It was my first place after two month traveling in Asia where I settled down. And I had a beautiful time here. Colourful, relaxing, comfy, friendly. The mighty sound of the ocean in front is charming

Be Careful at this place! Bara the manager guy with the beard. Stole money from my girlfriend, it was only 50 usd. But very weird he stole also her bathing suite, why? Just be careful more people there stuff where stolen. We talk with some people, and they told , because of covid they do this. Be aware they are friendly, but don't trust them!!

Returning in the evening, I did not find my things in the hostel. The next morning I found out that the cleaner for some reason took them and put them somewhere. They returned them to me after threats of calling the police and 3 hours of searching. And for some reason, there was no phone charger in the bag with things, but after new threats to call the police, it was also found. Be careful

Staff are very lovely and friendly. Beach front hostel but it’s in the middle of no where. We stayed in a cabana for 2 of the 3 nights we booked, sadly the weather was great at all and the rain made everything damp, the cabana roof isn’t sealed properly so water comes in when rain is heavy.

Spent our new year eve 2022 here. It was beautiful. I loved the vibes there. Everyone was so friendly. Truly a hippie paradise. And the views are breathtaking. Con: bathroom is shared and as u can understand from that , it’s dirty. So keep that in mind before planning.

Simple and beautiful place with Great seaview. Small cabana type rooms. One of tree house cabana has nice view. Friendly staff. Good food and coffee. You can just get to the beach from this place. Sea view deck and sitting arrangement is good. You can spend time free and chill. Bathrooms not maintaining well, otherwise all good.

I ordered the prawns al ajillo and it shouldn’t have been called “ al ajillo” because there was not enough garlic, very small prawns and the result was tasteless. Also very small portion, I was left hungry so decided to order the chocolate brownie with ice cream…what arrived was like a third of a regular sized portion of a brownie and the smallest scoop of ice cream I have ever seen. Disappointed ☹️ it could have been such a nice experience because the location is good.

Worst pace ever. Dont get fooled by the positive reviews here. Recently we went there and the experience was just horrible. No cleanliness whatsoever. We asked for some glasses to have a drink they couldnt us even provide those. Despite the fact we booked a family room in advance when some new people came the management tried to switch rooms even. No professionalism whatsoever. Worst experience ever. Dont get fooled by the photos. Worst place ever

Absolute place to chill and enjoy the beach day with a budget stay. the lightning works , small cottages and the friendly environment gives you a Caribbean touch in Sri Lanka. Don’t miss this place. It’s really amazing experience.

Great place for solo travelers! You gonna meet nice people, chill by the beach, sleep listening the waves (after the party finished). Good food, amazing staffs, happy hour cocktails. Very simple rooms, just as you see at pictures.

Bara and his staff are very friendly. At first I only wanted to stay one night - in the end I stayed there for four nights. The yoga teacher was also very good and the class with him every morning was very good!

Firstly, just want to point out that this place is lovely. Great location, nice cabanas with mosquito nets and fans, good food and drinks and friendly staff. I'd have happily given five stars but I couldn't because of a few issues that were too difficult to overlook: We arrived and were told that they had overbooked so we had to spend our first night next door in a much smaller beach hut with less comfortable bed with no fan, which was very hot and uncomfortable. The food and drink was great and the staff were very nice, but the service on the bar and restaurant was pretty terrible. Every time we ordered there were long waits for basic food and drinks, with items often completely forgotten about and on a few occasions there were long period of time with no staff in the bar and restaurant at all. Overall, would still recommend this place as we loved it here but be prepared for unorganized staff.

Awesome place to eat! We enjoied our dinner with a perfect sunset. For me it seems to be a spot for digital nomads or „hippies“ - I‘m neither. Anyway, highly recommended for having good food and fair priced drinks.

It is a beautiful place run by very kind and authentic people. I stayed in one of the cabanas, which is very fine. They are quite close to the bar so it's a bit of a murmur till late. But not super noisy. The sunbeds are amazing to just relax close to the sea. Beautiful scenery!

I spent one night in this place .The view of this place is amazing and i enjoied a lot by ocean overlooking.The staff are very friendly and helpful.Service is excellent.i got a wonderful dinner and a breakfast too.Night and the morning vibe both are superb.spent some happy hours relax and happily at this place

This was my first stay in Sri Lanka. The place is really very nice, food is not bad, employers also nice, BUT after 9am they turned on a club music very very loudly. At midnight I asked them to turn the music down, but they did it even louder and also keep talking very loudly till 2-3 am. After being on the road 20 h this was the last thing I would like face. Checked out the next morning.

