Great food and good service

Surprisingly good food. The taco salad and pretzel stick appetizer were both really good. Service was great as well!

A very friendly atmosphere with great service and a menu that contains a wonderful listing of yummy tavern food offerings. I highly recommend this tavern.

This place has a real family owned feel in the best possible way. The staff is very kind, the food is fresh and well made. This place offers your standard bar food and the happy hour is fantastic. It has some of the best artichoke dip in the business. The wings and the potato skins are crispy and perfectly fried. The sweet staff also offered us drinks to go.

Best "pub food" "sports bar fare" place I've found in STL. Service is outstanding. The vibe is standard MikeDuffysWebersOBClarksEtc -- completely nondescript and devoid of interest. So bring the fun and fun peeps with you, and PJ's will make sure everyone loves their meal. 4.5 stars.

Service was very good. Food not so much. I ordered a tavern ribeye with fries, it came in with baked potato, which I was fine with it too, if the potato was cooked. Hard, raw baked potato? Took it home to finish cooking next day. My husband ordered a Reuben and he said that it was just a low ok. Otherwise was not too bad of a experience. Btw, the hostess and put server were really nice and I could tell that they were having a good day.

They can do wings right. Surprising that many places don't, but here they will be just about crispy enough and classic sauce is nice and buttery. Potato soup is great. Unfortunately the burger came out and I could tell before my husband took a bite that it was a perfectly round pre-cut patty from a package with the fake charbroiled marks- the kind you bring to a family reunion to save money because you don't like most of them lol. But I was quiet to see what my husband thought. He took one bite and said "gross. It's a fake. Pre-made I think". So that was disappointing and seemed a bit lazy since a GREAT burger would definitely fit right in as a staple. The server didn't bother to ask why he barely touched it. Otherwise she was attentive and the servers were all working their tails off. No biggie. Just better stuff here to try than the burger. Noted. We'll probably be back now that I realize they have Ms Pacman.

We had a large group, 20 people. The waitress was awesome. The food was excellent, hot and delivered quickly. Pricing was very reasonable.

I had hosted a surprise birthday party at their next door location, Jefferson Grill and it went very well. The staff were very friendly and we had the best bartender. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to host your next event.

Very generous portions with good service. The Nachos appetizer was awesome.

I arrived at 6:35pm. It is now 7:56 and we are still waiting for our food!!! The hostess took my name when I got here and suggested we sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited. Over an hour later we were still waiting at the bar. I went to the manager and asked why we hadn’t been seated yet “we’ve been waiting over an hour”. His reply was “ are you Jan? I walked by calling your name “. I can tell you he never did. There was never any apology. We were finally seated, ordered a couple of burgers and it took another 30 minutes!!! It is now 8:25 and we are still waiting for the check.

My favorite pub restaurant in St. Louis! Always friendly, prompt service and a friendly welcome when entering. Never have gone wrong with any sandwich, burger, etc. The French Onion soup? Out of this world good, must try it if you like French onion soup. All the servers have been great. Josey has always been wonderful when I eat at the bar.

I love this place! Great food, and great service every time. It's family friendly when we all want to go in for lunch, but also a good place to hang out with friends and have a drink. Good happy hour specials, and the best bartenders!

Super cozy atmosphere, a great date spot. The food was amazing, cooked fresh, and the prices for the amount of food was really good. The staff were also super nice and made sure our every need was taken care of. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in this area again!

After trying to find somewhere to eat for a good hour on a Sunday, we settled with PJs. What a great decision! Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Good was served promptly and tasted delicious. Will definitely be back again!

This place is great. Comfortable, clean, and good food. My son and I were looking for a place to hang out and watch the game. Lots of TVs, friendly staff, and plenty of parking nearby. Thanks for a nice Saturday!

I have been coming here for many years and can only say good things about this place. The servers and bartenders are awesome and treat you with respect and common courtesy. The food is good, but what really makes this place great is the staff. 🙂

Popular neighborhood grill with nice ambiance, great service, and good food -- at a good price. It seems so incredibly popular with local folk that on Sunday afternoon they were lined up to get a table. Quite an endorsement!

This is decent place - don't let the 3-star rating dissuade you from going. I went on a weekday afternoon, around 2:30. The place was mostly empty as you'd expect at this time of day. It is appropriately dark inside, as it is a tavern; it has a comfortable feel to it. I sat at the bar in front of a small TV with sports on. They keep ketchup, mustard, salt & pepper on the bar every few feet, which I like; it's convenient. The bartender was very nice. They have standard bar fare and 10 different specialty burgers to choose from. I ordered a regular cheeseburger with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and extra pickles. The burger was fine; not great, not bad. One thing that I found really odd for a place that has so many burgers on the menu: they don't have pickles as a burger condiment (like the little round "pickle chips" that are so common...think of a McDonalds hamburger). They serve a pickle spear on the side, but do not have pickles that fit on a burger. Very odd to me. No biggie - I cut up my pickle spear and put it on the burger, and the bartender was happy to give me another pickle on the side. The beer I had was cold. All in all, I found PJ's to be very average and middle of the road...not particularly remarkable. Clean enough, friendly enough, decent food, but nothing really memorable except for the pleasant bartender and the no pickles on the burgers. I'd go back, but would try some place I haven't been, first.

We went for lunch to try out there well-known Ruben's sandwiches. They lived up to there fame of delicious rye bread with a large amount of corned beef which was not fatty. A nice amount of cheese and dressing. The sandwich was very large and delicious. I had tea with it which was good but maybe not the best choice to go with this corned beef sandwich. Not sure what would have been better. Maybe my friends choice of root beer would have been the key. I had the creamy coleslaw on the side and my friend had the shoe string French fries which was a very generous amount. Although they were very busy the service was relatively fast. Never had a bad meal. Lunch or dinners have been very good. Great service. Drinks are great and the restaurant is close to many things to do in Kirkwood. I recommend.
