My boyfriend and I went here because we were vacationing and had to cancel our original plans. We really enjoyed the zoo! We went in Sep 2021 on a weekday so there was barely a crowd but the place wasn't empty. We got the Total Zoo Experience. Feeding the sting rays was a unique experience - I could do it all day if it wasn't so expensive ($2 for two half a fish). But I would keep fishing the sting rays haha. I would say feeding the giraffe could be skipped. We didn't care about the Zoorassic Park. We spent the entire day at the zoo and was able to experience everything - but if you don't have time, you can come back to use the experiences another day. I believe there is an expiration date. We recommend the Keeper Chat as we had a fun experience with the lions and a personal chat at the cheetahs (no one else was showed up for the chat). The Sea Lion show is also highly recommended! The enclosures seem well taken care of and spacious. We loved that we were able to spot most, if not all, the animals since they were out and about! We ended up staying to eat at the zoo restaurant so we didn't waste time finding food outside the zoo. Being from the Bay Area, the food price, taste, and portion were good.

The occasions I did visit, granted few and spaced far apart, brought enough insight to the neat and exotic world of the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, home to many species of exotic animals and varying species of wildlife from all across the globe. It is very educational and an exciting experience to get to be a part of when I do get the chance to visit. Some of the cared for animals are even in danger of going extinct, shedding some light and reality at the thought of seeing a creature who's species may not have long to live. The food here is a bit pricey, but it's really nothing considering some of it goes back into helping the animals.

We love this zoo! The exhibits/enclosures have been updated and are well kept. The food in the African exhibit is really good - we love to go there sometimes, just for lunch. Masks were only required inside the Reptile House - December 2021. My family is excited for the new Asian exhibit opening. It looks amazing!

It’s a great little zoo! The improvements they are making are wonderful. They updated the dinosaur part which is awesome now! The little water play area was neat but I’m sure gets over crowded when busy. Overall a fun place to spend a few hours and the food is good too.

Lots of improvements have been made and there is construction currently for more amazing things to come. We went on a class trip, first one since the pandemic began. Visited on a Monday morning and it was perfect, no lines to go in, no waiting for exhibits. Definitely recommend grabbing lunch by the safari since the food is being freshly prepared and the prices are reasonable.

Great place to spend the day at! Reasonable prices and I’m excited for the new Asia exhibit coming soon. The safari exhibit hands down rivals some parts in San Diego zoo, this place is one of the best things in Fresno. Please come here and support what they do! Measure Z is worth it!

One of the best zoos I've been to. Just the right size, clean, everything worked, staff was friendly, restrooms were clean, food and souvenirs weren't too expensive but most of all every exhibit that was open (a few were closed for renovations) was well organized and the animals looked healthy. We saw more animals close up than I've ever seen at even the San Diego zoo! Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! And let's not forget the stingray petting/feeding and giraffe feeding. I highly recommend this zoo for a family day trip. Totally worth the time and cost.

This was a fun visit! In the two hours I spent there, it was easy to see the hard work everyone was doing. Friendly admission staff. Affordable pricing. Excellent dual language signage to learn about the animals on display. New exhibits this year, and more on the way.

Perfect for families and children! This zoo stands out with its newest renovations like it’s Kingdoms of Asia! It seemed like a Disney adventure through Indiana Jones! Kids loved it! Seems like they are constructing other great areas with some areas closed down or shut off. Big positive was the many shaded areas and places to eat. They had a wonderful large shaded area to have lunch and look at the large Savannah animals of Africa! Tickets were easy at the kiosk but be aware that parking is smattered and the later you arrive the further the walk to front entrance. Realize that general admission ticket does not include the sting ray exhibit and butterfly exhibit.

Fresno Chaffee Zoo was pretty fun! The kids really loved it. It was clean and had a lot of cool animals that the kids really enjoyed seeing. They especially loved getting the opportunity to feed the giraffes and going through the Zoorassic Park. Pricing was also reasonable and we purchased the full experience pass, a total of 4 adults and 2 children and it wasn’t still a good price. We visited the zoo on a Friday, and we didn’t wait in line long at all. Getting tickets was smooth and quick. I look forward to bringing the family here again, they loved it!

