Went because of the good and full worthy exhibition about the Pre columbian gold. The Ethnigrafics are well exhibited in perfect conditions and explanations both in Russian and English, a little boring though. The building is marvelous and the park (Mikhailovsky park) behind is peaceful and a good walk to the museum.

(Translated by Google) The museum is just a bomb. The building was formed specifically for this museum by the decree of Nicholas I in 1895. It's gorgeous. The Marble Hall is a masterpiece, by the way, before the pandemic, New Years were always held there. Go watch, the expositions are unique. Many peoples no longer exist, but they did exist. The costumes of the peoples are gorgeous, compositions in general. And Christmas, as before, was decorated, and the mummers. Whole houses were built, a stove, a sleigh. There are temporary exhibitions. Many do not even know that such a masterpiece is hidden in the right wing of the Russian Museum.

The museum shows a rich variety of objects (5 stars) in a very poor presentation style (1 star). The museum needs in update, more explanations in English, bigger plaques, more multimedia. The potential of the museum is really high, and deserves a needed renovation.

Too much for too little. I was charged 600 admission because there was an exhibition of Inca Golden relics. Turned out to he just a few pieces scattered along the entrance hall. The rest is pretty standard. Meh!

(Translated by Google) Wonderful museum! The building itself is amazing both outside and inside - upon entering you will simply be stunned by this solemn and austere beauty. Very interesting expositions and exhibitions - everything !! I advise you to definitely go, and more than once! The museum will be especially interesting for those who love the history of the Motherland. And we, women, who most often like to look at dresses and costumes more often than men, will definitely carefully consider them - different peoples and times of the country. And one more thing: after visiting the Ethno Museum, it will become clear to you that all the wax museums in the city are cheap fakes. Here you will also see a part of a peasant hut, a shoemaker's workshop, and a cornfield with ripe ears, and a dining room in a Jewish house, and a prayer room for Old Believers, and a living room in the house of a mountaineer from the Caucasus, etc. And all this - with human figures in appropriate costumes, they are so skillfully made that at times it seems that now he will get up from the bench and go to meet you, greeting 🙃. I will go there more than once.

One of the richest ethnographic collections I’ve had the pleasure of seeing. Their collection focused on the many cultures that made up the former USSR. It was not life painted on a canvas or photographs, but the actual clothing, shoes, costumes, utensils, raw materials, crafts, and lifestyles of the people. They took you inside their homes and gave you a glimpse of daily life. The museum has permanent and temporary exhibitions - together giving a profound perspective on humanity in our global world.

I found the museum very interesting but exhibits are in a sad state and relatively beat up. If you don't mind such things and want to see anthological view of Russian (and surrounding territories) history then this place is fantastic.

(Translated by Google) Good exposure, few people, you can easily see everything. The beautiful building of the museum itself. Because of the covid, a route has been laid through the museum, which is not very convenient. But tickets can be bought directly at the museum.

Transparent stickers with black print on the shop windows are practically unreadable. Poor lighting. (Translated by Google) Museum of my childhood! The love of travel probably began with him. A huge number of utensils and household items of the peoples inhabiting the USSR. It is informative and very fascinating to look at carved Nizhny Novgorod spoons, chased Georgian jugs and clothes of people of the Far North. Periodic exhibitions please, especially "Gold of the Incas". The museum is a must-see for everyone who is not indifferent to the history of Russia and to Russian life in particular (Original)
