Climb the stairs and enjoy the food. A long slow wander around Galle Fort area found us asking the age old holiday question, 'lunch'? Fortunately we came across The Stairway on New Lane 1 it's just off the well worn tourist trail so in a nice quiet location. Food is superb and staff are great and their recommendations are right on the money. My recommendation - try the calamari starter it's great.

Walked by and saw the meny on the street and just a stairway. Decided to try and walked up to find a cozy balcony with only 5 tables. One single you waiter handled the service with excellence. We had burgers and chicken satay and some non alcoholic drinks (their is no alcholic drinkers here). And it was all great. Price was modest. Thank you!

No Beer No Party. Very nice brand new furniture. Good food. Very nice location up to the roof of an old house. There is also a little female boutique. But as i said....no beer no party.

After being in Sri Lanka for 2,5 week, this was the best restaurant! I had the vegetarian dish, it really was delicious! The owner / cook came to all the tables (restaurant only has place for I think 20-25 persons) to make sure every customer was satisfied. He explained to us that he made everything fresh and wanted to build a good business. There are a few tables outsight and a few inside, both on the second floor very nice situated. I really recommend this place!

Really nice place for a couple, especially at night. The few tables on the rooftop area comes with a nice breeze. The place is very simple but clean and the waiting staff is friendly and attentive to their customers. Food was tasty and comes in a moderate sized portion, perhaps more than enough for one person. Really loved the dinning experience and I would certainly recommend the place.

Wonderful rooftop place away from the main hustle of the central street. Would highly recommend for a dinner to wind down after a day tour in the fort. Menu selection is small but all dishes are well prepared. Makes choosing easy. The staff is lovely and attentive. We had the Piri Piri chicken platter to share which is a good amount for two people. The vegetables were fresh, and the chicken juicy.

Amazing food and juices! We passed by and didn’t expect anything as it is located in a very touristy area. The staff was very friendly, serving quick and with a lot of attention. The food was not only really good (Eat the calamari starter!) it was also beautifuly arranged. We would come again!

The atmosphere is absolutely lovely in the evening, perfectly out of the hassle of all the people. And the menu consists of a few but perfect dishes. The vegetarian option was so good we came back twice to this restaurant. And I would recommend the Pango nice :) The staff, food and atmosphere made our last day in Galle perfect

Great Curry, friendly service! They asked how hot we'd like our curry, and spiced it perfectly for us. We shared a couple of curries, a lassi and sprite. We felt the price was reasonable when compared to the other restaurants in the fort. Really small place, but worth looking up, and heading up the stairs to give it a try!!

A truly fantastic little pearl of a restaurant! The people here are super friendly, super professional, and you can see that they care about what they do. This place has a vision. And that vision becomes obvious to you when you taste the first bite! Free water is nice too! They don't serve alcohol, but who cares? You can easily find a bar later if that is so important, just make sure that you eat here first!! 👌😁 There are not many places this good in Sri Lanka. Really.