Loved the zoo but getting in was kinda ridiculous. We bought a membership and there was only about 3 families in front of us yet it took almost an hour. When we got to the window it took us about 3 minutes to activate our membership. Not sure what took the rest of the first groups so long. The zoo itself was quite nice, while a little small. The exhibits were well placed with a lot of areas to view the animals. Would have been 4 stars if we didn't have such a bad experience just getting in.

Fresno City Zoo is one of the best in the state of California, Los Angeles Zoo is #1, San Diego Zoo is #2, Fresno City Zoo is #3 , being the top three is not bad, I've have fond memories working there when I was 15 1/2 feeding the Sea Lions. If you're coming to Fresno for the first time definitely make plan to see the zoo you'll be glad you did. Check out the pictures that I attached look all the happy faces there. Enjoy and after the zoo check out Yosemite. 😎👍🌄💯

I was pleasantly surprised on how nice the zoo is for being in Fresno. Once they finish the new are at the end of May 2023 it will be even better. We went on a Monday so was very empty, which was nice. It did get hot but there is a decent amount of shade around the park except for the Africa side of the park. Lots of cool animals and exhibits I did not get photos of. The Africa exhibit is pretty incredible and woth the food court right there with a bunch of different options of freshly made food as well as beer/wine options, all set with outdoor seating with an incredible view of the open Africa exhibit; it was pretty amazing. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area or visiting. No complaints here. Great for kids and adults.

Wonderful Zoo! The animal exhibits are mostly very natural, not just a cage. Very clean and nicely laid out.

Loved the animal habitat. The animals looked well taken care of. They had variety of animals and they are renovating to add Asian jungle section which I am looking forward to. The dinosaur 🦕 section is fun as they look life like with sound and movements. I would recommend visiting this zoo and enjoying your day with family.

Coming from a person that has a annual pass with San Diego ZOO, this place is worth visiting for a few hours. The animals look healthy and content given their location. Many of these animals have large roaming areas to graze or even run around. I'd say the rhinos are the main attraction of this zoo.

Have been here several times and I am happy to see all the improvements they are making. Habitats are much more natural. Less looking through bars. They just expanded their entire Asia section and it's really cool! A few areas are still under construction. It's awesome you can interact with some of the animals. You can walk through the kangaroo pen now. You can feed giraffes, pet and feed stingrays. My only complaint is that both of these activities cost extra. They added a butterfly garden which looks lovely, but this too costs extra. If you don't want to pay more than the entry fee you can still have a lovely time, but just be prepared to dish out some extra cash if feeding the animals is something you really want to do. I fed the giraffes once and it was a really cool experience. Also there is an extra fee of $5 or so for parking for the day. Overall, it's worth a visit.

We love the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. This little zoo has grown and grown, adding wonderful exhibits and valuable family entertainment. We went to see the new exhibit Kingdoms of Asia. This is absolutely worth the visit. The new tiger habitats are large and the animals have space to roam around. The viewing areas are easy to use, wheelchair accessible and roomy. There are more new exhibits coming... I can't wait to see what they do next.

Visiting Fresno Chaffee Zoo was an amazing experience! Every exhibit was captivating, the staff was friendly, and the size was just right. The admission prices were unbeatable, making it accessible for everyone. The Kingdom of Asia was breathtaking, and the African Adventure with the rhinos felt like a journey to Africa. My kids absolutely loved it - it was truly an unforgettable visit!

It’s a zoo what i can I say. Small city zoo. Has few activities which kids loved was feeding the giraffe. Kids were very excited to see the dinosaurs. It would be nicer if it was more motion activated. But still we had a blast. There is story land next door for rides which is closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Great place for what it was!! Nice exhibits, various attractions (stingray bay, petting zoo, feed giraffes, etc) and food prices were reasonable at the cafe. First time taking the kids; had a season pass for kids and I. A lot bigger than what it looks like on the outside. We all enjoyed our time. We have yet to feed the giraffes and finish the African Adventure (which was pretty impressive). Will definitely be back!!

Loved it! We visited on a Friday with our Family of 4, crowd was nice everyone moving smoothly and never got crowded, the price is great and affordable for everyone, you can bring food drinks and snacks with some restrictions, there’s add on experiences like feeding the giraffes, life size Dinosaurs, and more, snacks and food at a good price. Will definitely be back once they finish building their newest attraction.

