Small but really nice museum, this kind of place to help you to learn a lot of history of the south of Germany. Cheap with interactive activities for everyone

The Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen is an absolute gem! I had an incredible experience exploring its rich history and the fascinating world of airships. The museum’s well-curated exhibits are both informative and visually captivating. From the meticulously restored Zeppelin artifacts to interactive displays, it offers a comprehensive journey through the era of airship innovation. The highlight was walking inside a life-sized replica of a Zeppelin gondola. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate, eager to answer any questions. The museum’s location on Lake Constance provides a stunning backdrop. Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or history buff, this museum is a must-visit.

Interesting museum for anyone interested in the history of aviation. Not a huge museum, but lots of knowledge if interested. Not too much for young kids. There was a couple hands on displays, but mostly targeting older kids and adults. Favourite fact: zeppelin crossed from Europe to South America in 86 hours.

Super interesting museum about Zeppelins and the history of dirigibles in general. They used to build Zeppelins in Friedrichshafen, so now there is this museum. Inside there is a full sized section of the Hindenburg passenger compartment which you can explore, and a cool retro 3d film room. There are tons of historical exhibits, and a hands-on room with aeronautical experiments to play with. If you're in Friedrichshafen, it's worth visiting this museum.

Overall, the museum is pretty impressive as far as what exhibits it has on display, to include the largest remnant from the Hindenburg. There are also pieces from the Graf Zeppelin, and a room full of Zeppelin memorabilia and collectibles. It was nice to see the audio commentary available in several languages, just wish that that the same could be said about some of the text as well. I just wish there was a focus on the DELAG airline, as I feel like that's a lesser known part of aviation history. Either way, if you're an aviation fan, this place is well worth your time.

Unique, fun experience. Luckily it was a Sunny clear day for this once a lifetime experience in a zeppelin. The entire process is smooth, easy, and very comfortable. The staff and crew are great and make you feel relaxed and help you enjoy the many sights.

The Zeppelin museum was very interesting. Unfortunately alot of the media devices (like little headphones to listen to sound-bits were broken. Also about 90% of all the museums signage and exhibition info is in German only. Exhibition signs would have German&English titles and then only German explanation. I feel I could have learned much more if I had been able to understand the info provided. Also it is not allowed to take pictures inside which is really old fashioned and obsolete as people try to do it anyway with their smartphones. This rule should be lifted, but there are angry museum eyes everywhere watching. So it was an interesting visit, but could have been much better.

With QR code you can have everything explained in different languages. Elevators and ramps make the whole museum barrier-free. Nice museum also the airplane museum is just as good. I recommend. Interesting. Maybe not so spectacular as I expected but is just my opinion. They offer a lot of information and you need to be fresh and to have time to read and ingest everything. Technique and history, that's what you find here. There is also a small interactive part dedicated to children so that they understand the phenomena of physics, but the attraction is greater for adults.Personally, I liked the room of curiosities. A small exhibition of antiques, related to the zeppelin, audio explained in German and English. There is also a deck of Hyndenburg Zeppelin reproduced so we can understand the dimensions but also the comfort of that flying machine. I am glad that I was able to visit this museum.

Most happy that I decided on a couple of nights in Friedrichshafen so that we could make the most of a visit to the museum, without any time pressure to rush through. I can't recommend the Zeppelin app highly enough; its feature of making available commentaries on nearby exhibits was first rate. It has the added benefit of being able to revisit information afterwards. I don't know if the information cards that are available to pick up around the museum are supposed to be for children only, but I (hopefully) got the full set. Included is a full scale replica of part of the Hindenburg. For a complete excursion into the world of dirigibles, especially the most famous, synonymous name of Zeppelin, there can be no better destination

Interesting to know Zeppelin history. Nicely organized museum. You get to see two generic sections explaining history, mechanical design details( with kids there are small activities also explaining few principles along with few post cards to take away) and lastly with a 2-3 minute theatre clip. Also attached is a v2o restaurant, popular one in Friedrichschafen. Time to spent depends on your interest but typically could take 1.5 to 2 hours.

Lots of bits and pieces of different zeppelin's, quite interesting but very technical. A shame the Hindenburg - walkthrough is not good accessable with use of a walker.

The zeppelin museum is fun and the reconstruction of the zeppelin is great to experience. Also great to see the history of zeppelins in beautiful models. Only the museum could have been more in depth about the workings of the zeppelin and the technology. Also the temporary exhibition is not worth visiting and should have been filled with more about zeppelins.

Nice little museum. The kids had fun. There is a family ticket to help save you some money. I'm glad we went. Lots of shopping and a bunch of restaurants along the lake for afterwards.

  • 5/5 Simone H. 3 years ago on Google
Really cool museum. They rebuild a part of the Hindenberg and you can enter the Zeppelin and visit the quarters, see the original menus and get a feeling what it was like. They have a little flying simulator, a 3D movie theater and some hands on exhibits for kids. It's not that large either, so perfect to spend 1-2 hours.

