I will say the food was good but not extravagant to not only wait 1 hour and 30 minutes but to pay waaay over priced for four plates and 4 drinks.... I will NEVER eat here again, I'm sorry but the environment was not very neat stacked boxes, food items etc against each surrounding wall... it was a mess to look at but was encouraged to try after seeing them on television. Not a 5 star restaurant.

This food is fabulous and the people working there are super sweet and I saw products of all kinds that I have never seen before and I purchased a couple of things that were new to me and it was amazing and I will be going there again and over all my experience was extraordinary!

Great place to expand your horizons. Food was great. Rice is fairly spicy but good. Chicken was quite tasty but I had to ask for napkins because there weren't any provided and you need them because the chicken is messy. They were not very busy when I went at lunch time on a Tuesday. I'm pretty sure the waitress was the cook too. With rice being such a low budget food the meal was a little bit pricey. One thing I noticed was that the menu she gave me was laminated but needed to be cleaned. Overall it was a good experience.

I don’t even want to give this place one star. We walked in to ordered. Waited 40 minutes. expected to pay $17.99 for Fufu & egusi. Instead she charged us $24.99 and never undated her menu. Overall it was just bad first experience and I will not being ordering again.

Tried another new place! I love trying food from different countries, cultures and different cuisine! This restaurant has been on my radar for a while. I ordered online which was very simple, and was met very kindly when I arrived 😊 I ordered: (copy and pasted from my online order) TRIUMPH CHEF'S SPECIAL: 13. Pounded Yam Choice of Soup:: Egusi Soup; Make it With:: Chicken And RICE ENTREES: 2. Jollof Rice (Spiced) Make it With:: Chicken And whew! Its spicy and very flavorful! I didn't know what to expect as this is the first time eating Traditional African food, and its delicious! The spice is no joke, I grew up in a Mexican household, with roasted habanero salsa smoking out the house, and this food put my taste buds to the test! The pounded yam has a unique texture and flavor, it reminds me of masa used for tamales but softer and has a really light almost potato like taste. It definitely helps ease the spice! I've never eaten a single thing my dishes were made with other than rice and chicken! And I can happily say I'd eat it all again! Thank you for a great experience!! 😊

Payed $27 for a very small bowl with two whole chicken drumsticks thrown on top of about 4 tablespoons of juice that did not taste good and only one ball of dough it was not fresh we heard the lady heat it up in a microwave in the back and we ate it in a small hot store (its not a restaurant)that had no ac.Was basically some tables next to shelves of hair products and grocery items.Had to pay cashapp as we were told no cash or cards allowed.Overall bad experience we took a few bites and threw the rest away.I do not recommend and will not be going back.

Courteous host and large portions. Rice bowls can probably be eaten over a few days or be shared between 2 people. I ordered the joloff rice with goat, rice and beans with chicken, and a meat pie. The joloff rice has deep tomato herb flavors and was nicely paired with 3 savory goat pieces. Rice and beans has a nice savory flavor and was served with two braised chicken legs. The chicken was braised in a thick sauce that had onions in it. The meat pie is definitely something to try. Meat pie has ground beef and shredded carrots. One reviewer commented that they're a bit pricey. However, If you account for the labor and ingredients used to make these dishes then, I would say the prices are fair. The jollof rice and goat is deeply seasoned, so I can imagine they used a lot of spices and herbs. Overall eating experience was great. One thing, I would suggest is braising the goat skin longer. The goat skin was too rubbery and had to throw it out. I give this place 5 stars and would come back again when visiting Fresno area.

Paid $27 for two very hard and overdone pieces of chicken drumsticks and the Fufu was awful. Do not recommend at all. Seasonings we’re ok. I ordered peppered black chicken. Spice was nice. But overall this place was definitely garbage and way over priced. If you’re ever in LA go to Veronica’s kitchen. Or look up other places. Avoid this one.

Tried various foods from all over was excited to taste this food however was sadly disappointed on the flavor of purchase items. The soup needed more flavor meat in the soup was tough. Had the chicken and rice; the chicken tasted old.

