The effort that has gone into the preservation of this site is awesome. I mean, it's a tiny little town with absolutely no other reason to visit, but here is this million-dollar museum hidden in a corner of the town. The entry is cheap, the bathrooms are clean, the displays are tidy and well documented. My only complaint is that the folks did such a good job of cleaning things up that it frankly looks a little sterile...and you can't actually see into the crypt nor get too close to it. But it is worth the five minute detour it is off the main road, and a 20 minute visit for a couple bucks.

10 lei/adult, gorgeous place made with european funds, you cannot go very close to the ruins (there is a special space to walk) but very spectacular and informative. A lot of archaeological findings on display

Nothing left but the rebuilt grave. Superstitious, dogmatic presentation of ruins. Toilets under key, people are uneasy with somebody else using their toilets. Very dirty toilets, I seen ugly things running around. Kids werw happy to receive free entry that particular day, however, there is a ticket for them, too.

This is incredible, one very old church with some col artefacts like old belts and lights from 4-6 century, so after roman governmet left, the population remained and kept traditions andthings.

Beautifully preserved and well maintained. Also there's a little exhibition of a local artist which was a very nice surprise.

👍👍 Absolutely mesmerising. The church has beautiful paintings. Close by there is a staircase that leads to a cross that has a fantastic view. If you go up further into the woods (there's a rough pathway) there's another cross with an amazing view.

👍👍 11 km away from Tulcea is the Monastery of Saon, a monastery of nuns built in 1846, a cross-shaped building built of stone and brick with three large towers. Peace to you who pass the threshold of this beautiful monastery. It's worth visiting.
