This place is a really cool semi hidden gem in Fresno. It's only $6 per person kids 2 and under are free. There is definitely quite a bit to do for toddlers, I took my niece who is 2.5 and we spent the whole 3 hours there having fun. They have an indoor play area filled with fun learning games, books, toys. They have a play ground (definitely could use some repairs and upgrades), but still the kids love it. There is a turtle and coy fish pond, a bunny and even a tortoise out back. My favorite though was the Cactus garden and the Garden of the Sun (which is technically not a part of the discovery center, but is accessible through the discovery center). The cactus garden has huge cacti, really amazing! The garden of the sun is just gorgeous, tip go early in the morning for a better chance of it being open. The discovery center also has a cool science room, with magnets and other cool attractions. There is no parking lot, only street parking. Definitely recommend taking the little ones for a play date here. They also have tot time, they read books and my niece got to pet a toad.

My kids love Coming here. The staff is friendly. They have a good amount of stations to keep the kids busy for a few hours. My kids love feeding the fish. The front desk personnel provides it and it’s free. The only negative comment is that the place is in desperate need of some housekeeping. The floors are... disgusting. There is dust everywhere. Some days they don’t even have soap in the restrooms. I’ll be honest, I hesitate bringing my kids here but they truly have such a great time. I hope management reads this review and considers cleaning the place.

Variety of exhibits - nature, science, physics. Good mix of outdoor and indoor. Kids in my group ages 3-8 all had good time for 2.5 hours, and we could stay there longer. Suitable for older kids too. Things to improve - 1. More guidance/structure programs 2. Healthier snacks 3. Some exhibits were not in good shape. Overall great value!

This is absolutely the best place to take your adventurous kids They get introduced to cool science, turtles, reptiles and all the neat stuff. They offer a great birthday package for you and your family to use the facility. The garden is beautiful. My family and I adore this place!

We had a great time at the Discovery Center. The grandkids enjoyed the play area. Although they need to keep their shoes on because if all of the "Goathead" stickers on the playground. The staff were awesome and very friendly! Dinosaur books being read with a Bearded Dragon on the readers lap was the highlight! Also, don't leave before checking out the gardens on the South side of the property. If you are looking for ideas of plants to grow in our hot environment (cactus and vegetable garden) make sure to take a stroll and get encouraged from their excellent displays of fruit and vegetable plants.

Went today on a school fieldtrip with my daughters school and it was a great experience. At first I thought it looked a bit small, but after we started doing different activities...we needed more time! Nice place to take the kids!

Here on predeployment leave we were looking for something fun to do with our kids that we didn’t have back home. We didn’t want to go to the zoo so we decided on here. When we got to the discovery center it was way smaller than expected. The outside equipment looked really worn down and we were worried about the kids getting splinters. There was a huge tortoise outside so that was kind of cool. There was a sign that said bunny patch but there were no bunnies to be seen. We spent about 45 minutes here. The best part was inside with the kitchen, large puzzles, and fire engine toys where our kiddos spent most of their time.

Such a neat place! Great for kids in the area. Really cool sculptures and statues, interactive educational play areas, a VERY neat space shuttle, a fascinating set of acoustic whisper dishes, a worm tunnel, multiple playground sets, and a great indoor area too. This place deserves the best.

We tried it but I don't think we will be back. It is very outdated. The playground was dirty. The paint was worn. It looked like a junk yard with old stuff for kids to play with. The inside was very dirty. Most of the items seemed to just be collecting dust. The front were you dig had broken shovels and no bones. I'm not sure why they would put a pond at a children's discovery center... it's literally asking for someone to fall in. To be completely honest, you could go and not even pay. The staff doesn't check for bracelets. Most of the time, they are on their phones at the front desk.

Fantastic museum that is more than meets the eye. My wife and I took our 5 year old daughter and were pleasantly surprised at the number of exhibits inside and outside. There were also live animals and fish aquariums. The turtles were the best! The staff was helpful and knowledgeable the entire visit. If you are to visit Fresno take the trip to this excellent children's museum.

Been coming here for what seems like a million years. The staff is growing, the classes are expanding, and they're not showing any signs of stopping. For anyone who came here as a kid that's now older and wiser like me, rest assured that the Discovery Center is still very similar to what you remember, if not a little bigger. Hi Tina! (Employee) Don't forget to let me know if you need any more volunteer help!

The Discovery Center has been around for many years.I went as kid many years ago. After a devastating fire.It has risen like the Phoenix .Great Place to educate children and have Fun.Around the corner are several restaurants including the "Triangle" known for "50"s style motif and great food.

It needs major cleaning!!! It's really cute place for kids to have fun and run around between places. My kids did had fun for a couple of hours but adults not so much. There's a lot of black widows and spider webs everyday. I had to be on top of my kids to make sure they didn't get near. (My kids age 3.5 years and a 1 year old) This place has so much potential and maybe with the help of volunteers or the city to fix this place up. A lot of the science activities didn't work. My husband kind of clean the webs 🕸 near the playground but there's so many. There's one guy really nice and takes out the turtle and black bunny for kids to pet and see. I would love to bring my kids here more often but not in those conditions.

There are some cool exhibits inside, but everything is pretty filthy and looks like it’s never cleaned. The wooden play structures outside look worn beyond the point of safety and there were a lot of spider webs. I couldn't let my kid play in them. Disappointing because it looks like this could be a pretty cool place if it weren’t so worn down.

This is a small science center. Everything is interactive and we had a good time. The garden access is included too which is great. Staff is warm and friendly. I just feel like the place needs a good cleaning and upgrade.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews I almost didn’t go. I was pleasantly surprised and for being volunteer run it was very good! It was not dirty inside and I didn’t see any black widows. There is a nice pond with turtles and koi fish. Also, 2 very cute bunnies! Some reviews said interactive pieces missing but most were there. My grandson loved the huge sandbox and digging for the bones. There is also a snack bar available. The community needs to support them and offer to help if you are able!

My 2 year old son had a great time exploring and playing. The staff was really friendly and they even brought out a snake for the kids to touch. The equipment seems outdated, but the kids seem to enjoy it.

I absolutely LOVE the Garden of the Sun and all the other activities for the kids. The one downfall is that the location surrounding the Fresno Discovery Center does not feel safe and parking is not the greatest. I've experienced a break-in when visiting the Center. One must park on the street in what feels like an unsafe area and it would be nice if there were better parking accommodations.

Fresno Discovery Center is a great place to take your young kids and keep them active for a few hours. They have an indoor area with some cool little science activities, Legos, kitchen toys, and other little activities. They also have a large outdoor area with swings, slides, and a pond where you can feed the fish. There is also a cactus garden and a dinosaur area with giant dinosaur statues and a sand area where kids can dig for bones. I'd say it's meant for kids age 2-8 years old. I hosted my son's 3rd birthday party there. They have a nice party room that can fit about 30 people comfortably. The room has it's own kitchenette and restroom. This place has been around for a long time, and even though there are some parts of it that are a little run down, they have done a great job keeping it nice. The staff is very friendly and made the experience even better.
