I love everything about this place. The only real critique I have is the potatoes are a little too well done. I didn't ask them to make mine lighter or anything but both times that I've been they are dark and dried out. I think it's just their style. They look that way on every plate in the restaurant. There Tess' Toast is amazing.

It was a 30 min wait that was well worth it. Everything was hot, fresh, and good. The service was excellent and the price was reasonably. Very diverse menu and I will be returning. Footage of our visit is on YouTube at the Davis314Family. Check it out!

My wife and I went there for a Sunday Brunch. It was our first time there. When we arrived, the place was crowded with a small line inside the restaurant. We got our booth after a short wait. MJ ordered Steak and eggs along a Ham biscuit and coffee. The steak was a bit chewy for her but she enjoyed her meal. My order was blueberry pancakes, sausage, potatoes and orange juice. For some reason, my main order was not filled even though the waitress took it. She went back to the kitchen and got the cooking started. The pancakes came a few minutes after my wife's order. Despite this, my brunch was very good. We both enjoyed our meals. The service was good and the staff friendly. It is a place worth trying.

Good place. I was really craving to go to this place, it’s always crowded and heard it was good from many friends. Maybe I had huge expectations, but I found it to be good, just that, nothing out of this world. Coffee was average, the pancakes were good. It’s a good place, but overhyped.

it should be a good day but ruin by your place. Let customer stand inside and waiting like a decoration for a long time. I think i should get pay for that. I have eye contect to most of your team, they just ignore. what a great training! if the coustomer need something they just ignore and want you leave.

TL;DR - best food, cozy atmosphere, quick service and optimal for brunch. After my first time there, I have gone back 5 times this month. Best biscuits and gravy in St. Louis and I'll combat anyone who says otherwise. The Clara cakes are delicious and the salmon hash was also fantastic, but those biscuits and gravy....charge me double and I'll still pay. Seriously, just go there and enjoy. There's plenty of room inside, the service is quick, the patio is also great for brunch, especially if you kind of like being spotted having brunch by total strangers. You know what I mean. Did I mention the bottomless mimosas? Chances are, if you're going there on a Sunday morning, you've seen me there.

5/5 Absolutely delicious brunch place. Got the flat iron steak hash, which has come to replace steak and eggs as my favorite. The avocado toast here is also very delicious. Big portions, so come with an empty stomach.

Overall my experience was BLAH unfortunately. For Father's Day I called in advance as they told me I could reserve a table. I called in at 10:08am and was told the wait was an hour which was understandable since it was Father's Day morning. I asked my name be put on the waiting list. I was promised a follow up call or text neither came. I finally informed the host at 1131AM that we were in the building. Was told it would be another 25 minutes to wait which actually took another 50 minutes. After being seated we ordered donuts, OJ and a Jasmine peach tea to hold us over until the food came. The food dropped at our table at 1PM. At this point I'm no longer hungry and more frustrated than anything. The father ordered the steak hash ($23), I ordered the salmon hash ($21) and the kid ordered from the kids menu(6.50). The taste of the food was average to me but my family seemed to enjoy it. I will say the 1 piece of bacon, cup of fruit and 1 egg was not enough for my 6 year old. The doughnuts were my favorite and the steak in the steak hash was well seasoned and in the salmon hash the over easy egg was perfectly cooked. The bill was about $70 before a tip was added. I did not get to enjoy my food as I tried to do but hey some places are a hit or miss sometimes. This time it was a MISS for me but I do think I will give this place another try in my far future.

Had breakfast/brunch there & we loved it. The Atmosphere, waitress & the place was nice. Would definitely go back. I did try the biscuits & gravy was not Fond of the taste but that is just me, they use white lily wheat, so keep that in mind if you get those, there is difference in taste. Coffee was delicious!

Half and half is exceptional. A great place for a morning breakfast for business to a perfect way to start a Fathers Day (go with the steak skillet/hash) the food is fantastic. Savory and sweet (blueberry cheesecake stuffed French toast 😊🤩). Staff is always nice and working hard. Not sure there is a better breakfast venue in town…

Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Everything sounded good. I got an iced vanilla latte which was a tad sweet for my taste but still great. We were there for breakfast, and usually I’m not adventurous with breakfast foods at restaurants, but I tried the steak hash. Oh my gosh. It was delicious. Definitely recommend. I wish we were local so we could eat there all the time.