We loved the Zoo very clean and well kept. There is a lot of areas for little ones to play and the bird show was fun yet short. If its too cold some animals will not be in display. It took us three hours to walk around and see everything. Very kid friendly and awesome for them to see very different animals close by.

Flat out great zoo, and should be for a city this size. The Sea Lion Cove is an award winning presentation. I'm sure the African Savannah will also win some kind of zoo awards too. The African Savannah cabana food court is incredible. Great spot to rest up. The LIVE bird show everyday, is over the top great. Maybe my fave. The walk through bird cages are as good as any zoo in CA. You can spend the better part of a day here. Also, if you like taking photos of flying birds, the park pond outside the zoo is the best action around. Many different varieties.

This zoo is so big, so you get a lot of exercise. Wear tennis shoes. So much interaction for the kids even Durning a pandemic! They have sanitizing stations everywhere and they have signs to remind you to wear masks. They take precautions to make sure people are six feet apart. Right now in the month of September through December they're going to have a dinosaur exhibition after those months it will be removed it really is cool and Worth to see there's even some dinosaurs that spray you with water. There is a food court you can relax and eat your food and there's a separate part to the food court where you could take your children and give them a bottle or help them nap or breastfeed your children. The bathroom seemed pretty clean it looks like they tend to them regularly. All the animals seem to be out and enjoying the warm weather they have misters for them or little waterfalls or some sort of water interaction so that they stay cool. You could feed the stingrays feed the giraffes for a couple of dollars per person. Right now you can not feed or pet the goats and sheep because of the covid 19. There is a play area that's currently closed for kids that is a water park the only thing available on it is the shower heads that you can use to cool down. The ice cream cones are only a dollar and they fill them up and put them also in a cup so it's basically like ice cream for two people for only $1. the sea lions are very active and I would suggest going underneath where the little cave area is so you can see them swimming underwater it's a great picture opportunity. They have little stands where you can pose for pictures everywhere! The family pass sis worth the money if you go frequently. If you love animals there's definitely lots to look at and they're very interactive. I personally had a nice experience with a macaw in the rainforest area if you say hello to him he will say hello back or if you dance and tell him to dance with you he'll dance back.

Nice place to spend the day with the kids. Wasn't happy when we had to pay 4$ per person to touch the stingrays and sharks, it should be included in the entry ticket. The staff was very helpful and pleasant giving kids tours and sharing knowledge. The sea lion exhibit was awesome. There was renovation going on so it was a bit confusing to navigate and we nearly missed the African safari area. Didn't get to see the lions and giraffes sadly.

My husband and I loved this zoo! It far exceeded our expectations! Can't wait to go back when the new Asia exhibit opens next year. If we lived closer, we would definitely go often. BTW - Get the extra "Experience" ticket to see Jurassic Park, feed a giraffe, and pet the stingrays and sharks. Yes, I can't believe I petted a shark!!! Fantastic adventures at the Chaffer Zoo in Fresno!!!

Really proud of our local zoo, it definitely has to be one up there with the big city Zoo’s and in my personal opinion better then both Sac and the LA Zoo’s. They are properly using the funds proposed in the Prop Z tax measure, making me extremely happy, which has been continuously improving our zoo in recent years.

Awesome ZOO! Not too busy where it gets overwhelming, playground/zoo grounds were clean, parking was close by, cool exhibits. We fed the giraffes and touched string rays (my 7 year old son, loved it)!. The light up animals were pretty awesome too!

I take my boys an average once a month here. We live an hour away but this place is always amazing I have never had a bad experience here. They do amazing holiday themed events my absolute favorite themed event was for Christmas. I have never seen a zoo go above and beyond for their patrons. The Christmas lights were stunning they had to put at least a week or more putting everything up, they had a free picture with Santa they also had hot chocolate with some yummy fireball for adults and extra activities for the kids. Even on none holiday events they do wonders. This place is always clean no trash anywhere their bathrooms are always clean and smell good. Their workers are always super nice. Just have zero complaints and that's rare for me. I will continue to have a membership to this zoo! It also beats the San Francisco zoo and that's hard for any zoo to do..

