An excellent beach just outside the Chennai city. Good choice for an evening trip. Place is major surfing spot. Surfing festival happens every year along with performance of different music band. Other stage shows also happens.

My first visit was almost 2 years ago. I’ve seen how they have developed and improved during this time. Great place for food, from morning to evening, variety of quality Indian and western food. Friendly and helpful staff, always willing to assist you with a smile in anything they can. Also amazing place for water sports as kayaking, sup or surf, with good teachers that can introduce anyone to this sports. See the uploaded photo for the views while having a meal :)

I recommend to my friend but these guys try to cheat on foreigners. Sorry to my friend for a wrong recommandation. Owner has to fire all the staff to improve.

One and only surf spot near chennai. Waves are good and bad, depends on your day. Instructors are helpful and entertaining. Showers are maintained well. Restaurant/eatery has scenic view and one can chill there for hours sipping fresh juices. Overall, a meaningful way to spend a day in Chennai. You can take surf classes here 👍👍

Amazing place for a morning water activity. We did a kayak lesson and it was amazing. They also have surfing classes and the instructors are very good. Would highly recommend this place to those who want to have different morning on a weekend. They also have a cafe which has good food.

Among the different beaches in and around Chennai, this is one beach which is most well-known for its beach activities. Falling off the way to Mahabalipuram from Chennai, this beach offers activities like windsurfing and swimming. Other attractions close to the beach like the forts, churches and the mosques make this place fall among the best places to visit in Chennai.

First uninterrupted view of the sea on ECR road before you hit the stretch of beach side resorts. You will find people with their cars parked along the bridge. It has great potential to be a walk way with some eateries but for now, it's just a quaint roadside stop. The railing is not very robust. Watch out if you are going with kids

Covelong surf festival returned after the covid hiatus. It was well organized and is really hitting its stride. Surfing contests were a treat to watch. Food stalls had good variety including some fresh masala fish fry. Parking and getting out was predictably difficult because of narrow roads.

A good place to learn surfing and meet fellow surfing prodigies. Mr. Moorthy can help you with the surf lessons.

A serene beautiful place for hangout with friends and family. Offers delicious food as well as adventurous Water sports combo right on the shores of ECR. Highly recommended.

An amazing place, we went for annual music and surfing festival. The arrangements were really good. Some real good music. No entry fee charged. The festival attract good crowd. Multiple kiosk serving food around. The pricing is slightly on the higher side. Overall we really enjoyed.

Tried surfing for the first time. The instructor murthy and his boys were very friendly. They are having a building under construction. Till now he runs his surfing school inside a black jeep in the middle of a beach. The changing rooms and bathing area was very uncomfortable, could have managed something better.

Beautiful place ..and a must visit beach in the city. Specially don't miss the great Kovalong Sea Surf festival during August. You will get the feeling of world class beach.

Food here is higly costly and tasteless.

This has been one of my favourite beaches. Almost each week I use to get to this place along with my friends. Though the inroads to this place was not good enough but believe me this beach has been one of my favourite. You can find tons of local sea food out here as well as scenic beauty that catches your attention. You can see the fresh catch each hour as the fishermen return back to the shore carrying variety of fishes.

They teach surfing here. Wonderful beach. U can see so many surfing here. They conduct the surfing festival here every year filled with gala time..

The guys from the surf school are very helpful and professional. You can also eat and stay above in the Surfturf. It's simple but clean and the only place with an actual beach vibe in kovalam. Also the only public beach area that's clean. They take care! I recommend it all .... Coming from a simple western tourist...

The covelong festival is absolutely fun. People from all over the world come together to celebrate this festival.

Too many small shops selling local food items as fried fish, fruit salad etc with no hygiene. However beach are clean little ahead.

Nice beach with not too many people. The problem is same with all the beaches in the coastline, not the cleanest beach. The sea is pretty rough and maybe good for surfing and there is a surf school nearby. The route to this beach sometimes makes you think if there really is a beach nearby.

U have surfing, kayaking and more activity. U can really explore more about you in this beach. But the beach is not fully clean, it's clean in few places n dirty in few.

Excellent place

One of THE most relaxing place I've been too. Beach, seafood and the view is something that is the most uniques selling point here. Food is pretty decent, polite staffs and a very cosy place to be at and the most important point it is safe. Suited the best place for friends catching up and also for your own private time with your book and yourself.
