The food was amazing. We went there early morning to have breakfast. And we had ordered one vanilla milkshake and one espresso, along with that also totally French (breakfast). The croissant especially was mouthwatering, so fresh and so as the bread. The muesli bowl was a perfect one! The ambience was very relaxing and enjoyable. Would definitely go again!

I had dinner at puppets one night after a long day the service was amazing so friendly and kind, food and drinks were delicious The place is super cute and cosy with a lovely little terrace to sit and watch the world go by as you eat. Fast WiFi which was amazing for a little work (hotel WiFi around galle fort area seems to be terrible) Food and drinks were great super reasonably priced and wonderful friendly service.

Food is good. Generous portion. Also, staff is friendly. Good ambience. Prices are similar to the other places inside the fort.

Best meal we had in Sri Lanka! Located right in the historical center, the food was delicious and the crab curry was to die for! Plus the staff was very welcoming, the service attentive and the place warm & cozy. Highly recommend, would definitely come back!

Honestly, if you come to Galle Fort, you cannot leave without trying their French breakfast! Freshly baked croissant, warm from the oven, a brioche- style bread and dark seeded loaf bread as well along with multiple fresh fruits (mango, watermelon, banana, pineapple) on oats all with homemade passion fruit jam… need I say more? All served with a nice conversation too! The Sri Lankan breakfast was just as nice!! We also recommend staying at their guesthouse, Le Jardin du Fort.

The food at Puppets was fantastic. I stopped for early lunch and had the vegetarian curry which was delicious. The restaurant is owned by a lovely couple who were great to chat to and who gave me fantastic advice about Sri Lanka and the town of Galle. The building has been restored really nicely and the restaurant has a lovely calm vibe. I would definitely recommend to go here!

Best food I’ve had in the Fort. Great atmosphere, friendly service and prices are very reasonable. Had the prawn curry for dinner and was delicious. Also good place for bfast and/or coffee in the morning. It’s a can’t-miss spot if you’re staying in Galle Fort.

It was a wonderful experience. I don't know so much about food to be a food critic but what taste best to me is the best food. And truthfully if the food is glorious it always makes me involuntarily smile. This Kiri fish dish really made me smile all throughout the meal. It was marvelously creamy to make the bread soft, yet left the bread's crispiness original, leaving to experience the taste of well bake goods and it had the spice to give a good kick to revitalise the apatite and a hint of earthly leaves to balance the whole meal. All in all, it was great and I wished I had more tummy space 😊

We stayed in Galle for the New Year vacation in April 2023. It is true that you have many restaurants inside the Galle Fort but this is the best place for the food and it is 100% worth the money you pay. You have different options (from Sri Lankan dishes to French-style dishes). We tried all and still, we can remember the good taste. The staff is very friendly and we don't feel like we are in a restaurant. They serve you like the family. If you go to Galle, don't forget to go and taste the food and the lovely service. The decorations they have is very different and you will not see that anywhere. Thank you Maneika and the team.

Sea salad and carrot celery booster is perfect for a healthy and super tasty meal. I’ve visited during my special diet and only place to find freshly made salad without adding readymade sauce. Highly recommended place with lovely staff.