I went to see the zoo lights and it was very beautiful. There was a lot to see and some animals were out, such as the flamingo, red lemurs, and stingrays (which you can touch for free). I’m not sure for the butterfly exhibit since I wasn’t able to pass by there. They had one or two shops open, also the cafe. Overall, the walk is 2-3 hours but I’d say it’s worth because there is so much to see and lots of pictures to take with the lights.

We have visited the Fresno. Chaffee Zoo a couple times. It is a nice Zoo. We enjoyed watching the seals swim the most! They were going through construction when we visited last to add more animal exhibits. The price is affordable. I recommend going at least once for the experience!

Illumindature was wonderful! I dont believe you have to pay for parking after 5pm which was great (I was fine at least for the 2 hours I was there) and the reptile room was still open. Even the stingray exhibit was open and they weren't charging for that either. A lot of the animals aren't out because it's nighttime I'm guessing? But overall it was an excellent experience 🥰

Illuminature was a lighting experience similar to the holiday season. Some of the displays were from the holiday season due to the Christmas theme. Very clean environment and has lots of staffing present.

Went to the illuminature, and it was absolutely breathtaking! The zoo was lit up with all different types of animals, and the music that played definitely made you feel the holiday spirit. They had hot coco, smo're kits, and delicious foods. We went on a Wednesday night, and the zoo was PACKED, so this event is very popular. It's a great family event for all ages. Just make sure to dress REALLY warm. It got very cold. Also, parking was a nightmare. Get there early to get a good spot.

This zoo is soooo fun!!! $20/per non-Fresno resident adult. It’s not as big as the better known ones (LA, SD, SF, OAK), but I thought it was an excellent value for the money still for all the hours you can spend in here + their unique exhibits! You can pay for parking by using an app or using a machine they have by the lot. 🛑One big criticism in case the zoo sees this before I ramble positively: these are the most boring animal information cards ever! I recommend getting an intern do so some serious googling for real fun facts about each animal. I was trying to take notes but it was hard cause I didn’t want to write any of it down lol! Some just have the name and picture of the animal and that’s it…🛑 🐘🦏🦌🐃 Their African Sahara/watering hole exhibit was the coolest. A bunch of cool animals all together!! And there’s a big outdoor cafeteria area too so you could enjoy the view while resting if you want. Their rhino is like a cute puppy, loves playing with huge branches and prancing around :) there are 2 ostriches that like following each other around. A lonely wildebeest but a bunch of antelopes. Would be cool to see zebras. There are 3 elephants, and I think one of them is an African buck that is one of the largest in NA at 13,000 pounds! I think I read a sign for an upcoming similar multi-species spot for malaysia(?). 🦁 I’ve never been so close to a lion before! It got up and I got to see it spray pee out the fence lol. It had all this space but chose to be close to the fence with people, the lioness was more shy. 🐅 There was a tiger, but it looked really skinny. It did lots of tricks for the trainer but we thought it barely got any treats. When they finished, it looked pretty upset. That one was kind of depressing, but I’m sure the zoo has its reasons. 🐒🦧 The monkeys are great fun to look at, especially the small black siamangs. There were two moms each with a baby! Super cute. The orangutans nearby were wrapping themselves with rugs from the cold. The other moneys like the lemurs and colobus were huddled at the heat lamps. Kind of sad, maybe more lamps please! 🦘🦘The second cool exhibit was the Australian one! Wow! You can walk through this path with the animals barely separated by a wood railing they could easily pass if they want. I feel like… this one really needs to be supervised well or restricted to a certain age cause I can see it going poorly with bad attendees lol but it was truly the coolest. The emu loved attention. There are a few small roos and other animals. I just love these fun spots where safe animals have more space altogether. 🦜🦤🪿🦆 There was a smaller aviary and a larger rainforest aviary. They were both very nice but mostly empty due to the winter weather. Rainforest one in particular is mostly blocked off for many routes. Still excellent. 🦩There is a penny machine by the flamingos for fellow collectors! Other honorable mentions, 2 cheetahs, warthogs, giraffes (pay $5 extra at ticket window), seals. PLUS, I was really impressed with their little display statues. You know these zoos and their weird light display things, I felt like the ones here were not eyesores. They looked less transparent and well designed.

