Their excuse was the same thing they told another reviewer about the lab vs natural stones. I was told by another pawn shop to take my jewelry to a diamond buyer because he himself could only give me $300 for my engagement ring and that was only for the gold. He said he would sell the diamonds to a diamond buyer so I should take it somewhere who buys both. I got the same price at another pawn shop prior to that. They are both south of the airport. I googled and found Essex and saw they advertised as rated #1 for highest payouts. So I drove up to Atlanta only to be offered $250 for Both my wedding ring AND engagement ring which both were 14k gold with natural diamonds on both. Mind you I was offered $300 for just the gold on the engagement ring only prior. I had other jewelry that I thought I’d get a price on as well and was low balled. I was told by another pawn shop they would give me $350 and sell it for about $1800+ themselves so I should sell it on Facebook Marketplace to get more money for it. I took their advice. All this to say that Essex did not offer me top dollar and gave me the lowest offer out of several places I went. 😒 the wedding set was from Jared for about $4200.00.

Don't waste your time selling a piece here. They will offer you a crazy low amount and then say it is because of the price of diamonds and lab created diamonds. You don't buy a diamond ring from Jarrod for 1500 and then get offered 100 for it. Sell your stuff online.

Want to share my experience as it wasn’t a good one. I brought some family jewelry to them to get an idea of the value and was willing to sell if they gave a reasonable offer. After being condescending multiple times they did make an offer which was 1/3 the offer I received at another business. Long story short is I highly recommend getting a second opinion before doing business with them.

They are the best. They designed and created my engagement ring and wedding bands. They made sure it was exactly what we wanted, down to having us choose the individual diamonds. It's really a pleasure to work with the team at Essex. We'll never go elsewhere!

Visited Ben today to sell a few pieces of jewelry and was very pleased with my experience. My husband and I were warmly greeted when we walked in and given a parking validation ticket.
