip but cooked perfectly. Ordered medium well and was so tender and flavorful, one might not even believe it’s tri-tip! So good! Crab cakes needed no sauce or anything additional. Delicious! Cilantro rice was filling and the perfect compliment to our entrees. Sweet potato hash is tasty and refreshingly different. Brussel sprouts are good - on the sweet side in an Asian style sauce. To boot, the coffee is excellent, along with the margarita. Thanks, John, for your help and service! We’ll be back!

The fried calamari was a little overcooked but other than that the food was great the staff was friendly and the service was fast, considering how busy it was with it being Christmas Eve. The music was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Our waitress Sandy was spectacular.

The sweet potato with green sauce, that sauce is godly. You have to get it. And the dip is good too. That green rice is also to die for. Everything green at this place is delicious apparently… but anyhow not bad not bad Pismo in the nismo. Your lobsters are tempting but you’re in the middle of no where so iono… it’s risky, but maybe next time

Pismo's is one of my favorite restaurants in Fresno and one of the best overall in my opinion. No complaints ever when I go there. I met the GM awhile back too, nice cat. You can tell the cooks care about how their food tastes. My Girl and I went twice in a 2-3 week span lol. On a Saturday for Lunch, then A Friday Night Date Night. I love this place! I recommend this place to everyone.

-Seafood Pasta This red sauce was everything!!! It made me love things I’ve never liked before. I’ve tried olive gardens scallops and I thought I hated scallops all together but nope! Here at Pismo’s everything was cooked beautifully I like scallops and calamari! -Pistachio Crusted Calamari Steak my boyfriend doesn’t like seafood at all yet he ordered this and as he describes it; with just a little squeeze of lemon on top it melts right in your mouth! so buttery and flavorful! yummm!! waiter was attentive and every customer service encountered was very respectful and pleasant.

The food was excellent 👌 I really enjoyed it, the service was only a 3 star. It could be that they just more servers but I'm not sure that is the reason but our server didn't check on us enough and also forgot to meet our request more than once.

A nice but not a great meal. Services was excellent. Calamari appetizer was standard. My partner had the special with a fried rice that was amazing - the reason I am giving 4 stars. My dish on the other hand had a burnt inedible artichoke, salty potatoes along side some nice scallops. Cocktails were very good.

Had a 9:00 p.m. reservation on a Saturday evening. Got in right on time and was seated at a nice table. It was very busy and yet service was prompt and extremely friendly. I had the baked Alaskan salmon which was outstanding. My steamed broccoli side was delicious and very fresh and the au gratin potato dish was the best I've ever had. Great atmosphere, wonderful service.

I've been told over and over to go to this place so my wife and finally tried it. So glad we did cause it was hands down THE BEST seafood in Fresno. Not only that the bartender knows what she's doing with the drinks, I ordered a Gibson Up with Gin and she knew exactly how to make it. To top it off our server, Erica, was absolutely the best. Recommended great food options and we couldn't have been happier with her service. If you're tightening the belt and want to go here you can definitely be satisfied spending $20-$25 a person, but for this visit we went all out and ended up spending $150. It was worth every penny. We started with a mug of clam chowder (white) and stuffed bread (highly recommend). I ordered the grilled swordfish with double potatoes au gratin w/bacon and crab topper (a must). The swordfish was a little overcooked but soaking it in the crab topper made it more juicy so that fixed the problem. My wife ordered the bacon cheeseburger w/fries and it was one of the best burgers we've tasted, especially for being a seafood place. We ordered a couple drinks, the Gibson Up and my personal favorite Vodka Sunset (mandarin vodka, OJ, sour mix, grenadine). We ended the night with dessert, the brownie w/ice cream and I got the lemon cheesecake. The ambiance also made this place great and the booths are big people friendly, that's also a huge plus for me as I don't like booths for that reason LOL we WILL be back for more!
