Amazing church both inside and out. Great view of the ocean. Historic place to be and see. What a wonderful experience. Across from the Candelaria restaurant that the best Sangria I have tasted!

One of the most beautiful churches I've seen. Very unique. It is worth to visit the town just for the basilica alone.

A unique basilica at the coast of the ocean. The interior, especially the ceiling, is very interesting. The whole square around the basilica is worth to visit as well as the west part where you can go up to visit the small but beautiful historic centre. From there, you can have an amazing view down to the basilica and the ocean. In the historic village, there is a small square next to Church St. Anna. If you need a quite place to relax I can recommend this one.

The Basilica built for the patron Saint of the islands is actually large. Words can't express the beauty of the statue of the Saint. The plaza leasing up to the Basilica is adorned/ guarded by statues along the shoreline walkway.

Boring old church. They should stop making people believe those weird things... Let's reuse the space for something more people use. The church is also not in the best condition. Oder building, needs renovation. No AC or seated benches. Please Upgrade this to 2022 Standards.

A beautiful basilica in an equally beautiful setting, lovely mass (6pm). Most definitely worth visiting, only drawback is the beggars stationed outside both entrance and exit.

Beautiful piece of architecture with paintings of over 500 years old and counting. The outside square is as nice with some army guys walking around from time to time. Funny to see some ladies asking for money but them clothes were absolutely clean. There's a religious souvenir shop next to the entrance as well as on the way to the basilica itself. Not to miss for sure

Of the religious attractions of the island of Tenerife, it is worth noting the Candelaria Basilica, which houses the sacred for all islanders, wooden sculpture of the Black-faced Virgin of Candelaria. On the southeast coast of Tenerife, there is the ancient city of Candelaria, the religious capital of the Canary archipelago. In this city, the beautiful Basilica of Our Lady of Candelaria (Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria) rises above the picturesque seashore. The Basilica of Candelaria was the first church in the Canaries dedicated to the Virgin Mary. A sacred relic is kept here - a wooden figure of the Black-faced Virgin of Candelaria. The church forms a single architectural ensemble with a statue storage (sanctuary) and a Dominican monastery. In front of the basilica, on Patrona de Canarias Square, there are bronze sculptures of the nine kings of the island.

This Basilica is amazing place with peaceful atmosphere. I saw here that they recycled the used candles and I really like this way of reusing things.

The heart of Islas Canarias is Candelaria, the basilica, black Madonna and square are a lovely place. A must see in Tenerife.

One of the finest pieces of religious architecture in the Canary Islands. A true journey through Canarian history.
