I had to update this review. The son of the cook was very belligerent and nationalist, plus a terrible waiter. I speak Russian as well as German. Since he spoke Russian to me last time around, I assumed I could speak Russian to him again, but he told me that “we are in Berlin”, and did so disrespectfully and in front of other guests. When everyone had left, I asked him what the reason for his behavior was, as well as where he was originally from, at which point he threatened to call the police on me… Nothing else to say, not recommended, unless you’re German perhaps… Btw, I ordered from this “restaurant” once via Wolt, including the imported Russian Old Miller beer for over 5€, but received a Berliner Pils instead… I have photos and other evidence to prove it. There are so many much better Eastern European restaurants in Berlin, so don’t make the same mistake I made and just go elsewhere. ——- The food was very good. I can recommend the Borscht, Vareniki and Golubtzi. The main server was very helpful and kind, but also had to do all the work by himself, which felt somewhat tedious and the service felt a bit slow. Overall, a positive experience, just don’t expect something out of the ordinary - it’s a small cafe.

Came with a Russian friend hoping to get the real experience and was not disappointed at all! In fact, the man and his mother was so kind, detail oriented and generous I decided I'd return for my final meal in Berlin. A must visit.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Portionen sind groß. Preislich finde ich es in Ordnung. Es gibt rel viel Auswahl an Speisen, auch vegetarische oder vegane Optionen. Es gibt bei gutem Wetter wenige Tische draussen und ansonsten einige drinnen. Für Berlin ist es nichts ungewöhnliches dass man nicht mit Karte zahlen kann.

Der Laden ist sehr klein aber irgendwie gemütlich. Trotzdem müsste hier mal aufgeräumt werden und das ein oder andere erneuert werden. Der Service zu unserem Besuch war “stets bemüht”. Aber das reicht leider heutzutage nicht mehr. Besteck mussten wir uns selbst holen und nach der Vorspeise wurden wir gefragt ob wir nicht die benutzten Gabeln und Messer weiter benutzen können für den Hauptgang. Sowas ist leider ein no-go. Das essen war jedoch sehr gut. Hat wunderbar geschmeckt und zum größten Teil typisch russisch. Gerne hätte ich an der Stelle 4 Sterne vergeben aber es gab leider noch paar unnötige Patzer. Die Preise der Online-Speisekarte entspricht nicht den Preisen der Vor-Ort-Karte. Zum Teil sind die Preise fast doppelt so hoch! Als wir zahlen wollten war erst mal die Aussage das Kartenzahlung nicht möglich ist. Dann komischerweise ging es doch, sogar zur Verwunderung der Servicekraft. Daher leider nur 3 Sterne trotz gutem Essen.

They don’t really need more five star reviews, but we had such a great experience. Aleks is kind, fun, and very knowledgeable. Definitely try the appetizer sampler. They recently overhauled their menu, so if you’ve visited before Corona, it’s time to return!

Ich bin noch hin- und hergerissen. Das Essen ist nicht ganz so gut, wie das in der Nähe leider geschlossene osteuropäische Restaurant, aber trotzdem gut. Bedauerlicherweise gab es auch nicht mehr jedes Bier. Auch der Birkensaft war alle. Zum Glück gab es Alternativen. Leider war die Bedienung mit den auf einmal erscheinenden Gästen überfordert. Zu viele Bestellungen auf einmal. Vielleicht lag es einfach nur an den Tag. Egal. Essen war gut, Restaurant verdient einen zweiten Besuch. Und ... erfolgt. Es war ein entspannter Abend. Essen war gut und auch sonst passte es. Kohlroulade und Bortsch gut. Trotzdem nicht ganz zu vergleichen mit meinem Lieblings-Osteuropäer. Schon wegen des Gerichtes "Hering im Pelzmantel". Ungeachtet dessen lohnt sich der Besuch. Die russische Küche ist sehr vielfältig. Einen Stern mehr!

Friendly and homely atmosphere in this place. I highly recommend their bortsch and meat rolls in cabbage leaves. It tastes like home-made food. Try their Russian beer Zhiguli or their special dessert Medovik if you have a sweet tooth. You won't regret it!

Nette, familiäre Atmosphere, schneller und sehr netter Service mit ausführlicher Beratung. Wir haben als Vorspeise Eierkuchen mit Fleisch (Bliny) und Perashki bestellt, waren sehr gut! Als Hauptgerichte gefüllte Paprika mit Hackenfleich (gibt’s vegetarisch auch) gegessen, als Beilagen hausgemachte Kartoffel und Buchweizen ausgewählt, war sehr gut. Mors (ein russiches Getränk) war für uns frisch gemacht und sehr lecker. Aber was uns besonders gefallen ist, war Serviceform aller Bestellungen: mit Obst und Gemüsen schön “dekoriert” und voll mit Liebe gemacht.

Absolutely delicious food! Well balanced seasoning, absolutely amazing sauces, attentive service and it was also quite quickly served. Only downside really is that they don’t take credit and debit cards unless you get several meals; I’d normally get a star out, but this is Germany, so it’s acceptable. Apart from that, definitely recommended!

Flavorful and well served portions. 👌Uzbek, Kazak, Russian and Central european stuff. It's a small and quiet place, great value for the meals, and a super host who gives great advice.

Food is super delicious, you can’t miss it if you wanna try some real homemade food. The boss explained details about their special daily menu and the typical ones so that I picked the most preferred one. My friend and I spent a wonderful night here. It’s not a very giant restaurant but the decorations make everything cozy.

Amazing place with a very tasty Russian cuisine. We had a 3-course daily dish (Tagesgericht) for 12.90€, and it was a lot of tasty food, I was barely breathing. If your stomach is not big, take only a 2-course dish for 9.9€ and trust me, it will be more than enough. All dishes were amazing and authentic, like homemade. I had a soup (Rassolnik), a Dampfstrudel (see photo) and Blini as a dessert. I highly recommend this place, it really tastes like at home.

Wir waren im Dezember dort vor Ort als Gruppe. Der Kellner (evtl. auch Inhaber) war das Schlimmste was mir bis dato passiert ist (und ich gehe wirklich oft essen). Er war zu uns allen extrem unfreundlich, dreist und unverschämt. So jemand sollte besser nicht in der Gastronomie arbeiten. Der Laden selbst sieht eher wie ein Imbiss aus und wirkt auf mich persönlich kein bisschen einladend oder gemütlich. Das Essen war ganz ok, die russische/sibirische Küche ist persönlich nicht so meins, aber das muss jeder selbst ausprobieren. Ich kann diesen Laden aufgrund des fürchterlichen Service nicht empfehlen.
