LADIES BEAWARE!! I went to this property with my husband. We checked in, had lunch and then I went to have a wash. The moment I was about to step into the shower, I could see one man crowling down and watching me from a frosted glass partition which is not visible to you unless you properly look up. I will attach the pictures for you to see, so you know what I am talking about..I called my husband and then he immediately came to see and by the time he entered second man was approaching the partition area to watch as well. He screamed and they ran away. I was terrified and then we went down and complained to the manager. His answer was that it can't be my staff. I screamed at him! whoever it is, it's his responsibility to ensure ppl are safe within his property and who on earth keep such glass partition in a washroom?? People can even film you. Corners of those glasses clearly had more visible spaces where the sticker didn't cover that is only visible to the naked eye. He then went into next door construction site and it was obvious that those were the ppl who were watching from that space. This is utterly irresponsible and disgusting. We left the place immediately and I dont even want to visit galle fort ever again in my life. This is not a one off incident, it was obvious that this has been happening for some time Also it was obvious that staff or manager don't care much. After this incident only they called one of their sticker suppliers to come and cover the partition properly and we realise next room also has the same issue. I just don't want anyone else to go through the same thing I went through. Please be careful!

Great hotel in the middle of Fort Galle. Super friendly and courteous staff. The room was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Absolute recommendation!

They provided good wafels and egg benedict. Today they brought rigid wafels and egg covered by musturd instead of hollandaise sauce. Supposingly, the cooker has changed. Not recommended then

The Hotel is in an Excellent Location within the Gall Fort. Spent two nights at this property. The property was well maintained and the staff are very Obliging. Irshard the Manger is an extremely helpful individual and will go out of his way to assist Guests. I am extremely pleased with the level and quality of service offered. As a side note, the Food served at this property was extremely well made and fresh. A lot more value for money than most of the higher end restaurants and cafes in the area. Kudos to the Chef!

This is a great little hotel right in the heart of Galle Fort, with wonderfully attentive staff, particularly the gentleman who done the breakfast, he was so lovely, thank you for chatting with us and a wonderful breakfast! The room we had was big with the bed being upstairs and had it not had a few issues I'd have rated it a 5, but we had a leak in the ceiling, too much furniture in the downstairs section, the shower ran between scalding and freezing no matter what you did and the water doesn't drain properly so it travels out towards the room, also our fridge did not work, however in the grand scheme of things this wasn't a huge problem. It's a lovely place to stay, rooms have aircon (most likely to be the cause of the leak), fridges, they are good sized and the bed (double) was comfortable, all in all we had a lovely stay here! Also, there is no lift and many stairs up to the first floor where the rooms are, also some rooms have stairs in them, not ideal for anyone with mobility issues.

The rooms despite being advertised as having views had no windows!! However the cafe was very nice if a little expensive with a good range of cakes

As it is a 3 star hotel, you should not expect an exceptional experience. It is located in a very easily accessible place in the light house street. The rooms are quite small. Because it is located in the street, you cannot get a beach view. But the light house is located near the end, within easy reach of Galle Fort. You have to enter the hotel through their restaurant. They have a good menu. The bathroom is small but clean. The menu is available in the dollar price range. Overall, although not at the best level, it can be called a hotel where you can get a satisfactory experience.

Location is galle forte which is overhyped and very dull place to stay in the night. You can listen to owls after 9 pm. Room was good Reasonable prices +

If you plan to visit or stay at Glle fort, I highly recommend 56 by decor! Amazing little place and rooms were also very nice. Friendly staff and their service is really good. Omg the food!!! It's was sooo good.

Best place to hang around with loved ones while you’re exploring the Galle Fort. Their prices are abit high but worth it. Do check them out to get yourself refueled after a walk on the cute little streets.

The place is nice and spacious. The mojitos we ordered were pretty good and the prices are reasonable. The staff there is very friendly.

Beautiful and nice place. Friendly service. Waffles (sweet and savory) and coffee are very tasty and mouthwatering. Would like to recommend the place for those waffle and coffee lovers.

We had very comfortable one night's stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Perfect location and setting.

Me and my daughter had gotten late when we got there but they were still very helpful with helping us check in. The rooms were wonderful and aesthetically appealing .The food was also nice. All for a reasonable price. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a relaxing, safe night in Galle.

It was a wonderful experience to stay inside the Galle fort. The rooms furnishing was so attractive, very nice and clean. The shower was the best thing I experienced. (Water pressure was good). They have a great Menu to chose from and food was very delicious. Highly recommended for a relaxing and refreshing stay and delicious food. 😎👌🍻

Lovely place in the center of the old town. Friendly staff. Nice rooms and the best showers i have yet to experience in Sri Lanka.

Stayed here for 3 nights.Breakfast was good.Rooms are small but cozy(tv,ac,fan,safe,hot water).Staff is friendly and helpful.Would recomend for a stay if you want to spend a night inside the galle fort.

I have eaten their pizza, waffles, wraps. All of them were yummy.

The staff was friendly and helped us with an early check-in as well as with adapting the next day breakfast to a vegan version. The room was clean, great shower, comfortable bed, good AC and fan. The light in the room was quite dim (there are 3 small windows, but not much natural light comes in), however , this was not a big issue, since most of the day we were outside. Wi-fi comnection was good. The toilet was very weird, as it moved quite a lot when seated... Also, no sound proofing in the room.

Great location, we had a loft room which was very good. Powerful when we arrived so the room was hot but then the AC worked very well. Lovely courtyard for breakfast

A perfect stay for a trip to Galle. Small, comfortable rooms with a lovely big bathroom and a great shower. Very friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast. An ideal location for exploring this beautiful city.

Pleasent environment. Food takes a lot of time. And the quality of the meat wasn't great for the chicken burgers and the chicken wraps. Waffles were fine. The chef asked us for a feedback and he received it very well.

A modern place to have a coffee or a drink during the day time. They have waffles, wraps and pizza as well. Friendly service at all. Recommend this place.

Quaint, lovely little place in the heart of the galle fort. Not many rooms but all are well appointed and have all the necessary room requirements. Definitely go for the double decker room. Good value for money in terms of what you get and compared to other similar priced places. No pool but you can use the pool at their sister hotel Deco on 44 which is just down the road