Awesome experience! The zoo was clean. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The exhibits were not only educational but fun. Most importantly, the animals look healthy and have adequate room, water, shade, misters, and fans. This is very important in this valley heat. My 6 y/o had a blast.

I love going to the zoo but today it was me and my sister , now is in a electric chair ,some of the rail are at the eye sight were it was hard to see. That is not all you had to go through the picnic area after the giraffes and that was hard to do. I think you need to have someone take a trip around the zoo in a chair. By the way she has MD so its a little hard to get around. And just a little note you need to swipe the walk way around the seals it was pretty slipper and I was wearing shoes not saddles. Thanks had a great time.

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is one of the best zoo's I've ever visited! I'm from San Diego so I've been to their zoo and Safari Park numerous times, and they're both really cool. But considering the new design of the Chaffee Zoo, their animals, the amenities, and just how cool the zoo is, it's really hard to beat! It gets hot in the summer and they even have a splash park for the kids. They've really thought of everything. My family goes all the time...keep up the good work!

All of my family including little ones enjoyed this place. The aquarium is nicely presented for children and they have small indoor playground for kids under 5. Only one downside was the food. It was just okay. Pizza, sandwiches, and salads were not so great but eatable. Recommend any one with little kids as well as big one.

My family loves the local zoo. It's not as big as sa San Diego Wild Animal park, but you can feed the giraffes and stingrays! It's usually not overly crowded and its completely possible to see the entire pack, shows included, in a single day. My favorite time of year to go is actually December. They have an event called Zoolights. The entire park is decked out in Christmas lights, Santa Claus is available for secret sharing and picture taking and there is even FREE hot chocolate handed out during the event! Dont forget to stop by their food shack for some of the best soft pretzels around. All and all, we love Fresno Chaffee Zoo!

This review in not about the zoo itself..more about the the security director and hiring staff. I Applied to a "Zoo Ranger" position which is basically a security guard position. Now I have over 10 years experience good record blah blah blah. Anyways I get to the interview and 5 people interview me. I noticed the security director didn't seem to like me right off the bat. He stated "We hire students". I'm in my late 30's and not currently a student which was not a requirement listed in the open hiring postion posted. This guy and about 3 of the other people conduting this interview acted like they didn't want to be there like a bunch of bored high school students in detention. Anyways about 10 months after this interview someone stole some exotic birds from this zoo. Well looks like your hotshot students couldn't even prevent that. Karma is satisfying lol. I do recommend this zoo though nice on the inside but they need to Revitalize the outside area. Dull and the area on Belmont need improvement. Good zoo overall.

Garbage everywhere. During the summer homeless sleep in the park. Fresno County doesn't clean the park very well.

We had a lovely experience to see the zoolights during the Thanksgiving weekend. I did hear the zoo closed down due to covid. We loved our visit but was expecting to see more areas open like I've visited in the past and they use to hand out tickets at the entrance for free hot chocolate and cookies in the past. So there was less to see and no tickets for free hot chocolate and cookies. I did purchase from s'mores bar and purchased a hot chocolate. Delicious

Been almost 10 years since I went to tge zoo and got see all the brand new things they had which were nice! One thing i didnt like was that i saw alot of people not wearing masks and the zoo employees not doing nothing to inforce the rules! Also didnt like how some attractions were closed due to covid and they were still chargin full price! Looking forward to the new attractions in 2021 but wont go untill covid is over with not worth my life!!!

Great zoo! Not too big but you can definitely spend a few hours here. Some exhibits are really pretty and large.

  • 4/5 GG G. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful and well maintained zoo. Lots of space between exhibits to space yourself away from other families. Several outdoor dinning options, hand sanitizer station easliy available and clean restrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful for the most part. We did have a very negative experience at the giraffe feeding. The giraffes themselves where awsome. You can get up close to see them. Where it went wrong was the very rude and unhelpful paid staff. They clearly need more training in customer service. It was not organized and no signs to where you should stand or park your stroller. The hand sanitation was placed after the lettuce pick up area so you had to walk to that point then go back to pick up the lettuce. The staff was barking out orders. A few signs and proper placement of items would have made it easier on everyone. At one point we were the only ones in the pavilion so it was not like the staff had a lot to do. It just needs to be better organized so you know what to do. Otherwise the feeding of the giraffes was interesting. The volunteer staff was great. They specifically explained what we should do and told us about the animals. Overall the zoo was really fun and a great place to spend the day.

