Horrible. Booked online as pictures looked good. Reached there with family and checked in only to find roaches in the fridge. Extremely dirty bases of the beds. Smoke in the non smocking room. Trash on the lobby. Asked front desk about the condition and the lady said sorry! I asked for a refund and they said they can't do the refund as their policy doesn't allow. I said I can't stay even if they don't refund and left with the family. Disputed the transaction and called choice motels and provided them the detail and asked them on if they can do property inspection on random days as I provided them the pictures and the agent told they will review and take decision. Avoid this at all cost if you want yours and family's health and safety.

The worst place in my life. I was on a business trip. The first night i had a dirty room with no towels. Then while i was gone for the day they went into my room, packed my stuff and checked me out! My bag sat in the middle of the lobby all day for anybody to go through and take. Then when given another room it was disgusting as the attached pictures will show. I had to leave and find other accommodations. Now fighting for a full refund. Stay far far away from here. Sleeping in your car would be a better experience.

I wouldn't give one star but that's not an option. Zero would be more appropriate. No towels, no TV plug to turn it on and use it, no smoke detector and the door is not safely closing correctly like it had been kicked in and almost broken. There is no free coffee or many amenities as advertised. People were partying half the night in a big fest last night upstairs so sleeping wasn't great which is what this place is for, right? Anyway I won't even consider this place again as it is not clean or safe. The front desk acted as if they cannot hear...Do not come here!!

You pay for what you get, a cheap hotel. There were no towels in the room. This is the second time I've had this same problem at this hotel. Both times I had somewhere important to be and needed to freshen up. When I went to the front desk, another person was complaining about no towels in their room among other unacceptable things. This other person asked for a refund, to which the desk clerk said it was their manager's discretion, but they were unable to offer a refund. They also did not have keys to the laundry, and the general manager was not on site, so we would have to "wait". I went to the store and bought my own towels. This hotel used to be a decent, cheap option. Carpets felt grimey, bathroom light did not turn on all the way. Last time I stayed here, there was no refrigerator or microwave in the room, and they would not switch rooms for me. I thought I'd try staying here again, but each time it's problem after problem, and no one is able to fix them.

I want to give 0 stars but it is not an option. 1st key card didn't work on the door so they gave us a new room. The new room was unsanitary. Dead roaches, everything was dirty, dirty & wet towels, etc. It looked like it has never been cleaned. They said that Choice Hotels had to give a refund, luckily we called Choice before we left. They said the motel has to issue the refund. It is Tuesday and the refund still hasn't happened and the staff is utterly rude. Do not book this place.

I read all of these poor reviews and thought, how could they be true, nothing could be that bad. The rate was great so I decided to take a chance. After all, it's a National chain, there must be standards, right? I went ahead and booked a room for a few days. Upon arriving, the check in was fine and the front desk clerk was very friendly. Then I went to my room. A horror show. The walls were poorly patched everywhere. The vanity light over the sink didn't work (perhaps a blessing), dead bugs, soap dish in shower was cracked and resembled a shiv - should I continue? Hoodie wearing guy in 93 degree weather walking around, numerous bags of garbage laying on the ground just feet from the empty garbage cans on the walkways, walkway light hanging off the building. A comfortable looking chair in the room with stains so bad I was afraid to sit, I covered a rolling chair with a towel and sat there instead. Unfortunately I was then short a towel as there were only two supplied. Tub was extremely slippery and bath floor grotesque. Pillows looked as if they had been already been slept on. I will stop here as I am trying to forget this nightmare. Checked out the next day and went to another Choice location. It cost 20% more and was well worth it. Choice Hotels slogan is "Our Business is You". Obviously this Econo Lodge didn't get the memo. Run don't Walk from this place- .

I can look over most small things and try my best not to complain. But there's absolutely no sense in this. Found Roaches on on the dresser and on my cold can of Coke after a shower. Stated there long enough to shower and repack checking for bugs. Bed was broken, shower drain stopped up, shower curtain bar broken. Requested a refund but owner/management did not do nor did #Priceline. Both have lost my business indefinitely. Always Request a visual of the room before purchasing!!!