The picture below is the chicken Egusi with Fufu. I had never eaten fufu before, and wanted to taste it because it is trending on social media. The fufu is fluffy, and has the texture of dumplings and a very mild taste BUT when mixed with the stew broth, is absolutely delicious! I have eaten at this restaurant on five occasions now and plan to return many more times. My favorite meal is the chicken egusi but the spicey jolof rice with goat, plantain, and collards is a close second. Their food is always delicious, however I strongly recommend ordering your food for takeout because the restaurant is still operating under covid restriction.

Tiktok's famous fufu/egusi. My sister and I were surprised to find it in Fresno, and it was delicious! It's a definitely must to try.

False advertisement and expensive. My friend and I placed two orders for jollof rice. I got a non-alcoholic bottled beverage to go with mine. The plates were listed as $17.99-$19.99 depending on the meat you get. Since I was treating, I was expecting to pay a total of about $45. When it came time to pay, the waitress pointed at our plates saying it was $26 and $26. WHAT?!!!!! If prices changed, I wish she would have told us in the beginning rather than surprised us. I handed her $60 cash (they don't take cards) and received exactly $2 in change. I'm not sure if she kept the coin change or if our food and drink came out to be exactly $58. She didn't give me a receipt either. I can see why the restaurant was so empty. We spent two hours there and we were the only customers dining there besides another customer who came in to pick up an order. The price and taste are not worth $26 a plate! It was okay and the portion size is standard. I don't know how this restaurant is 3.5 on Yelp and 4.4 on Google or why people are leaving such good reviews. Maybe they're leaving sympathy reviews? I don't care if this is a black-owned business or not. False advertisement is false advertisement and not giving your customers a heads up about price change is not okay! I was led to believe something and then charged ~$10 more! Needless to say, I will not be returning here.

This place is great. You can tell they really take their time here and put some love into this food! Everything from the jollof rice to the meat pies was amazing. I think the empanada I had here was honestly one of the best ones I've ever had in my life. Service was incredible, felt very homey and comfortable inside. The whole experience here itself was wonderful and we will be returning customers for life!

Went here for the first time and it wasn’t good at all. The food was extremely bland with no flavor and the chicken was tuff as if it was old. The portions were very small I got the egusi with fufu and for $27 it wasn’t worth it. The lady that took my order had an attitude. I also purchased a Fanta bottle that was $4 and apparently you have to ask for napkins because they won’t be provided when you eat there which doesn’t make sense if you have to eat with your hands. Definitely won’t be coming back

Every time I come here I get Chicken w/ Egusi soup and 2 pounded yams for $32 and every time it gives what it is supposed to be given . Marcilina usually greets me w/ great customer service and conversation and the food is always served hot and tasteful w/ enough for me to have a bite for later. The food is a bit pricey but as you see I keep going back lol. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to try African food for the first time because my first, second and third time here were all a great experience. Thank you so much for the experience Marcilina xo

It was my first time here and I am very aware of this cuisine. Overpriced? Yes, but it is a rare find and you won’t get anything similar within 100 miles so understand if you are willing to pay for great flavors. Now, the quality of the food was amazing! I got fufu and egusi and a Jollof rice bowl with spinach, fish and it was all so delicious! Food detailed with flavor, meat was cooked perfectly and had spicy flavors I requested, fufu was hot and easy to eat with, veggies were perfectly cooked and each bowl was juicy! Yes, portions appear small in plastic… but eat before you judge because pouring that same amount on a plate will fill it up!! My husband, kids and I were full with two plates that “appeared small” but very filling. Non greasy! We all felt great after eating. Not to mention, the hostess was so kind. Let us move the fan to keep cool and kept checking on us. This is a store/ family owned style restaurant with authentic flavors and I appreciate that vibe. If you are giving bad reviews over the location and scenior understand this is a small owned business with great food, hospitality, and prices that are aligned with current economy standards. Thank you for your services, looking forward to coming back! 😋