Really really great experience. Could use a little bit more funding due to lack of space for the animals. I honestly think zoos should be huge and big so the animals have more space to run around and exercise. It seems like they were more occupied on building structures for people and customers instead of the animals. There's a crapload of parking spaces that could be modified or turned into more animal exhibits.

They let way to many people inside sure everyone had a mask but it was crowded and the petting zoo was not open and you had to wait in line to get in and wait in line to feed the giraffe wait in line to eat way over priced food . I left after 1 hour being there .

Nice friendly neighborhood zoo. Not overly huge as to take forever to get through. I have noticed the employees are very attentive to the well being of the animals. A quote from Ghandi," you can tell the moral turpitude of a nation by the way they treat their animals". The Fresno Zoo is definitely on my "Nice" zoo lost. The food court was clean and fast and comfortable, and affordable. Oh and we went when the light shows were on for Xmas. So just go already you will have a great time.

Download parking app so you don’t waste time in line paying at the kiosk. If you arrive before 9:30am finding parking is great otherwise it gets pretty full quickly. We paid $54 for entrance that’s 3 adults and 1 child, if you want to feed the giraffe, touch sting rays or enter the Dino zoorasic exhibit it’s extra unless you pay before entering. —scan code when paying at entrance for park map! We had an awesome experience, since we were there at 9am on a Tuesday - we got to see everything with no wait time. During the week schools are there on field trips so like I mentioned after 10am it’s busy! If you have Little ones bring extra clothes cause there’s a play area with water fall and volcano water area, which is awesome! Clean restrooms I advise bringing own snacks and drinks have a picnic after, food is okay a bit pricey and not so good.

Fantastic zoo experience! I honestly loved going out to the Fresno Zoo. This was the first time going in about 15 years and it did not disappoint, one thing that stood out overall was that they seemed to have been building a new exhibit called Asia Gardens. During the construction the treat it as it's own "exhibit" as if the vehicles and whatnot are all apart of the zoo itself. Their Zoorastic Park attraction is a must-go if you have any kids or are an adult who loves dinosaurs.

  • 5/5 John H. 1 year ago on Google
An excellent zoo! We have loved this Zoo as a family for over twenty years. It has developed quite a lot in that time. The African exhibit is great. There is a lot of construction right now for the upcoming Asia exhibit. That will be incredible when it is finished. There is a very good dinosaur part with mechatronic models. It costs extra, but my five-year old loves it. Go early in the day. Not only is it not so hot, but the animals are more active.

Me and my friends decided to go to the zoo and even though none of us are little kids, we all still had so much fun! There were all sorts of animals and it felt like we were in Lion King. We didn't have to wait very much and it wasn't too crowded which gave us more time to enjoy ourselves and more opportunities to feed the Giraffes and pet the Sting Rays. I recommend this zoo to groups of every age! The people here are so nice and the animals are so cool.

In regards of the Zoo Boo night. Well it definitely has plenty of room for improvements. Fun atmosphere for the kids. But definitely lacking on events inside for the kids. Yes some games and little activities, but long lines and overcrowded. Definitely needs more candy stops for the kids. More crafts and games for them as well. Our family of 9 went and was hard pressed to find seats to sit down and eat. Plus the mostly all the animals were already sleeping or put away. This event needs work to better serve the needs of the community in whole. Walking out of the park, no security or people helping with parking knowing it's pitch dark outside. As I stated before this event definitely needs some improvement. Hopefully next year it'll happen.

I've been here a handful of times but EVERY time I go I can't help but enjoy myself with the exhibits they have and all the animals. I love that they're a rehabilitation zoo and have breeding programs to help the endangered species. Although they are expanding the exhibits and had a bunch of construction this time the family and I still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, especially with the giraffe feeding and sea lion cove. Side note, the food is really good and affordable!! Get a souvenir cup, it's worth it!