Interesting museum, but very pushy staff 👎🏽‼️ there were more of them then visitors, therefore they were behind us all the time 🙄! Were forcing us out 10 minutes before the museum closes & even came into the loo to tell me to get out! Called her out on that, said that they were all so rude, but she just tried to defend herself by telling me that they are such a big team, yeah so what? How about a "how to treat people nice" team training? Could not get worse.

Great museum - so much information and bigger than I had anticipated it. It’s quit unique and focused on many aspects of the zeppelin history, aviation, aerodynamics, passenger experience and much more. We spend 2.5 hours and didn’t make it through everything - will be back to see the rest. Don’t miss the special exhibitions. If you arrive by train you get a small discount on the tickets.

  • 1/5 Derrick H. 1 year ago on Google
A big disappointment! This museum, with great potential to tell a fantastic story about (German) aviation history unfortunately, and to our groups opinion, failed to reach the depth it could have. With shallow snippets of content provided for the fascinating exhibits, it fails to show the full story of the Zeppelin. With a strange connection to "Art" combined with the Zeppelin exposition, the goal of what the museum wants to show, appears to the be something revolving around activism commonly found with todays contemporary and post modern arts.

It was interesting. The entrance it's about 12 € per person. Big enough the place but still something was missing to give 5 stars. I feel like if they could have more interactive things would be more interesting. There was a painting area what I did not understand how is connected to Zeppelin... I saw a little cabin lots of stuff from that century...parts, clothes typewriter, coins and stamps...etc. I'm sure is also good for kids and they had a little area outside (near the front door) a "Zeppelin" playground. Looks like Zeppelin aircraft.

  • 4/5 Michael v. 1 year ago on Google

  • 4/5 Ewald Van Der H. 1 year ago on Google
Very interesting museum having a very large collection of history about the time that zeppelins were invented and built. There is a partial replica of the hindenburg on display, which gives a great impression of how it was to travel at the time in this craft. You can walk through the rooms and look out of the windows of the cabin of this replica. There are many different models on display of zeppelins and their inventors and constructors. Also, other products that were produced at the zeppelin factory are on display like exclusive cars and special highly technical equipment parts that were sold to their customers. I did not know, but the zeppelin fortune was donated to a foundation that still exists today and comprises many companies and the proceeds of which are used for good causes in friedrichshaven

  • 5/5 Radek D. 1 year ago on Google
Interesting museum focus on zeppelin air baloon and airships. A lot of artefact from Hindenburg airship. Very interesting is part of model of this airship (scale 1:1)! In second floor, there is room where is about 8 experiments explaining theory about flying and engines. I like it. In enterence there is a gift shop, where you can buy small inflatable airship :-)

  • 5/5 Pavel J. 1 year ago on Google
Very unique museum for fans of transportation. For anybody around a must see place! You can see there history of airships, many models, parts of construction, as well as real part of airships you can go thru. Very interesting 👍. Only one comment against: many texts are only in german. For example just header is in german/english and detail only german. My solution was Google translate and its photorecognition of text 😉. Overall I can recommend!

The museum at Friedrichshafen is well worth a visit. The recreation of parts of the ill-fated "Hindenburg" (destroyed on 6 May, 1937) is particularly impressive. If you're fortunate enough to see it without any other visitors present (which is possible at certain moments on a weekday), you'll probably experience quite an odd, almost eerie feeling. Go ahead and see it - the entrance fee (€11) is money well spent. The presentation of all the exhibits is excellent.

  • 5/5 Stephen L. 5 years ago on Google
It's so phenomenal, plenty to look around and Hindenburg Zeppelin as how it was manufactured by Germans worker. There are 1,2,3,4th floors. It takes a long while to browse around and it allows taking photos and video at the items and pictures. It only cost €11! A great reasonable price. It is well worth it.

(Translated by Google) Worth seeing and extremely informative. The history of the zeppelins is presented very nicely with many exhibits. The recreated accommodations in a zeppelin are impressive. You feel very safe in the museum, it's not too crowded. A distance of 1.5m can be kept for the most part and you have to wear a mask the entire time you are visiting. Anyone who has a problem with this has a problem. The hygiene concept is understandable and perfect. (Original) Sehenswert und äußerst Informativ. (Translated by Google) nice museum with a lot of background information about the zeppelins. Unfortunately, despite the fine weather and during the week outside of the holidays, far too full. Sufficient distance was very difficult. The exhibition areas with restricted people (which makes sense!) Are only accessible after a long waiting period. But whether the queue is in front of or behind the door does not solve the problem of too many people in too little space. Here it is better to limit the main entrance so that you can wait outside.

Place accessible to all, very positive visitor experience having been able to take postcards to deepen the topics covered for tourists. I highly recommend parents to take their children to both the Zeppelin museum and today's Zeppelin flight point
