This is a really nice place with a great view of nature. You should visit all three waterfalls in the same place. Upper most one is the most beautiful place. You can enjoy the beauty of the mother nature. You can swim in the natural pool at the lower part of the waterfall.

DO NOT GET FOOLED! ❗❕ There are couple of places named the same location around Neluwa with same pictures. 'Duwili Ella' is somewhere in the Sinharaja reservoir and this is not that. As the name suggests, Its the DOOLI Ella. 🏞️ If you know someone around the area or better to ask local guys for the directions if you want to not get lost and go somewhere else. This waterfall consist with 3️⃣ steeps. At the entrance you have to buy tickets at the small shop and they are not high cost. At the entrance you have a naturally made pool where anyone can jump on and enjoy. It made because upper waterfall area is too dangerous to bath. Most of the rocks are slippery. So don't ❌ risk your life there. You have steps to follow and you can see all the 3 stages of the waterfall. These are beautiful sightseeing for enjoy the nature at it best. 🌳🍃💐 Its not crowded too much unless your timing is awful. 🤪 Relaxing place to visit. Water 💦 from the top of the waterfall drops on the big rocks which makes water moist like dew. Its a wonderful feeling to enjoy. Nice place.👌🏻

A serene and beautiful place to visit, in very close proximity to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. There are stairs leading up to the three sections of this beautiful and scenic waterfall... The environment is unspoiled and breathtaking... You can hear the soothing sounds of the flowing water coupled with the chirping of the birds and the rustling of the trees amidst the cool breeze... There are natural pools for anyone who wishes to take a dip...

This is a place with a scenic beauty. It is a three step waterfall and you have to take the stairs to reach. Just at the border of the tropical Sinharaja Rain Forest, you can find this stream and waterfall. Cool and wonderful environment. It takes your breath away and gives you the opportunity to feel the pure and unspoiled environment that nature has to offer.

Great waterfall, but be ready for leaches and random tickets you have to pay (even though it's nowhere written you have to. Another tourist scam in Sri Lanka)

It's one beautiful unpolluted waterfall with a magnificent view. You have stairs up to the top so it's an easy hike up there. You must get a ticket to enter the pathway up. It's not recommended to bathe when it's raining as the flow is very high.

Beautiful cool place near to Neluwa. After a short hike we could find out to the dooli ella. There were few sub falls too. The poolunder the waterfall is vary deep. Beautiful waterfalls there and they might be more beautiful in the rainy season. At the entrace to the fall, there are two pools made for bathing. One is not much deep but other one is deeper. You will have to buy tickets to enter this place. 25 LKR for local adults.

There is a good road to reach there by a car without any issues but Google maps will suggest a horrible road. So be cautious on following Google maps.

If you are planning to take a bath at a waterfall it is better to choose another place, since it's a very risky place to take bath on the waterfall and there is a separate area specially built for bath like pool but it does not make any feel like bathing on a waterfall. You must take a ticket at the entrance. And limited parking available, better go in the evening.

  • 5/5 Dakshina S. 2 years ago on Google
Waterfall found on the way to Sinharaja rainforest Lankagama entrance. Can go near the waterfall when the water levels are low enough. Née to buy tickets from the forest department ticket counter next to the entrance. No need high ground clearance since the road is in good condition from Neluwa side.

Dooli Ella is a very common name used in Sri Lanka for waterfalls and it is derived from the water being sprayed similar to dust in the water falls. This specific waterfall being close to Neluwa is famous as Neluwa Dooli Ella.