The zoo is a great place to visit. The measure Z money has made this place amazing. Go see the tigers the enclosure is huge and it’s so great to see these animals have room to roam. The Asian animals area is beautiful and the art was selected with input from the local south East Asian community.

Wow! This is truly a great zoo. I wasn't expecting much from a zoo in Fresno, but I was really blown away. Not only is there a wide variety of animals here, but also the park is very well maintained. The aquatic animals really stole the show. Overall I would definitely consider coming back once the new exhibit opens up which looks like it'll be a great addition to the park.

I love the Chaffee Zoo. Ever since they added the African exhibits and the sea lion cove, the zoo has been on an upward trajectory. My kids love checking out the animals and feeding the giraffes. I'm really looking forward to the opening of the zoo's Asia exhibit which will bring in many more animals. Best value if you love the zoo, get the season pass, it pays for itself very quickly.

Love the Fresno Chaffee Zoo! I have been to the San Diego zoo, and I xan honestly say this zoo is by far the best out of the two. The Kingdoms of Asia is now opened, and it's amazing. I will be getting a year membership soon and hopefully visit more than once a year.

What a wonderful experience going to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. This was the first time visiting with our 18-month-old. He enjoyed feeding a giraffe with his dad while mom snapped photos. We always love feeding the stingrays, but our son is just a tad too small to get his hand underneath them to feed. We loved the food, and ticket prices are reasonable. We will be coming back again soon.

Nice zoo, animals seem happy and have great environments, but very disappointed in the 2pm close. We had a 1.5 hr drive never guessing hours had been changed. Summer hours? Dumb excuse since the animals are still there, and so is staff.

The Fresno chaffee zoo has changed much over the decades. There are currently many construction and renovation projects going on giving you plenty of reason to come back every year. The Africa exhibit is amazing and if you visit on a hot day stop by the reptile house for a cool and quiet experience.

The entrance to the park is still really reasonable. Parking is now done via a kiosk or an app vs handing someone money. Which I liked but what ever. The deduction in stars is for the cost to enter the Sting Ray bay even if I’m not putting my hand in. $5 per person plus $3 for food but that’s only if they can be feed at that time. Or the cost to enter a tent with some butterfly’s (which use to be free inside the bird habitat) at $5. Or the horrific food an the cost. I have no issue paying money for food food that’s good. They would make a whole lot more if they had a coffee shop right at the entrance. They even upped the price to feed the giraffe from $3 to $6. An you get less. The new parts of the park are nice but the whole entrance an exit aspect one way type deal makes navigating annoying. Staff as always are nice. Parking is plenty depending time an day. They are doing a lot of work. Happy to see the zoo grow an change an become a permanent staple in Fresno. I’d like to see better party packages especially for winter bdays and better food options.

There are lots of animals to view at this large zoo. You can pay an extra small fee to touch stingrays and feed the giraffes. You can be really near kangaroos and emu. They just ask not to touch or feed them. You need a minimum of 4 hours to get through almost everything without rushing. There are multiple areas to take pictures. I went when they were setting up illumniNature so there were extra props to take pictures with. There are some vending machines, some food establishments and a souvenir shop. I did not get to eat there, but one of the food establishments had a beautiful view near the elephants. Restrooms are at the entrance once you pay to enter. For toddler parents: There is a large park near the zoo but no nearby restrooms, and when I asked to quickly use one nearby the zoo. The admission employee said no one could enter until we paid for our admission, even though family members were already at the register paying. The restrooms by the entrance are not very clean, but supplies are well stocked. One stall even had poop smeared all over the floor, and one of the soap dispensers was broken. The restroom in Kingdoms of Asia area is just one toilet, so it may be a wait, but it is very clean and well stocked.

Always a good experience! The new exhibits that opened this year are awesome! The staff is very friendly. Wish they could do something about people taunting the animals, but tbh I'm not sure what could be done. Sometimes, people just suck.

  • 5/5 Julezz 4 months ago on Google
I recommend buying tickets online, so there is just a short wait, instead of waiting in line. There is plenty of parking but it's always full so you might have to park further away and even walk through the dirt. The zoo is finally done with construction work and it looks beautiful. Illuminature is a special event and it is definitely a magical experience ✨️ I definitely recommend to visit fresno chaffee zoo👌