Adorable little place. I love the optional open bar seating and old-time feel of a country store. The food was delicious and made fresh. Everything came out hot. As the staff walked by with food, there was not one thing that didn't look delicious. The bourbon infused chia tea latte, the bloody mary, and the Irish coffee were great.

It has been way too long since I’ve been here! I go be back again and again! biscuits and gravy and thwere perfect! Hot and creamy and not too salty! My wife got the cheesecake French toast and she loved that too. We also shared the veggie hash with added turkey sausage and the veggie combo was so good! Service was the best we had in awhile. Definitely felt homey and we felt cared for by our server, Maggie, and all the staff there. Only complaint is that they should definitely get more space! It was boppin and busy busy! Will be back again and again!

Recently got to try breakfast here twice! Both times we had very good food, service and coffee! We tried: lox avocado toast w/ poached egg, roasted tomato and egg sandwich, Tess’ Toast, Blueberry pancakes, Lox Benedict, and Chorizo & guacamole Benedict (on a biscuit instead of English muffin). Avocado toast and the Benedicts were our favorites. Tess’s Toast was good, but needed more lemon curd or syrup on the side. Blueberry pancakes needed more blueberry butter. Unfortunately, the potatoes had no seasoning and were a weird almost crispy stale texture. The cinnamon vanilla honey latte hot was delicious! Can’t wait to go back and try something else off the menu!

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Really good service, amazing food. We got omelette, sandwich 🥪, French toast, doughnuts and the coffee ☕ was good. The server had a big smile all the time which made the experience comfortable even though they were extremely busy. I would love to come again.

I had ordered the grilled cheese sandwich with a side of fries and it was the worst “grilled cheese” I have ever seen and I didn’t even take a bite. How is a grilled cheese on a fresh toast bread?? Make it make sense. It didn’t have enough eggs nor tomatoes and it just looked burned from the outside. Is this a grilled cheese?? I wouldn’t recommend.

Great Place and Location! First time my family and I visited and it was quite a lovely visit…from The hostess to the young men that were helping clean tables. Our waitress was prompt, helpful, friendly and sweet. The food was delicious, hot and fresh, definitely worth every penny spent. Thank you for such a Wonderful first time experience!

We were looking for a highly rated local restaurant where we could safely social distance but dine-in. We were seated fairly quickly, and it was cool and cozy and everyone was seated well apart. Water was served immediately and I ordered delicious local drip coffee with cream on the side. The Biscuits and Gravy were amazing: creamy, just the right amount of spice and savory flavor, and the biscuits had a nice crisp bottom. My bf got the Borracho Breakfast, and he ate it speechlessly, which means he loved it. We also got the Blackberry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast...there are no words for how amazing it is. Order it. The service was personable, friendly, timely, and ideal. We will be back!

Popular breakfast spot. I went on a Sunday shortly after it opened. Food was great, but it's not the spot for a quick breakfast. Try the cinammon donuts!

  • 5/5 Serge S. 9 months ago on Google
Doughnuts for starters - back to the childhood. Welcoming setting and variety of breakfast options. Kids menu has good choices and combinations. Kids loved their hot chocolate. I enjoyed salmon hash, it was full of flavors with added greens, capers and sunny side up. Coming little after 8 am on Saturday morning, we were able to get easy street parking and were seated without wait. Service was a bit slow, but delicious food compensated for that.

The French Toast Latte & The Half & Half Breastfast is everything!! I added a blueberry pancake on the side and this meal was complete!

  • 3/5 Shawn S. 1 year ago on Google
Great atmosphere…and energy overall good place to take friends and family. The “Avocado Toast” was Very Underwhelming when compared to other nearby establishments. However, the other flare made up for the lacking #AvocadoToast. The food seasoning was fair, but expected.

