I
recently
visited
Dindigul
Thalappakatti
in
Kilambakkam,
intrigued
by
the
restaurant's
reputation
for
serving
authentic
South
Indian
cuisine,
particularly
their
renowned
biryani.
While
the
overall
experience
had
its
highs
and
lows,
it
left
me
with
mixed
feelings.
The
restaurant's
ambiance
is
a
pleasant
mix
of
traditional
and
contemporary
elements.
The
decor
reflects
the
rich
cultural
heritage
of
South
India,
creating
a
warm
and
inviting
atmosphere.
The
seating
arrangement
is
comfortable,
and
the
staff
is
generally
courteous,
adding
to
the
positive
first
impression.
Now,
let's
talk
about
the
highlight
–
the
biryani.
The
Dindigul
Thalappakatti
biryani
did
live
up
to
its
reputation
in
terms
of
flavors.
The
aromatic
blend
of
spices
and
the
tender,
well-cooked
meat
were
noteworthy.
However,
I
found
the
rice
slightly
overcooked,
compromising
the
overall
texture
of
the
dish.
The
portion
size
was
generous,
making
it
a
good
value
for
money.
The
menu
offers
a
variety
of
South
Indian
dishes,
and
we
decided
to
try
a
few.
The
starters
were
a
hit,
with
the
flavorsome
Chicken
65
and
crispy
masala
vada
standing
out.
The
main
course,
however,
had
some
hits
and
misses.
The
dosas
were
exceptional,
but
the
sambar
lacked
the
authentic
taste
I
was
expecting.
On
the
downside,
the
service
was
a
bit
inconsistent.
While
some
staff
members
were
attentive
and
prompt,
others
seemed
disinterested.
