This weekend we have decided to spend at smaller boutique hotel directly at the beach. Usually we are going for 4* and 5* hotels because we like luxury places and enjoy to spend our off time with all available comfort. We were a bit in doubts to go for a small boutique hotel BUT our visit of that place went from the beginning till the end totally beyond our expectations. Room #1 at the ground floor in the centre of all happening with beautiful small terrace where you can sit and enjoy a beautiful surroundings and mainly ocean view. Room was well cleaned, welcoming and cozy. As we were on BB (bed and breakfast) we were ordering and tasting specialities from the menu. The ordered meals were one of the best I have eaten in Sri Lanka, the flavours and combination were absolutely delicious, very well done to the local chef because it was the gastronomical masterpieces. The prices very, very affordable. The staff of the place is the part of all experience. Everyone gives you so much attention (not annoying attention), that type of attention you feel very welcomed, comfortable and homely. A lot of eye contact, warm smiles and conversations. Basically because of staff we have decided that's gonna be our place in Unawatuna where we will come back whenever we decide to stay in Unawatuna. Unawatuna city/beach is well known beach basically the beach #1 in Sri Lanka mainly for younger travellers who would like to enjoy parties at night but in my opinion all age categories can find what they are looking for because we have just find what we needed (sun, beautiful beach, relax, good food, perfect service and cozy room with comfortable bed for a good sleep). The hotel near the beach that you are referring to is truly a magnificent place to stay. With its ideal location just steps away from the sandy shores and sparkling blue waters of the ocean, this hotel offers guests the ultimate beach vacation experience. From the moment you walk into the lobby, you are greeted with warm, welcoming hospitality and a sense of relaxation that immediately puts you at ease.

Had an amazing time there, the view is to die for and the beach is only a few feet away. The food was excellent and the staff was really friendly. Highly recommend it if you are searching for a place in Unawatuna. Will be visiting again in the future for sure. 😃

Where to start. The staff were exceptional each and everyone of them. They could not do enough for us. My Dad is particularly sighted and they were so caring and helpful. The hotel was lovely the food was outstanding and the service. I will definitely be back for another stay. I really hope the management team and owners appreciate the staff. They had to deal with some very rude and difficult guests at times. Several times l witnessed this and l have to say they delt with these situations in a very professional manner.

All the Services that were provided were great. Staff was friendly and helpful. They also have a power generator which is helpful when there are powercuts. I still can only give 3 Stars as the room was not great in relation to the price. It was ok for one night but the whole room, especially the bathroom, needs a makeover. There were loose tiles in the wooden floor, old stains (in the wood so not cleanable), and old dust in the lamps etc. Doors (including entry door) were very loose or hard to close.

I recently stayed at Thaproban Beach House in Sri Lanka and it was an amazing experience! The hotel is located just a stone's throw away from the beach, making it the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the sea. I stayed in a deluxe room, which was clean, comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and they made sure that my stay was pleasant and memorable. The hotel also had a great restaurant with delicious food and a breathtaking view of the sea. I enjoyed every meal there and would highly recommend trying their local cuisine. Overall, I had a fantastic time at Thaproban Beach House and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation by the sea.

The rooms are very nice and clean. The receptionist lady and gentleman were really helpful .they even took the trouble to send our adapter per post, which we forgot. All in all, very friendly service. Sure, it won't be our last visit.

I don’t even know where to begin! We’ve been recurring guests for this hotel for awhile but from today we will never visit this place again. One of the terrible hotels in Unawatuna with terrible customer service. There is a guy named Thilina who was really rude and do not know to talk to the local guests properly. He ruined our breakfast and our entire stay was horrible. Their Sri Lankan breakfast is a joke. I never recommend this hotel to anyone unless you wish to have an unhappy stay. I given this hotel minus on all the stars.

Good morning. This morning I called Thaprobana Beach House Unawatuna. Person who answered the call refused to give me information. I asked from him whether they have Travel Agents Rates? First he said No. Then again he wanted me to hold on and later he cut the line. When I called 2nd time he lifted the Receiver and cut the line again. I am from Reputed Travel Company, wanted to get Winter Rates 2023/24, I ask from the Management how can you carry on your business with Travel Agents if you are treating them this manner. I hope the Management will take necessary action regarding this issue. If he doesn't know about the subject he should have told me to call later. I hope this will carry you to correct these types of issues for the betterment of your Tourism Carrier.

If your heart tells you to draw yourself a little closer to the sea yet by having a hint of touristic surrounding, this is the place for you. Entering Yadehimulla road gave me a little vibe of Old Manali, (a place I would love to visit again) having a mixture of people of different ethnicity from all over the world. The dinner place is fabulous, you literally get to see the sea, the people and enjoy people simultaneously. Canopy bed lovers, you'll love the rooms! The doors are a bit shaky, so make sure you lock it properly.

Frankly speaking no words to explain the feelings about this place. Main attraction is the view from their rooms. They have their private restaurant. I went here with my friends. We had booked 3 rooms out of which one had sea view. Imagine getting up to such beautiful view. Feels so happy. When we requested them for one more room with beach view the staff courteous enough to provide one second day of our stay without any extra cost. Staff and manager here are so friendly and kind. One day we went to whale watching and we came back late. Still the manage arranged complimentary breakfast to us Especially all thanks to Manager who made our stay memorable. Breakfast was top notch. If you want to enjoy swimming then you should go to their Thaproban 5 star resort and spa which is around 700 meters from this place. You can access the pool there. Rooms were super clean and neat. We even tried buying some lottery tickets which were sold infront of the the accommodation. Rating as per my experience is: Ambience: 5 Service: 5 + 1 extra mark the manager 😉 Quality: 5 Food: 5

Nice restaurant where you can dine with the feet in the sand. They offer fresh fish, which you can choose individually in size. The staff was very friendly. Incan recommend the tuna steak rapped in a pepper crust - simply delicious.

Visited for a 2nd time and had the same awesome experience. Food, service and ambiance was great as ever. Had a great time with my family. Special thanks to the manager, Viradha Silva for attending to our special needs with my little kid and making the visit a pleasurable one.

Food is correct but more expensive than the average. Be careful, the waiter tried to scam us .. he put 30% of service and did not give us the receipt until we insisted.

Affordable rooms, ample for a beach setting. Lovely location and wonderful staff. Special mention - steward Priyantha, he's absolutely hospitable and was a great host. Food, as usual was fabulous - fresh fish, prawns and the most fresh huge tasty crab. We really enjoyed our stay. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting a carefree holiday stay on the beach!

Great location and nice beach view from our room.The room was very comfortable and the structure of there room type remarkable and the staff was amazing(specially Kevin who help us great hospitality bro ).