Wonderful breakfast place for a peaceful and flavorful bit of St. Louis heaven. I had the steak hash with two eggs over easy. It was fantastic. Easy parking on the street if you get there early and more parking in back if you don’t.

Awesome place! The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient! Parking is off-street! The food was cold but was still delicious! The cost is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food!

On our road trip, we received an email from Travel & Leisure on the best US brunches…and realized that Half & Half was just a stones throw away from our stay in downtown St. Louis! Decidedly, being avid brunch goers, Half & Half made our list of must-dos in our short visit and it definitely delivered. 💕 Plenty of street parking upon arrival, though, I should note that we arrived just a few minutes after opening and it was already abuzz with families and dates. Note to make a reservation or prepare to wait (it is worth it). The interior is farm-house cozy with modern decor, edison light bulbs and the like. Menus are served on note book paper-like card stock with excellent descriptions of the tasteful goodies to come. We ordered mimosas (this is the best kind of mimosa with a hint of OJ if you know what I mean 😉) and lattes (pretty good, a little milky). For bites - a more classic French toast (one of the better French toasts that I have ever had, fresh berries could have been a nice addition though) and a BlackBerry cheese cake French toast (simply divine, creamy and fresh) - both were excellent. Overall, this mom and pop place has a homey type of atmosphere with lots of regulars which is always nice to experience the local food and culture scene while passing through. We most certainly extend our recommendation to Half & Half.

Placed a pick-up order, food was ready on time and everything was fantastic. Blueberry pancakes, doughnuts, half&half w/bacon. We ❤ the food and coffee here.

Good food, quite busy for a Thursday morning at 8am! We got the tacos and subbed beans for the chorizo, very good! Got the half and half breakfast, potatoes are delish! I added bacon, but they get it instead of flat top or bake so it loses its bacon flavor and just tasted fries, but besides that, tasty!

Been here multiple times and it's always great. Food is SO GOOD. Staff is awesome. Atmosphere is so pleasant. We took our 2 year old with us and they were so friendly to her. We had so much fun.

The food was incredible! We chose this place on a whim and were not disappointed. The food was plenty and seems they're one of the only places who can poach an egg in Saint Louis properly. The stuffed french toast was to die for and we loved the pancakes

  • 5/5 Shannon D. 3 years ago on Google
We ate on the patio. I was 40 degree, but cozy in a parka and hat with a heat lamp next to us. Coffee was amazing and so were the biscuits and gravy.

Great food and coffee! Need better accuracy on to go orders. Ordered breakfast to go twice in a row. The kitchen forgot to put a jam that goes with the toast and the second time they didn't put the toast at all. However, the food and the coffee are great! The breakfast potatoes are excellent, definitely fried twice.

Loved the ambience. The avocado toast was fresh and delicious. I had the steak and eggs, hanger was tender. Wife loved the eggs Benedict...friends enjoyed their omelet and mimosas. Customer service was excellent as well. Did have a tad bit wait and we can tell why immediately.

They have good food and coffee. This was my second visit to a Half & Half. The Macchiatos are very delicious. Great quality espresso. This second visit was a bit of a let down but knowing the quality is there the place still deserves 4 stars at least. The service could have been much better. And the oatmeal that i got was kind of hard to get a spoonful of due to the cup it was served in combined with the large chunks of bananas and whole walnuts. Definitely would recommend for a breakfast or brunch though.

Good food, good people. Get there early on brunch days, it's busy. Doing a good job of masks and distancing.

  • 5/5 Miranda K. 3 years ago on Google
The food was great and we loved the service. I ordered the blackberry cheesecake French toast, and it was delicious! The only complaint I had was that they didn't have a gluten free menu available, and we couldn't trust that there wouldn't be any cross contamination with my sister's celiac disease so she only had coffee the entire time we were eating. Such is life with food sensitivities/allergies.

I am literally sitting outside in 38 degree weather waiting 30 minutes for a seat. That’s how great the steak and eggs plate is from this place. I came here yesterday and was blown away by the taste of the coffee and the steak. Highly recommend. They let me order a coffee while I wait. My face is numb lol.
