About
10
years
ago,
we
had
this
trip
to
visit
Solo
to
learn
about
the
traditional
art
of
Indonesian
Batik
and
this
was
where
the
locals
recommended
to
us.
It
is
really
an
eye
opening
experience
that
I
get
to
see
the
beauty
of
batik
and
also
see
the
tedious
process
of
human
labor
and
time
consuming
patience
as
well
as
artistry
and
creativity.
This
place
is
in
Central
Java
and
the
pace
is
slower
than
other
parts
of
Java.
People
are
extremely
nice
and
polite,
soft
spoken
and
well
mannered.
I
really
like
this
place.
Batik
is
originated
from
Javanese
and
Central
Java
is
where
the
majority
of
Javanese
reside.
The
place
has
tons
of
batik
shops,
big
or
small,
expensive
or
cheap.
And
everyone
can
explain
to
you
the
meaning
of
the
motif
they
have
on
the
batik.
This
is
really
a
cultural
gene
that
nowhere
else
in
Indonesia
can
do
this.
We
have
visited
many
batik
shops
like
this
one.
But
somehow,
this
one
has
its
own
workshop
and
old
ladies
open
to
the
public
to
see,
to
learn
and
to
experience
that
gives
us
a
whole
new
level
of
learning.
Batik
is
time
consuming
and
Indonesians
put
their
heart
and
spirit
in
it.
Each
time
I
put
on
a
batik,
I
feel
the
person
is
with
me
and
I
have
to
behave
just
like
the
soft
spoken
lady
or
man
to
be
better
and
more
polite.
The
motif
also
means
and
reminds
us
what
this
is
about
on
daily
basis.
Batik
is
amazing
and
Solo
is
where
the
president
is
from.
I
just
love
Central
Java.
