Beautiful place. It’s beautiful scenery will mersmerize you .The beach, water and sky will always attract you. There are many hotels & restaurants around this place.I visited this place in 2012 and spent most of the mornings in the beach and later on in the pools. The people of this area are very friendly and helpful to the tourists. I went there from Bangladesh and I will never forget my SriLankan friends.

Great view and short distance to the beach. Simple yet functional rooms with adequate facilities. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Close to a lot of beach side restaurants and bars. Breakfast consists of large portions and is flexible depending on your diet.

We stayed here for a week & ate in the guest house for 2 nights, then found inexpensive places to eat on the beach. The guest house is run by 4 brothers who were very kind & helpful. The staff were very attentive. Lovely clean hotel 1 minute from the beach. Fridge A/C & fan. Breakfast is great!

Had a wonderful stay here. The staff is very well behaved and really friendly. They're eager to help and have some excellent ideas of you're confused about planning an itinerary.

Under the current renovation going on it can get in your way. But the service and food still at an exceptional level. I'm pretty sure 2020 winter will be a highlight with Calamander Unawatuna Beach (formerly UBR)

The staff is super friendly and helpful. Food is good as well and the price is reasonable. Not sure about the rooms condition since we stayed at another place nearby and only went for food here.

Nice place with splendid view of Unawatuna beach.. pool is okey ... but lunch buffet was terrible .. lesser food items and no refills ...

Large resort right on the beach. We stayed in a family room and it was very spacious and comfortable, although the bed broke one day when I sat on the edge! Staff were a little disinterested at times and sometimes it took a while to get served. The check in and check out processes are interminably long as well. The location is great and the food they serve is very good if not a bit more expensive than other restaurants in the area. They also have a pool area which is quite large and allows you to take shelter from the numerous touts on the beach. Overall a nice place to stay for a few days of relaxing by the pool or on the beach.

What an amazing place! The view, the service, the atmosphere!! Rooms are large and spacious. Very clean. They have a fresh fish market on the beach so you can choose your dinner every night. A place to go back to again for sure!

This hotel is a good balance of comfort, luxury and simplicity. Rooms are decent for the price. Location is good, pools are nice and staff is friendly. A lovely beach stretches in front of the hotel where one can take a long walk. Sometimes fish is sold out on the outside barbeque because it's all subject to availability in the local market. At least it's always fresh!

Place has been totally closed about 2 years now. Google maps some how don't wanna believe this. Even have been sending many photos. CLOSED PLACE!!!

This resort wasn't what i was expecting, it is nice enough but lacked the final touches that would have made it great. When i travel i want to experience the local environment and culture, when you walk into the dining area, over looking the Indian sea, and see a sign that says they are serving 'Full English Breakfasts, it puts me right off. Overall though it was a very nice place for the one night i stayed there, nice rooms and great bathrooms with a jacuzzi bath. The bar was on the beach and the restaurant area is well sited overlooking the beach and sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Really nice hotel in a great location. Had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Stayed in the standard superior room and had lovely seaview.

Amazing resort, has all the facilities. Rooms were huge and clean, bathroom was massive, biggest I've ever seen. Both pools were nice, didn't get time but they had an area for badminton, table tennis, and beach football. The resort is built on the beach side so all beach activities are accessible, such as snorkeling, jet ski and others. Plenty of bars and restaurants built on the beach right next to the resort. This place is definitely worth your stay, I'm going again for sure.

I made a booking in error where my card was charged without any authentication via Agoda. I immediately informed the hotel and they agreed to refund the charges. However after several followups they refused to refund as its easy money. There is no humanity left in this part of the world. This is the most unethical hotel I have experienced. Hope fellow travellers will read and avoid this place.

Very good beach feeling...

Beautiful place. Unawatuna is a very good option for a holiday and the Calamander made it even more enjoyable. Great facilities. Rooms are big and clean. Swimming pools are nice. Very family oriented, great for kids. Food is amazing. Breakfast buffet has a variety of food to choose from. The restaurant and bar are also great. Recommended!
