This is a very good restaurant in Unuwatuna. A food was delicious and the service was very friendly, super helpful and very time smiling. The lady’s was always there whenever we needed something. Set back a little from the road but easy enough to find. Search it out. Highly recommended and it is very good value.

Best Sri Lankan food I’ve had in Unawatuna! Amazing rice with 4 veggie dishes, dhall and fish curry. Every dish was so tasty. Also order the devilled prawn with rice (good for ppl who don’t want something too spicy, it’s a little sweet & sour). All the dishes were cooked fresh! So be prepared to wait 30-45 mins for your food. But no regrets once you put that first bite in your mouth! Highly recommended for a good Sri Lankan meal! A small alley from the main road leads you to the restaurant, don’t miss it.

Easily among the best Sri Lankan food you can find in Unawatuna. Ordered the Devil Prawns and Rice and Curry with Fish for lunch. The veges (Dhal, brinjal, beetroot, coconut sambal) and ingredients were so fresh, fish was full of flavour, everything cooked for us on the spot. This meant at least a 30 min wait, but well worth it.

We had an amazing dinner here - we both took fish curry and it was one of the best curries we ate on our whole trip! So many spices, big portions for really good prices. Also the owner (from what I read it’s his and his mother cooking) is very nice. Highly recommend!

Cozy place to have a dinner. There was no electricity that day, but we ended up having an unexpected dinner with candles c:

This was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The most amazing lady (I didn’t get her name). Due to it being low season she still allowed me to join her for a cooking class, and it was amazing. The food was delicious and she even gave me the recipes.

Central and just off the road that skirts the beach, the restaurant is on the first floor with plenty of space around the tables and friendly hosts. The menu is Sri Lankan in the main with reasonable prices. We had the four curry fish option which was excellent. Beer prices, too, are decent. We enjoyed our evening here and will be back!

Good place to eat. Keep in mind that rise -based dishes are huge enough to feed 2 or 3 people (photos don't reveal the real size)

Absolutely amazing local cuisine. So much better to experience this rather than commercial food that is available everywhere. Loved the flavour in their rice and prawn curry. Beautiful assortment of vegetables alongside the curry to balance the flavours. Beautiful beautiful food. Definitely recommend 🙏🏽

Not the cheapest, but food was very good. We were the only customers (late afternoon) and for this we had to wait quite long. Worth the wait though, very tasty.

Delicious local kitchen. Nice variety of spices. Their mango curry was surprising just like all other dishes. We ate here twice and both times it was a treat. Very friendly lady serving us.

Tasty food , well portioned rice and curry compared to many restaurants that give very tinies portions of the curries ! Fair prices , a great place to try at least once :)

Very nice place with very delicious Sri Lankan Style food. We ate there several times and were always very happy with the good. We also did the cooking class (5k p.P.) which we also can highly recommend🙂. All in all 5 Stars! ⭐️

Delightful! Food was exceptional, we had 4 veg curry and rice. Run by a wonderful lady. We even went back for the cooking class. Which is best done on a Wednesday so you get to go to the local market which was a great experience.

No idea where all these good reviews are coming from. We waited more than 2 hours after we ordered food. The only reason why we have stayed that long was that all other restaurants were closing at 10 as well and we had no other choice... It is a regular Sri Lankan Restaurant and not worth waiting that long for your food order. It was not even a mistake in the kitchen, they just told me Curries take it's time... And we were not the only once waiting that long. Just really bad organized...

Excellent curry, fully garnished and very well presentated! Love the coconut salad on side!! Real "not spicy" when asked to the chef 🙏. Very nice owner. Thank you 😊

Amazing food! Great experience. The host is lovely. We learned to cook 5 or 6 different dishes in a very calm, relaxing atmosphere. It's very authentic.

Amazing food, the family that owns the place is lovely and always willing to help. The grandma even gave me the recipe for a Kotti plate I really really enjoyed! Ate there 4 times during my 2 day stay at the area. Totally recommended!

The best curry I’ve ever had in my life and the best food I had in my whole holiday in Sri Lanka. The vegetarian curry was so good I was sad when I finished it and had to eat some from my partners plate. Definitely come here for a meal if you are in the area

This place was great. Though it’s a little tricky to find as it’s down a pathway off the main beach road. Just lookout for the “Happy Spice” signs and they will lead you right to it. My partner and I ordered the local vegetarian curry dish which came with 4 x types of curry with coconut sambal and it was delicious. The portions were large and the guy made it fresh on the spot for us. The service was great. Keep it up guys! Thanks a bunch :) #UnawatunaFood #SriLankaFood

We really enjoyed our lunch there today. It’s low season and we were the only ones there but they made us vegan rice and curry for about 1300 and also a vegetable Kottu and some fresh mango juice:

Amazing local food! We loved every part of it. And the owner is so nice! They also have cooking lessons in case you want to learn to prepare traditional Sri Lankan food. :)
