This museum is enormous and is packed with models of the Russian/Soviet fleet right up to recent times. You'd need a guided tour to get the real detail in English and even then it is too vast to take in on a single trip but the models alone are worth a look. What we also liked was the art displayed alongside. The paintings depict key battles and events and give you some perspective of Russian naval history so you can get a sense of the history. Loved the cafe too!

Surprisingly interesting museum, located in a new place. Everything is light, wide and accessible... if you speak Russian. I do, but many people don’t and they won’t understand much without a guide. There are tons of intricate models with plenty of curiosities. I am not a fan of military history, but it’s a nice museum to visit considering the naval history of the city.

Amazing place to visit, a must. You will find more than a 100 years old wooden boats, submarines, aircraft, modern submarines and airplace carriers from Soviet times to actual times. If you wanna visit every hall it would take you at least 4 hours but if you like to read and pay attention to detail be ready to spend 8 hours.

This museum I can go and visit 100 times and still I would like to go in it. The models are so intricately designed and a lot of hard work has been done. The real flags of warfare... Some parts of ships and many torpedoes... Many original peices were also there but the big models caught my eyes... And the calmness in there is so good. The information about each model each part each event is also briefly written.

Unbelievably and vast museum of the naval history of Russia. Located opppsirlte the New Holland Island. For some reason not on the standard tourist route, but we'll worth a visit. Staff are friendly including the lady collecting your coat

Dozens or even hundreds of models of historical ships, trophies from battles and a lot of different unique artefacts. One of the best non art museums of Saint-Petersburg located in historical building in the city centre. In addition to museum visit you can take a 100 meters walk to another brilliant place closely related to ships - New Holland Islands. On these artificial islands from 18th century formerly were located a shipyard, prisons for sailors and more.

An extremely impressive museum. The only thing I disliked was the absence of English explanations or translations: everything is in Russian.

Probably the best Naval Museum in Russia, started by Peter the Great, with the first ship miniatures built in the 17 century. Hundreds of models: ships and planes; paintings, sculptures and historical artifacts of the Russian Navy

Huge exhibition, hundreds of models of ships and artifacts of the past. I recommend to visit this museum to everyone, even if you are not a big navy fan

A place with 19 beautifully designed rooms with plenty of exhibits about naval history of Russian shipping. Many of scrupulosity made models of tall ships, precious copies of submarines, planes, and even trains are presented here. It worth every ruble spent for the ticket.
