Museo Néstor Álamo

Tourist attraction Museum

👍 House museum dedicated to the composer, writer and journalist Néstor Álamo. Admission is free and you can see the room where he lived and various objects from the period spread over two floors. The visit is enjoyable and I don't know it takes long to explore the entire area. People often mention lamo, Canarian, museum,

An interesting place to stop is the Néstor Álamo Museum. Multifaceted Gran Canarian artist who stood out in various branches of music, archiving, architectural restoration and research into the history, culture and customs of the islands. Public hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Sundays and holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Restoration of what was Nestor Álamo's birthplace. The distribution (on two levels) shows traditional Canarian architecture with an interior patio. Throughout its rooms, you can see family photographs of Nestor, from his beginnings as a journalist to his musical works. At the top you can also see a collection of Canarian music that was influenced by the works of Néstor Álamo

Broad. Free entrance. There are combined exhibitions (photography and thematic room). Inside the historic center.

A quite nice museum, it is small, this is because it is a house, specifically where Néstor Álamo was born, but everything is very well explained, the ground floor is about Néstor's life, his family, childhood, work, etc. , and the upper floor about his influence on music, in addition to music in the Canary Islands, admission is completely free, so it is highly recommended if you visit.

A friend recommended it to me, since this museum is little known and does not belong to the museum network of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria. It has been very gratifying to know the musical work that has given so much to Canarian popular culture. Today we continue to sing and dance to their songs. In my opinion, the island institutions should make this museum more known.