Rooms are disgusting. Reek of cigarettes and God knows what else. Floors were sticky. Smelly. No concierge to talk to most of the time I was there. Seriously seriously gross

Management will blame you for previous damage done to the rooms the switch you to. Also they go through the rooms when you leave the property. As well as let their employees assault their guests and threaten their guests with bodily harm. Not to mention they will steal your pets and lie to the cops about it

Econo Lodge University is no longer part of the Choice Hotel Chain, even though the internet shows differently. I have tried unsuccessfully to cancel my bookings for August 12, 2023...but neither the Hotel nor Choice Hotels have the "tools" to do that. Never heard of anything like this! Both told me to contact my bank for a future dated transaction. The bank indicated the platform (Choice Hotels) needs to cancel it or directly the hotel. So I am left in a quandary, with a cancelled booking. BTW Choice Hotels emailed me to cancel the booking, as this hotel was no longer a part of their chain. Buyer Beware!

Stayed here on 2/10/2023, the first room given had no power and smelled really bad. I was given a new room that smelled better but was in need of repair and deep cleaning. I do not recommend this hotel until it is cleaned up.

If i could give a Zero i would . Room had no towels and cat hair from a previous stay and we were blamed for it so we werent able to get our deposit back. if they actually check the rooms and make sure its up to par they wouldnt have crummy service. you get what you pay for but i didnt pay for bed bugs and cement blocks from the wall coming out ๐Ÿ™„. definitely need new management and staff that actually care about what the rooms look like. if you do come here bring sheets, towels and shower shoes.

My stay was less than poor. I booked this hotel online through my Choice Hotel App. When I arrived to check in, it was a lot of confusion at the front desk. When I got to my room, there was a television laying on one of them beds with roaches crawling out of, There was trash in the trash can and no towels wash clothes. Dirty foot prints in the bathtub. I called and reported this conditions to Choice Hotel customer service. I w7ouldn't let my dog stay there'

I wasn't expecting much. But, the room was filthy. The towels where dirty, the room stunk. Holes in the bed spread. I walked to the hotel next door and stayed there. If you absolutely have to stay there bring your own cleaning supplies and a sleeping bag....

The one star is for those at reception. They were kind. However, this hotel is a health hazard. In my room, there was black mold all over the ceiling. Dust was visible on the floors and got all over anything I brought in. Towels were literally used. Mold was on one of the pillows. There was an enormous whole in the bathroom ceiling where a fixture used to be. There was another one where a smoke doctor was once installed. It looks like the owner just gave up on this place; it's so bad. I'm not sure how a city like Gainesville allows it to stay open. Quite an embarrassment.

We got there at 2 am, so we needed a cheap place to stay, so didnโ€™t expect much. Our first room (non-smoke room) smelled like cigarettes, there was a trash bag outside the room, our microwave was outside the room, and our shower curtain was held up by duct tape. Second room had stained sheets, an extremely clogged shower, still smelled like smoke, and had roaches trying to enter the room whenever we opened the door. When we went to ask for towels in the morning, we were rudely denied any because the cleaning lady wasnโ€™t there, so we dried ourselves with the bedsheet. Manager was super rude even when we asked nicely. Wish I could give a 0 out of 10.

The bathroom was disgusting, we could not tell whether it was cleaned before we arrived. There was dried toothpaste in the sink. The pillows were like bricks. We could not get them to change a hard rectangular shape. Not to mention there was (what I feel is pretty standard) any hand soap, body wash, shampoo or conditioner on site. Oh, and there was also the loud pipes around 5am, when (Iโ€™m assuming) someone was showering. Thanks to them we got a very early wake up call each morning.

I only give 1 star because you have to! This place is horrible! I am not a fussy nit picky person, and for the price I wasn't expecting "top of the line" BUT... there was tissue in the peep hole, the floor hadn't seen a mop in only God knows when...literally caked on the bottom of our feet! Roaches! Hole in the bathroom door, the shower curtain was held on by duct tape, no coffee pot but we had coffee, dead batteries in the remote we called and asked for both and never seen anyone??? No washings? Believe me I checked the beds for bed bugs!!! The beds were hard as rocks as were the pillows! I was in town for a doc appt...gotta come back but I won't be staying here!