I truly love this place and always come back here as it is one of the very hidden and still secret spots to find in Sri Lanka. The staff is super friendly and the beach isn't overcrowded. Here you won't find westernised tourist spots and overpriced eupean food but a real calming and pure experience.

We haven’t slept here but we ate and had some drinks and LOVED IT. The place looks like a hidden bohemian heaven with hamacs, beds and tables almost in the sea. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the staff is very very nice. I would definitely recommend this place to have a drink and/or chill a few days.

Lovely cabanas next to the beach. Great atmosphere, delicious breakfast. Despite common bathrooms, quaint shower is under the sky. Perfect cheap place for a chill.

Falling asleep with the sound of the waves! ❤️ It’s a wonderful place for low budget travelling with incredibly friendly people. Also the best place for amazing sunsets. The food is lovely and every dish looks like a little piece of art. I felt at home straight away and instantly made friends with the owners two dogs, who are very well behaved and love to join in beach walks or a little chilling on a sunbed.

They have a 😍 beautiful beautiful beach that give a gorgeous morning for chilling. The room is small and bathroom is not good. But it really just 2$ for a night so you don't usually expect much for that

It looks very nice until I ordered food. Chicken fried rice. It was small quantity with very little chicken and nothing else. The taste also was not good. I was feeling something wrong in my mouth even after one hour. The good thing was I was not poisoned. It is pity because the whole environment is beautiful with nice jazz music. They have to improve the food. I never remember in my whole life to eat so bad chicken fried rice.

Super amazing and attentive manager and staff, really looked after me. I saved a driwning swimmer yesterday and they gave me a free meal and a drink 😊💪 will be gking back next weekend as i feel the value for money and the entire experience was well worth it.

We only went to the restaurant there but absolutely loved it! The people there work with heart and are super friendly. The prices for the food are also reasonable.

By far the best place to be at Galle area. Super located, fantastic vibe and awesome stuff!! We'll come back if we ever come back to Sri Lanka again, for sure! 😊

Nice and cool place near to Galle town. This place is faces to the Indian ocean. Beautiful costal line is there. You can stay with your friend and family and have a great time. Interesting rates and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms. Cabana facilities are there. Foods are very tasty and hygienic. One of the best places to stay your vacation in down south of Sri Lanka.

Although they weren’t officially open, Buddika Aiya made all the arrangements for our stay. Bara beach home is a well connected place to nature, facing the sea. Very beautiful and very convenient. You can choose a variety of options according to your budget. Simply clean, affordable, convenient stay. Highly recommended 👍🏽

Amazing hostel with cool beach huts and great access to Bara Beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful and served great food. They are also very eco-friendly and encourage cleaning activities and the reduced use of plastics.

I have visited this place when I was in a vacation in Galle. I had to stay one night there for some works and wanted to chill with a sea view and to taste some sea foods with a beer. The booking was just one call away and when I went there I felt like I came to the right place. With the good music and beach vibe is perfect. Got a cabana with the sea view in upstairs. The food was also good and quality and you can buy beers too there. The staff is ready to give any thing you want. Highly recomending! Prices are so reasonable.❤️

Impressed by the creative copies about the place right at the entrance - a narrow alley leading to a chill, nice ambience with beach view and cool music. Room charge unbelievably good ($3 for a private bedroom right next to the beach). Food is a bit pricey for backpackers but quality is good though. If you want to see the unique stilt fishermen you can rent a scooter (2,500 rupees a day) to ride to Koggala which is 20km away. Better go early in the morning. The only thing that needs to be improved is professionalism of staffs. Guess they are a bit too laid-back to follow orders from guests. And they should not be frown if they are not clear about customer's request.

Nice exterior but very noisy at night, the quality of the food depends on what you order (we got a avocado poached egg toast which was inedible) and the sanitary facilities are not very clean. Too bad!

We spent 5 nice in another super close property of the same owner. But we spent anyway a lot of time in their restaurant. Good food, really nice waiters, cool beach A place to chill :)

It was a really great experience and the staff was very welcoming. The food choices were a limited but the food tasted amazing. The location and the atmosphere was really nice too.
